BrixNewb's First Grow & Beyond

It's not available in "the city" man. You have to pm Doc Bud here on the mag. ;)

The good part is...he'll send it right to your crib and you can avoid the ugly city altogether.

Yep. Kit foliars are mixed 1ml/oz so, I usually mix my "clone de-stress" at just under half-strength. I put 10-12 drops of de-stress from a pipet into a 1oz atomizer and refrigerate after use for a week or so. If it takes them longer than a week to push roots, I'll toss the week old stuff and mix a little more fresh. You can spray it right out of the fridge too, but I usually prefer to let mine warm slightly before I hit them with 36f liquid.

Ummm...
Brix is 1 ml per oz, but I believe the new/current Destress is 0.5 ml per oz.
:high-five:

Don't forget to hit them with some weak de-stress everyday for the next week or so.
Ah yes, thanks for that man. I am new, so I had momentarily forgotten about that. Did it right away upon seeing this.
I do the same with the rapid rooters except I do not bother cutting the cups and I do not use a dome. The plugs keep enough moisture on the stems that it doesn't seem to be necessary.

I'm finding it is less about how you clone and more about what you clone. Certain plants and certain parts of a plant work much better than others.
I guess we will find out. I put some Mason jars over them for domes, figure it will keep the humidity in for them. And it's no work for me, so I did it.
I hear that......I got stress from a year ago the new roots....I get confused sometimes........:lot-o-toke:
My bottle says 1ml/oz but who knows. It's dark as all get out, even when mixed half strength, so maybe I am messing it up. Either way I will get it figured out. .25ml/oz for half strength from now on. I feel that's right.

Thanks for the tips everyone. mb5200, just hit Doc up man, he can let you know if De-Stress will help your situation or not and send some right to you.

Well i tried my hand at cloning and it looks like a fail again looked good bout 2 hours ago and now they have all wilted and fallen over is that normal?

I see a brief wilt in some, but they bounce back within the first day even if they never root.

I am excited to announce that I have a package coming from Dusted Bud Genetics and have started a journal that will be strictly their plants. I came across them on Instagram and was really impressed with the plants they were growing, talked to them through email a bit, and they seem like a really awesome company, so I am going to give them a go. I hope that you all will subscribe and join in on the grow, as always everyone is welcome along with their advice/criticism/sarcasm. Link in the sig.

Grapefruit Diesel is now in flower since about two days ago. Today she got a major haircut, really wanted to thin her out. I believe I was underfeeding her, hence the yellowish color on some leaves. I am feeding her normally now and I think she will be just fine.

Pineapple Chunk is still in the veg tent. It is one squat little bush! She also got a trim today, took off a bunch of the lower growth. Going to get her closer to bloom before I trim some of the fans up top.

Budzilla is the youngest member of the family currently. She is moving right along in her one gallon pot sipping on 1/4 Trans water.

I have a Grapefruit Diesel clone and 2 Pineapple Chunk clones going right now. Testing out the cloning methods mentioned previously. All are still green and healthy looking. Just waiting on the roots. Also have two autos in the bloom tent that should germinate within the next few days. I have one photo bean in the veg tent that I am waiting on as well. Lots going on for sure. Never a dull moment.

I think you have a bum link, bub. :cheesygrinsmiley:

Man, exciting update, but without pictures. I don't know where the charger is for my camera, so I got another one on the way. But still, great update regardless of pictures.

Clone Status:

I took some clones (4 to be exact) and tried two different methods: cup of water with Roots! and Rapid Rooters under Mason Jar hydro domes. Well the cup with Roots! didn't work too well for me. Then one of the clones in the Rapid Rooters I destroyed due to clumsiness. Well this morning the last clone in the Rapid Rooter had a root sticking out the bottom. This evening it has 5 or 6 roots sticking out in various locations. Pretty excited although I may not be able to use the clone due to space constraints. But that's no worry, I just wanted to see if I could do it and what worked best for me. I can do it and Clonex/Rapid Rooter is the magic combination for me. Go me!

New Arrivals:

So I have welcomed Blackjack Auto and Wipeout Express auto since my last update. They are both above ground in 7 gallon pots and doing just fine.

Chocolope Kush:

Chocolope Kush is moving right along and looking super. Pushing out it's first set of 5 leaves if I see correctly.

Pineapple Express:

Pineapple Express is still bushy as can be. Did a little trimming the other day. She still has a ways to go before I throw her in bloom although she is the same age as Grapefruit Diesel.

Grapefruit Diesel:

She is in the stretch, doing her thing. Should be seeing first pistils any time now. A Rescue Drench is on the agenda for this girl tomorrow.

So all is going pretty well for me at this point. This is my second grow, although it's now a perpetual, I am starting to find what works for me and really enjoy it. I have been anxiously checking the mailbox on my seeds from Dusted Bud Genetics, pretty excited to step out of the mainstream and work with some genetics that haven't been done by many people.

I am super excited and really appreciate you guys riding along offering help along the way. Until next time!

Great news!! I clipped 3 branches off my 6 week PK and stuck them in water "just to see" but nothing after 4 days. I don't think I'll have room either but is worth trying..........

Can't wait to see your girls in all their lovelyness

mb, I am telling you, when you decide to get serious about cloning, get you some Clonex and Rapid Rooters. If I can do it, anyone can. Did you scratch/scrape the end of the cutting?

The water in cups thing always took mine weeks to root, never days. :cheesygrinsmiley: And it was iffy.

The rooters are a better choice. :thumb:

And the man himself speaks on his method. I actually got little nubs after a week but they just weren't going at a good pace and I noticed some yellowing of the fan leaves that were left, so I actually hit it with Clonex and moved it into a Rapid Rooter hoping it roots since it's the only Grapefruit Diesel clone I have and the Grapefruit D is now in flower. Time will tell.
