Basement Dweller's Acapolo Gold 2010

Doode, you've gotta slow down :)

up_5-232.JPG

That controller's pretty cool :thumb: I've got one that will do 4 lights, but I have to plug it into a timer, nice score.

Has that baby gotten a job yet?

:goodjob:

Thank you blue only moving as fast as my wallet will let me :) And thats not cause it so heavy, its slowing me down either :) job yet ? jeez, she is just about crawling but she gets around well enough to get in to every thing in the same room  She is growing way to fast, almost forming words. she can get a little dada and mamam out but were not sure if its sounds or words :) but its fun to try and make words out of her sounds :) Mom is still having numbness in her feet and legs, ALL tests are ok and still unknown cause. Dam Drs cant figure out what it is :( and its kinda scary as it affecting her walking and mood :(

I use OC+ as my main nute, supplemented with cal/mag, silica and snowstorm. They're still growing, you should see the bigger one :woohoo:

I seriously love this plant, they take the heat no problem and every single nug is fat and dense. I'm hoping for 14 grams per plant and I think I'll get that easily from these girls. And they're still a bit smaller than I'm shooting for on this next run.

Hey BD - just wanted to sub to your journal. Hope you get your thermostat issues all resolved. Congrats on the light controller! Plants look good from what I can tell ~

Welcome to my party in waiting :) Doing well just lacking time to finish :) Well so much for decent spring temps, first heat wave of 2011, we hit the high 80s yesterday and into the 90s today and 85% HUMIDITY :( Luckily its in the low 70s over night. Its my only saving grace, as i runn the lights @pm I knew the heat was gonna be a problem but was hoping i could get away with it till mid june ? i may have to install the ac and find some room to put it in. I may have to chop one early :( i hate too but might be the only way to gain the space for the ac.

Well today is suppose to be the hottest and the past were dam hott :( Also woke up to power outage as were were peaking in to the 90s on sat :( SO had to rush around and get the Gen out and make some :) told the neighbors i had to keep the ac on bc my baby was spiking a fever. Apparently the power line broke. Now this is the third time i ve lost power due to a break :( Wish they would splice in a new line already. Then i had to wait for them to run a temp line. SO woke up yesterday to a lighting strike outside my window, it was so loud it had the wife jumping onto my lap. Man 2 bad days of waking up on the wrong side of the bed and crappy sleep at that due to the heat/humidity.

Well enough bitching :) I got some work done over the wkend :) YEA plants should be very happy. FINALLY got the drain to the resv hooked in and flushed it. I went a tad weaker on the liquid KOOL bloom and floralacious bloom 20ml/per 5 gal vs 25ml. I had edges curling and the tips so wanted to give them get a break. Also think i may over nuted the potted 4 as well. they got 3 feedings vs the 2 was giving them and the tips look a tad dark. Well they have been going since 4-5 well the flip was 4-5 i ve got to look back and see the date when they showed and we will go from there. I didnt get time to snap photos but i will today

Well it looks like it showed on 4-20 :) SO were a tad past 5-20 and my budds are coming along good. I think i may have to get the ac hooked up my temps are to warm during the day, when its suppose to be night time. i hit 98 during the night cycle and ran 87 with the light on I KNOW its reversed, who would have thought i could even do that ? DO you think it will hurt them ?? my last 5 were the opposite i ran them cool at night and hott as hell (mid 90s) with the lights on and had a decent harvest. I wish i had central air i got one of those portable ones but man its heavy and i am gonna have to put it on my back and climb a ladder to get it where i need it. well maybe i hoist it with some pulleys HUMM got to think about this i ll post pics :)

well dont really have time for a total update but going away camping this wk end. I got my bucket, pump and lines all hooked up and ready to water my potts while i gone. Just did resv flush the other day and my budds are packing on weight. SO thankful the heat went and the mild chilly night temps are back i hope till i finish :) well i am hopefully any how :) well i snap some pics later for you all

When sorry its been a while since my last update. Since then i installed a new pump to water when i would be away on short trip planed for the summer. Well i tested and retested. Making sure to get the correct water level in my pots. Well after testing i saw residual dripping after the pumps shut down and i put a open tee inline to relieve pressure and also introduce air so it couldn't drain my whole 5g bucket at once well it seemed to work but i didn't realize this till the last min b4 leaving so didn't have time to recalculate the time needed to fill with a open manifold (open tee) well i learned the hard way that was dumb i figure with the 2 gph limiters on the feed lines it would restrict me to that regard less of the line pressure so i had the timer running almost an hr split 4 ways with a 200gph pump so i had 4 potts and wanted 1L per pott so math seemed right and thats about what i got from past testing :(

