Bluter's Happy Home For Hilarious Hempsters

Always nice to have access to the thermostat.

have a switch so one in the lower hall will control it. that thermostat is sketchy tho. furnace used to shut off for hours and freeze, or run for hours and cook. the temps stays more even when mine controls it. everyone is happier. especially the furnace.

i get a bit warm tho lol

I can’t sleep if it’s warm, never could.

i have to have a window cracked open. even in winter. we got old school storm windows with the three holes at the bottom. got that open in the room right now. it actually helps keep things at an even temp. thermostat is in another room.

this thread is in dire need of an update..
been busy with other threads when here and work when not... :p

gonna try get some plant pics up later today. much things going on.. some troubles and issues i been working through... am gonna be seeking some input and advice, though hopefully have a handle on most things...

in the meantime i made some simple hash from the bud buster scroggins i collected from making pills, topicals, etc..

turns out harder than most stuff as i don't screen it, so it has more plant material. hits great tho, has both thc and cbd trichomes all mixed in - total entourage effect in a fairly quick rush.. :Rasta:

making a pile of canna pills right now. seems all the family decided to run out at once and waited to tell me. trying to catch up now.

the irish coffee is optional for this job.. :cheesygrinsmiley:

scared for my cbd stash. everyone is going through it hard and my new grow doesn't look great at this point.
will get more up later tonight..

I hate short notice on capsule making, but it's better than short notice on oil making!

i always try to keep a few base oils on hand.. i've simplified most of what i do to coco and grape seed oils. :)
it's supply i constantly grapple with. keeping 4 adults afloat with differing needs in two spaces, largest equivalent to 3x3...

there are a couple less than realistic expectations from a few quarters lol ... :p

Nice balls in that bowl. And no grinding first ;).

well some lol ...
i use a coffee grinder to break up the buds when processing meds.... the hash comes from the stuff built up in the grinder. it's called simple hash cause it isn't screened like higher grades. called the stuff that longer than i remember..

:cheesygrinsmiley:

More uses for the grinder eh?

i never grind the mc. i use the pre-mix and zap method.
described it in both this thread and the mc thread. :)

shake it up in a small jar, and repeat after a mic zap (no lid ).

I don't grind either because I'm never scooping less than 12 grams minimum at a time (3 gallon bucket @ 4g/gal). Lots of ball distribution!

i'm using less mostly... depends on where i am in the grow.
it doesn't matter though. it really does average out over the grow.. there's a lot of nonsense fretting over it

i'll admit to fishing a few of the calcium balls out to make sure i add enough when mixing. big deal.
same attitude toward precipitate. all hail the orange bucket ! ... :cheesygrinsmiley:

I wonder how "thick" those trying to make it concentrated were going for?

I put 62g into 3 gallons the other day, and no precip. (Technically it was 62ml of proTekt, then 62ml of calmag, then 62g of MC. Then pH'd it to 5.7, added Z7 and hydroguard.)

I stirred the bucket for a minute or two with the drill paddle, then let it sit for 15 minutes. Stirred another minute, and let sit 15 minutes. Came back (now 30 minutes into it) and stirred one more time for good measure, but it wasn't really needed.

Slowly added it to the RDWC about a quart at a time over the course of 2 hours. That put the feed right where I wanted it (4g/gal), and the water level as well. (I set the auto top off real low so I would have room.)

Was way better than doing a full res change just to bump the feed up. That won't always be possible, but for now considering the amount these babies are consuming, it was fine. Probably can get away with something like that in flower though.

It keeps just fine in milk jugs that I never saw the point in mixing smaller batches. If I need half a gallon, that just means I have 2½ gallons available when I need it next!

I got lazy on my lab tent and went from a 5gal bucket to a 17gal tote.

i collect and store my hempy run off in milk jugs.
right now i've got my mom's plants going strong. she loves it.

some other folks plants are addicted to it as well now... :p
had so much collected i gave a couple jugs away, and coupla housewives gone nuts for it i guess.... :cheesygrinsmiley:

i collect and use my runoff as well. just recently gave the wife some to use in the house for the plants,, and i have a large flower garden and several fruit trees and i dump around all over. urine too but that's another chapter,, ha..

my compost bin as well.

curious if anyone feels slightly 'guilty' dumping fert runoff down the household drain

blute,, friend,, still gotta thank you for your detailed journalling of the younger stages of a plants life. i told you before i was reading your journal with a fine tooth comb. and i have been,, still going back

i was having such a problem getting my new emergent sprouts to get going,, they would sit there forever

it was my ferting,, or, lack thereof i should say

i have been adjusting, first by frying a few sprouts by ferting too early,, and now i seem to be having some success

it wasn't that i was not using mega crop,, just that my ferting practices were completely negligent

and mega crop makes seeing the process easier,, start easy and early, and increase quite quickly, considering

cheers friends,, looking forward to some pics

:thanks:

here's a quick pic of the ladies du jour...

note the colour... been upping mc incrementally. tough staying on top. photo colour is close to real, maybe a touch pale but not huge.

feeding 6.3 g Mc / 4.5 L ro. everyone on 750 ml every second day.
equal to 5.3 g mc / gal ro with feeds of 26 oz per. for the US challenged measure folk.. :)

do more photos n stuff tonight i hope. got my ass kicked soundly training.

actually not really a great practice. municipal water systems deal with enough unusable stuff. i don't want to add possibly beneficial stuff to the mix.

i luckily have access to vegetable gardens in summer, and just essentially toss it there.. in winter we dump it in on the snow where the garden is... why not ? so long as natural systems can break it down / use it :)

the rest gets used for house plants. i get bugged by my mom's friends for it. :cheesygrinsmiley:

I soak my rapid rooters in 1g/gal mix to pop seeds. Works. Once popped, 24hr later they start 2g/gal. From there it's reading them and upping the dose. pretty much every 5-6 days I'll up it 1g/gal. Back off or hold steady when I see a slight tip burn. Admittedly that schedule is almost right to the edge, but it works.

seems i'm always chasing them as well.
almost always to mid veg ... by then everyone is generally with the program lol :p

edit : meaning me :cheesygrinsmiley:

couple quick update pics. gals are doing well.

woke up at 3 am with the furnace out. it was 10c in fort st veg/clone....
got it going and warmed up. been having some issues maintaining the grow environment. the winter hasn't settled in proper which messes with how the furnace runs. constant freeze -thaw cycles don't help. there is a bit of a storm coming in today, the outside temps will now drop and stay stable which will help.

the ladies are all little bushes now...

not sure if i should consider starting to train the offshoot branches. so far only the mains are tied down. the training sure has flattened the canopy, by now i'd be dropping the floor a few times to get head room for the light. i've only dropped it twice since starting. usually it needs a weekly adjustment at this point.

everyone is looking healthy. few strange issues here and there. probably nothing to worry. colour is good but i am a touch behind on ramping the feed. i am a touch over 1000ppm and kind of held there as it seemed a bunch for plants in veg.

had been considering an up pot to 5L as they sorta stalled. they seemed to have fired up again. been thinking about how much room i have left for roots over the flower stretch. was hoping to keep this and the next run to a quicker 2L grow. the training really changed stuff up.
