I've never been a fan of weight, I always go with wire staked into the dirt or the little cheap plastic things you can get for training.
But duct tape, that wouldn't never even crossed my mind
a better choice is taping twist ties to the tray and restraining the plant with the twist ties instead. This morning when I checked on her, she had significantly outgrown the restrained leaves. 
Twist ties I can re-adjust as the plant grows.She is going to be awesome.She has a nice round waist!! I like phat girls. Wait till she sways with weight later!! Gonna be sweet watching her blow up!! Happy Saturday girl!!

I love this, what an awesome idea, thank you for sharing your skillDay 3 update. She's doing well. Rooting cube was a little dry last night so I drizzled 10mL of water directly onto the cube, cut out a soil cover sheet from a plastic bag, and installed it. I always do that to keep the soil moist longer while the seed is beginning life. No humidity hood or tray warmer needed as the humidity averages 45%@75F hereabouts.
Best way I've found to regulate the dampness of the soil just after germination. It helps me avoid overwatering in this delicate stage.
