Becca Buries a Bean

Still no visible droop from the induced drought of the FF. Tuesday will mark 1 week since the res dried out and 12 days since last watering.

The Tahoe just keeps getting taller; today it's reached 14 inches. They advertised bigger, well, it's bigger!

For the Forbidden Fruit, it's now been a week since the res emptied and 12 days since last watering. Day 51 and the 3rd day of week 8 flowering. Not far to go, now.

That said, today she looked like maybe a wee bit of droop but nothing significant. I think I need to do the final watering at the beginning of week 5 if I want to see droop in week 7. So I have learned something.

The clock is ticking, though, and she is due a final half-cup of Geoflora Bloom and final Jones Juice, so I mulched in 8 tablespoons of GF B. Mixed 30mL of Jones Juice with a gallon of water and watered in the GF B with a liter of it from the garden sprayer. Tomorrow I'll spray another 2 liters up top and dump the rest of the gallon in the res.

I am about ready to top the Tahoe. She just keeps getting taller and taller. The 6th node is 14" above the soil, so if I top her, bury her deep in the SIP and do some training, she should be about right to replace the FF after it is harvested.

Day 53 of 12/12 for the Forbidden Fruit, middle of week 8. Topped up the res to 3-1/4", quite possibly her final watering but I think she has a few more weeks to go so maybe one more watering.

I transplanted the Tahoe Triploid to it's own 4 gallon SIP today after mixing a half cup of Geoflora with the soil. She was looking a little pale and was seriously root-bound. She'll be much happier now that she's out of that 4" pot and getting more nutrients! I buried her deep- so the third node is now the first node. Sprinkled mycorrhizae onto the root ball and soil around it to get it cooking. Top watered about 2 liters and then topped up the res to 3".

4:20 Pics! Day 54 of 12/12 for the FF. FF Res is at 2-5/8" today. Buds are looking so awesome. Still producing white hairs and no leaves have started to turn yet. They're really bulking up nice now.

The Tahoe looks like it's settling into the SIP nicely, though I think I had the light too close. No damage but moved it up to 12". Tahoe res is at 3-3/8" today.

OMG, these buds are looking so tasty I can barely contain my scissorhands, but another week or so will be worth the wait. It's day 56 and the beginning of week 9 so she's right on schedule.

The Tahoe is 19" tall now and growing fast. Probably going to have to do some LST or top her, so I'll have room to flower.

Thanks, Tassie! :passitleft:

FF day 57 of flowering. Her res was at 1-1/4" earlier today, so I mixed 7.5mL cal/mag and a level tsp of MaxiBloom powder in a gallon of water. She got 2 liters tonight and res is now 3-1/8". I think this is going to be it for nutes for her after this gallon is used.

Tahoe res is at 3" today. This tall, skinny plant isn't using a lot of water or nutes yet. She's reached 20" tall today. I dug out an old blurple LED to give her some more "juice" during daylight hours.

FF res is at 3-1/4" after topping it up with another liter of the Cal/Mag & MaxiGro solution, of which there is around 750mL left in the jug. FF res was at 2-1/4" before. She's taken on an amazing fruity aroma, can't wait to partake!:lot-o-toke:

I dug out an old blurple LED to give Twiggy the Tahoe Triploid more light. I'm hoping she'll bulk up some. Might have to prune her back to the sixth node and quadline so I get better yield. Maybe root the tip and keep it alive. The way it is growing reminds me of some of the Columbian bag seed I used to grow way back in the 70's. It acts like a Sativa though it's described as Indica dominant hybrid (60% I, 40% S). Her res is at 3" today.

The Tahoe is 41 days old, tomorrow marks the beginning of her 6th week in veg mode. Twiggy is 2 feet tall today. Res is at 2-3/4".

Tahoe20241213_211216r.jpg

FF light is out so no pics. Res at 2-1/4". Smells wonderful!

Flowering Week 10 begins today for the FF. It's res is at 1-1/2" today and she is so close to harvest I won't be watering again. Chop will be "just in time" because the Tahoe is screaming for more light and training to get her more bushy. As is, I moved her light up 4" yesterday and she's already filled most of that gap. TT res is at 2-5/8".

I just trimmed a bottom bud sample and put it under a microscope. Looks like it's got a few days yet.... almost all clear trichs, almost no amber yet and just starting to get milky.
Looking forward- been smoking DoSiDos for 6 months, lol.

Since the Forbidden Fruit
FF20241216_144650.jpg
won't be ready for a bit yet, I decided I have to top Twiggy and institute training asap to get her skyscraper behavior under control or she'll overgrow the cactus tent.

I topped her above the 7th node, trimmed the leaves and branches from the 3rd & 4th nodes, and installed bamboo supports using 4" plastic covered twist ties.

This plant always seems to make one branch of each pair way more dominant than the other and it could become lopsided, so at each of the remaining nodes (5, 6 & 7), I restrained the dominant branch only for now, and trimmed off the main feeder leaf for that branch.

I'm hoping apical dominance will cause the shorter branches to catch up to the longer ones.

When I removed the sticky traps to install the bamboo I saw tons of fungus gnats rampaging about on the surface of the soil, so I sprinkled liberal amounts of both Mosquito Bits and Diatomaceous Earth on the soil surface.

FF reservoir is empty, but I had 3/4 of a liter of Jones'd water left so I top watered her one last time. She's starting to foxtail so I turned the light down a little. Chop soon...

Tahoe res is at 2-1/4". Not much to do but watch her grow.

She's looking thick and sticky!! You go with your bad self girl!! Happy Sunday and Merry Christmas!! 😎✌️🎁
She is very sticky, Scottay, and taking her sweet time ripening. Yesterday pretty much all trichs are getting milky but very few amber, and same again today. Christmas chop? We'll see! Merry Christmas everyone!

🎄Merry Christmas and Happy Harvest One & All! 🎄

I had intended to take some pre-chop photos but somehow spaced it out so post-chop will have to do for the cosmic record, lol. It'll hang for min 7 days before trimming and jarring for full cure.

I'll move the Tahoe to the tent after I water and care for the cacti. Tahoe is looking good, should do even better with brighter light.
