Barney's Farm - Mimosa X Orange Punch - SIP

I use the Photone light meter app.

Here’s the link - Light meter app
Thanks Yellowman. I have used the app on my smartphone. I have also read in numerous posts that the app can give misleading PAR numbers. I would have think it at least gets you in the ballpark.

Never considered that but it checks out. Printer paper strips and an iPhone seem awfully ambitious.

Did you compare the par meter with the photone?

Not yet it's my busy time of the year. I have Santa gigs 🎅
It's on my todo list after Mrs Clause gets thru with me.

Seriously I have pondered it. Do you know if the smartphone app can be calibrated?

Yes, RR. The photone app can be calibrated, if that's what you're asking.

Hey great discussion!!

I did match my meter up to the phonone app and I think it’s in my Banner Journal. From what I remember the app was not all that close and I chose to continue using the meter.

@Delps8 had compared the meter to his apogee and it was pretty much dead even.

I like the Uni-t meter, especially at the price point.

Day 25:

I love opening the tent these past few days! Such noticeable growth and her lowers are getting that green that I like :)

She is still staying vertically challenged for the moment as well

She has made it about halfway through the res but I have to assume a good portion of that is evaporation.

Here is what the tent looked like over the past week, though it doesn’t tell me that him better than 98% brings a whole new meaning to 2%er huh??

Though I guess since the goal is VPD I got a 91 for the week :)

How many nodes are showing in that jungle?

I just ordered a diffuser to put on the iPhone.

I was using a piece of paper LOL. Would be interesting to see the app, with diffuser, next to the Uni-T next to the Apogee.

Obviously the app is the most economical. And the Uni-T is a great option. The Apogee, imo, is just unrealistic for a “hobby gadget”. Now if you use that for your profession, then a completely different story!

The Photone diffuser at 26 bucks shipped isn't bad. If it gets things in the ballpark or close enough then it's a bargain. Interested in seeing the head to head comparisons

Day 26:

Still SIP’n! She’s a little weed plant short and stout!

IMG_4779.jpeg

On node 4 with 5 soon to come! This means training is right around the corner!

Tomorrow I will jump up to the next weeks nute schedule, but I will probably stay at the current DLI for a couple of weeks as the additional seedling will be popping into the tent soon! Will play that by ear.

Day 27:

Some more great growth out of her today!
IMG_4781.jpeg

Those lower fans are getting big too!
IMG_4783.jpeg

On auto pilot atm with not a whole lot of doing on my part other than filling the humidifier ever other day! Just the way I like it!

That will all change by this time next week I am guessing. It’s looking like the quad line process will start by then. Time to start making some hooks out of garden wire!!

Ok well it’s Friday night and I was expecting seeds in the mail today and that don’t happen soooooo

I started the torture part of quadline and chopped nodes 1 and 2! 3 is well established and 4 is just there enough for me to bend it slightly down. Will probably top by mid week.

And the fun begins!!!

Didn’t feed her today will do that tomorrow likely

Man she's got that sweet green color! She's going to quadline nicely.

My seeds aren't coming until Monday, but it won't matter because I don't have the room for another plant lol.

Her coloring has come along nicely. I am a little upset now that I have trimmed off those nodes I am noticing she is not centered in the sip..... That's going to annoy me the rest of this grow LOL

I have plenty of room in the tent for the new seeds but is does toss #oneplantFULLtent out the window HAHA