needless to say my i came back to some pretty dry medium and 3 dead plants Oh and the worst was seeing the full bucket of water and no way for my poor ladies to drink. They did get some but not enough so i watered them right away and for got to shut off the pump and they got a tiny dose on top of a normal watering i would regularly so i flooded my spot that night and pretty much finished them off by drowning them :( i am so bitter luckily for my tray they will make it but i had so much time and work into these. And worst part only one other person and the misses know about them and she really doesn't care to talk about them at all. The other person is the guy who i helped start and he offered no sympathy. I am still sick to my stomach over it and its been a wk since. i did have some amber but mostly cloudy. but its doesnt taste the same. got some awful #s from them too. I ll post a pic i think i may have saved 1 of 4 from destruction. here is a pic of the one and a dead one behind her. And the ones in the tray arent looking great either gonna do a flush today and give them plain ro water maybe some thrive and calamag + maybe let them flush for a wk them back to 1/2 or 1/4 before final flushing. I think i am coming up on 90 days from flip. I cant wait for my final #s on the tray but i think i am gonna do a tray and a 3" pvc rack system for my next run and think i may switch to one of the VKs from barneys. I may be able to get a cut from my buddy to put one outside. oh well here is whats left in my flower box. I did manage to get to get 1.5z from #1 #2 is the one that still alive #3,4 still drying tray still alive but i think i may have light burned them or a nute or ph problem. My ph has been wacky it starts at 5.5 then works up to 6.2 ish then starts dropping ?? I thought as the roots used it, it would raise and keep going like my buckets did ?? who knows ??
whats left of #2

BD,

No! Nononono! That is awful news indeed. Thanks for letting us know the gory details anyway - this kind of thing can happen to anyone who has to leave their ladies unattended, even when you put effort into preparing for it...<sob>

If it helps at all <sniffle>, at least it was just your ladies who took the hit - rather than, say, your house, had something caught on fire. If you had to have a catastrophe...darn, but that really sucks anyway, my friend. Best of luck with the survivor and her hopeful successors.

You rocked it once, and I have every confidence you can again, this time with a better 'baby-sitter' system so you can carry through to a proper harvest. My heart breaks for you and your lost ladies...here's hoping your next grow runs much more smoothly! Stay strong. I wish you and yours all the best.

i KNOW Its like a nightmare going over and over every time i close my eyes.I was gonna take a pic but it was heart breaking enough and that image is etched into my eye lids :( their not totally lost just not the quality i was looking for maybe i bin it with the oil scraps. Yea i know i can do it and i was planning on taking it easy over summer. i might have to put in ac and runn another round over summer ?? i cant tell yet but hopefully the tray will bulk up and carry me. Yea next round in hydro no more soil or soil-less for me to many problems, bugs, watering yada yada yada I just think hydro is the way and only way :) thanks for the kind words DL

Ok i know its time for an update :) Sorry no pics today but i will snap some later and post tomorrow well its been a long time almost 90days since the flip to 12/12 and a couple hot days but i am thinking the tray is almost done. Got some 85% cloudy/ 15% amber Did a resv flush, filled with 1/2 strength nutes. I am gonna flush them out today or tomorrow then plain ph-ed ro water till chop. I have enjoyed growing the Acapulco gold. There has been some tricky times and some bit of a learning curve. But for the most part this strain is great. I still have one bean for my seed bank, and my budd still has a mom going so if there is ever a need or space for a LOOONNNGGGG Flowering sativa I will pick her back up.

OK, then its cleaning time :( plan on shutting down my flower box till early sept when the heat waves cool down. Also gonna start a new strain, definitely torn between vanilla kush and violator kush, I know they are both great 22% 55-60 days and both do well as far as poundage :) I have to say i am VERY DISSATISFIED WITH FOX FARMS OCEAN FOREST I HAVE HAD NOTHING BUT PESTS WITH THIS MEDIUM. And this is after i baked it and did the azatrol bucket dunk and neem. So with that said I am gonna keep the flood and fill tray going with hydroton and maybe add in a additional resv for water storage. I hate having to wait for my ro system to fill it tiny tank. Also thinking about adding a chiller. I know i have my home made chiller, but i want one that works more efficiently. Mine does great with 5 g buckets but since going to the 15-20 g resv its been having a hard time keeping up. OK i will post pics tom and i will definitely follow up with a harvest report for this last round. I got a decent z from the 3 potted ones that didnt make it through the vacation drought, Still got one in a pot 1/2 alive think i may cut her today ?? OH well got to get some work done :)

Sure sorry to hear about the vacation catastrophe, BD. That sucks! You put so much time and effort into them, just to have something like that happen. A couple of harvests ago, I missed burping a couple of jars for a week, and ended up losing nearly 3z to mold - it was such a heartbreak! I only grow for my own personal meds, and it really set me back - so I can empathize a little.

I have a pretty slow RO system, so I keep a container filled with about 25-30 gallons at the ready/back-up, and pull from there to my reservoir as needed. I might just break down and get a 55 gallon drum at some point.

Here's to much better fortunes in the future! :goodluck:

thanks guys :) it was heart breaking to come home luckily i came home a day early and saved one of them. Yea i was thinking, i got a blue plastic 55g drum that i was gonna use for storage, just got to get a pump and a air pump for it, oh and most important a float valve for it :)

XLR8 do you aerate ur back up resv ?
