Barneys Farm Sponsors Grow: Gorilla Zkittles, Orange Sherbert Plus Many More

The Shishkaberry....

The three soil plants have responded very well to the transplant. Their growth has been noticeably faster indicating that they wanted the room. The Shishkaberry looks like she needs a little bit of feed though. She is a tiny bit pale and less assertive than she has been in recent days. I'm pretty happy with her and look forward to the next topping. I'm sat her with the snips....

The Ayahuasca Purple....

This plant is growing very squat and a little slowly. I have been chopping her up frequently though so that may have something to do with it. She looks cool though and has a lot of charm. I think she'll shine during the flowering stretch but I'm thinking about changing her training slightly as she isn't recovering as fast as the other 2. Less may be more with this one. We still have at least 3 or 4 weeks training left so she has a chance at keeping up if I don't stress her too much....

The Vanilla Kush....

I'm pretty impressed by this plant. Despite growing her before I can't really remember the plant very well but the taste was fantastic. She has some lovely green, shiny leaves, they are covered in dirt though in the pic lol. She's probably looking the best out of these 3 at the moment and has been a good plant to grow. Won't be long until the next top for her....

That sounds like a new strain...or a candy bar :)
Very interesting journal,Prof !
I'm going to follow along from here on in if that's ok-this looks like a great place to "learn some stuff"!
Your plants, big and small, are awesome...I noticed the Purple Punch was crying earlier-can't say that I blame her...but she's going to get over it just fine!

Chunky Knuckle Haze! Lol
Thanks Carcass! I think we're learning things. I keep forgetting certain things that have happened like the sand and soil grow medium or starting the Purple Punch in crushed pebbles. The poor Purple Punch lol. She's stopped crying for now but there's plenty more planned for her! Hopefully I can keep things interesting for you and it's good to have ya along

Flowering Tent Update....

This is the sand and soil medium grow which I keep forgetting about. I thinking we have learnt something in here and that is you certainly don't have to purchase expensive soil specifically designed to grow decent marijuana. This grow is not over yet but I gave some of the buds a squeeze earlier and they're solid. More so than the previous plants at the same stage which is interesting. It does feel different to soil and my ph has been closer to hydro for most of the grow. I haven't gone above a ph of 6 for the last few waterings. There's barely a blemish on them that's related to nutrition. Thrips on the other hand are causing a few marks here and there. To be honest I'd forgotten about them. They don't have many leaves left to eat that aren't covered in trichs so I win again! Lol. Time for some pics....

The pots I'm using have little fabric loops on each corner for stakes which I see nice and considerate. I'm going to use the lights though instead. Because they're not far from the canopy I can attach string to them which is the easiest option at the moment. I've not been as productive today as I'd hoped and have only managed to do 1 lol. And it's a steel cable and not string because it was closer than the box where the string lives lol.

Complete with a blindfold!
Handy with the pots. i used light for yo yo's but worry about the heat eventually melting the nylon.
Blindfold heehee

Nice!

I've been smoking the blunts! Here's some pics of the veg tent. This is my second attempt at posting an update lol....

The veg tent is looking busy at the moment....

The Purple Punch has a couple concerning factors which are.....concerning! Her roots are still pretty nasty looking though I can definitely see new growth so she's not given up. Her leave are staring to turn a little pale though which is more alarming. I'm going to be nice to her for a while and hope for the best....

Not with your LED's! There's was a moth on the side of one of my LED's the other day. It seemed quite happy until I removed it.
Not a bad plant among any of them Prof . good job and management.
I have to be careful not to overstretch things otherwise management will become a thing of the past. I've been up to no good again and have more projects currently underway and a new one beginning today. Things will mellow out in around a months time.
Thanks Al! tomorow I'm hoping to do the Phantom OG strain review. I was going to attemp it tonight but I'm too blazed already! Lol

More flowering pics. My guess is this will be a 7 or 8 once harvest judging by how they look. I'd say that they look more like the 2oz plants that I like to cram into these small spaces. The buds are larger than the GZ's but no way near as many. They're not quite as big as the OS's yet but I think that they will be. Not really surprising considering there is 3 times the power going into this grow. It does go to show though that power isn't everything and that you can achieve good results using lower wattage if you can utilise the plants and the space well. My grow was by no means perfect but I didn't do too bad at all using only 200w. For the next grow I'm going to use the white LED's together which is 400w total. Maybe I can find a happy medium....

Wow you went to town on Purple Punch roots. Im surprised the h2o2 hasn’t worked yet. Loving the training! The light colour to the leaves may just be down to being new growth. Lovely structure for a mainline. Might be worth letting her recover then take a few clones as it looks a nice strong plant.

"Things will mellow out in about a month" , could these words be a prime example of the phrase "Famous last words" ? lol.
Love the projects Prof. Hows the pp doing from her strip out ?

Nice Prof all I can see in your pics is buds everywhere. Goes to show how well defoilation can work. I tried stripping one slightly less then the others in my garden and It gave me way more undeveloped buds low down on the plant.

PHANTOM OG
STRAIN REVIEW

Hey 420! Back again with another strain review. This time it is the Phantom OG from Barneys Farm that we shall be reviewing. The Phantom OG is a cross between OG Kush and Phantom Cookies and is a balanced indica/sativa hybrid. The pheno I grew was a strong growing plant that had a good bud to leaf ratio and long appealing colas. She was a very easy plant to deal with and was resistant to the moderate stresses that I exposed her to. She consumed a lot of nutrients and drank her 10 gallon pot dry regularly resulting in some accidental dry periods. She also had a severe thrip infestation early on which was managed but not elimated. This didn't faze her one bit and she looked healthy and vigourous throughout flowering. She had a rather plain look in regards to colour for much of her life. Then in the last few weeks completely changed and went from being pale to covered in many different flecks, speck and shades. Great plant to grow as she is quite forgiving and interesting to watch. She was done in 9 weeks from the flip making her quite fast for an impressively sized plant. The finished buds are of excellent quality, having awesome bag appeal and heavy feel to them. They are very dense and have a satisfying cracking sound when you break them open. The smell is a familiar OG with spicey hints of pepper and burning sugar. I found the taste to be surprisingly different from the smell. It is more on the Cookie side with a creamy sweetness and nutty tones. The Kush is still there but the musky dessert flavour is dominant. It grinds up beautifully and burns without any problems whatsoever. The smoke is thick and flavoursome and will certainly turn a few heads. The effects are fairly strong which is to be expected with her lineage. They are well balanced and can be utilised for daytime use as well as for relaxing. I prefer something more sleepy past 9pm so I've been using her during the early evening after work and on weekends. I've been functional and not at all lazy yet dreamy and relaxed in my ways when using it. I found it great for going on walks with my partner as we both found it to be a bit dreamlike but with just enough energy to get you there and home again. I found it to be perfectly fine for socialising with friends as it also has some good appetite stimulation. A dinner party strain. A centrepiece for consumption which will certainly be the talking point of the party. I loved this strain from beginning to end and enjoyed having her in my garden. She'd make a great choice for new growers as she is an easy strain to grow and if looked after will reward you with a beautiful bounty. She has the flavour profile and effects that would be appreciated by connoisseur growers as well. Solid strain which I recommend to anyone looking for something reliable and impressive. Here she is....
