BakedARea's Cultivated Blessings: A Myriad Of Genetics & Shenanigans

Good work on the clones BA, it's always heartening to wake up and see what you did the previous day is looking good.
Indeed!! Now to get my ass outside and mix some soil up and get them transplanted.
For collecting pollen which I've done on my current grow. I separated the male so I could wait for the first pollen balls to mature and begin to open, then the collection method that seemed easiest for me was to cut off some of the pollen ball stems and let them dry over some baking paper before putting them in a sieve to let the pollen fall through and catching it.
Just out of curiosity, how old was he when his first sacs started to open up? He only getting about 12 hrs of light for the past couple weeks. So technically flipped but the days are getting longer. Don't want him to reveg, but those sacs look far enough along that they should open up...right?

Whoa...so much to unpack there, but I first wanted to say welcome back to the site! :ciao:

You certainly got that tent into its big boy girl shoes with those transplants. They all look like high school graduates headed off for college, and the Candida in the grow box with its very own light is going to produce a mighty fine crop of CBD meds for you (mine needs to share its light with 196.9 million square miles of other plants ;) ).

:welldone: on all of it!

Oh, and if you're taking uninformed guesses on the pollen sacs, I'm going with 5 days!

Haaa. Thanks. Didn't feel like I was gone for too long...wait...was I?!

Really excited about this plant. Now to figure out what to cut out and what to leave.

Guesses are good with me! Let's see what happens. I have no idea so 5 days sounds as good as 7.

Good morning Rea!

Garden looks beautiful! Really beautiful:)

Look I tried to overlook the messy back garden pic, I really did, but what the actual fuck is going on here?! I am clutching my pearls so hardddddddd!

Its like looking at a hospital ward where they just leave dead patients in the corner!

Do you use the corpses as a warning to your live plants? Like you don’t grow girls, I will kill you and keep your dead body…

Haaa haaaa!! This little "green" house has been a soil and fertilizer storage for all of fall and winter. I had some squash cuttings that never rooted and died last year. They've been there since last year! Any seedlings or cuttings that weren't used, have been sitting idle in this forgotten corner of my backyard. Just haven't got around to getting it cleaned out and ready for this season.

For the past several years, I plant a bunch of veggie seeds and give them away to the community for their gardens. I setup those shelves to house all the trays needed for the various veggies I usually plant. Just not happening this year. Unfortunately, I haven't even got around to planting seeds for my own garden.

I did get around to getting some of the clones potted up into 2 gal @GeoPot !!! Thanks again GeoPot for sending me these in the recent prize pack.

They all got roughly 1.5 gallons of soil. I added 1 cup of 4-4-4 granular organic nutrients. Then mulched with some bark.
Look @Trala ...NOT dead!!!

I made this soil mix for the clones today.
2 parts expanded coco coir
1 part worm castings
1 part compost
1/2 part pumice

This is the type of tumbler I use to mix my soils.

Looks great Baked! I'm thinking I will use some of my geopots for my garden since I never have enough room in there for everything I want!

Your journal just flows so well, I always appreciate your documentary!

Thanks '82. I need to get caught up on everyone else's journals. Did you harvest already?

Out of all the brands of fabric pots I have used, these are the best! I'm saving all my 7 gal size for indoor only. I won't be dropping these plants in the ground or potting them up into final containers until late May or early June.

Awww thanks '82! I tend to think my journals are too inconsistent and not very good. Haa haaa. Insecurities at their finest!

I will be starting a new journal soon, dedicated to the @GardenofGreen Seedbank genetics in my outdoor garden. Super excited about these. They sent so many varieties to try. I can't make up my mind. I'm thinking of doing a community poll to pick. What do you think?! Or just continue with my indecisiveness and pick for myself?:passitleft:

The photos are all harvested, I just asked them to move the Amazon journal to completed today actually. Probably 2nd and 3rd week of April for the auto harvests

Oh great! I have yet to try them. I'm excited!

Seriously? They are always so well done!!

Ooh that's wonderful, congratulations!! I mean you know as well as I do Baked, you can put a poll up for fun but you end up picking up those seeds with your fingers (or fingers on tweezers )

Hey Baked, I'm thinking 3 days for the pollen. My composter/soil mixer is the same but I haven't tried it that way yet. How's it working for you?
I've got 5 days and 3 days now! Looking forward to shaming one of you for being wrong!
:lot-o-toke: I kid.

I love the composter for mixing my soil. Open it up to empty it out in a tray underneath, and transfer into bigger totes for storage. Reduced my physical mixing time by quite a bit with more evenly mixed ingredients. Most clumps are broken up too.

Hey 420 fam! I hope this post finds you doing well. Sending you all blessings and good vibes.

It's been a test of patience the past few days trying to get the tent environment changed and geared for flower. My VPD has been all over the damn place since adding the new lights. Temps going up and humidity not stable. Not a good time for this to be happening. I'm giving the plants a couple weeks to grow roots in the new pots before flipping. Gives me some time to get things dialed in though.
I had to get the AC unit turned back on. That should help get things stabilized during the day.
Definitely too crammed in there with all the equipment. Going to be interesting in a couple months. :nervous-guy:

Here are the plants this morning.

Duuuuuuude!!! This is a pretty dang plant. I cannot wait to see her in flower.

I forgot to mention that I gave them all more water this afternoon. I sprayed a total of 3 gallons between all the containers. Just filtered water. More water on the larger containers and focused on the edges. I did not soak them after the transplant. Slowly increasing the water content instead over the next week. Forcing them to reach outward while keeping the top moist to keep the feeder roots happy too.

Also, as a side note, I plan on only training C99 (topped) and Rosetta Stone (topped today). I will likely be doing some bending to even them out. Queen of Soul and Space Queen will be grown as noted by the breeder. Like a Christmas tree.

And now some quick pics of the start of training for C99 and one of the Rosetta Stone. I decided to leave the other one as is. Why not?!

Starting with Cinderella 99 and giving her a LST bend all the way over without any snapping.

I hooked the upper third of her and brought her down by hooking the wire to a lower node. Hard to see how I did it in this pic. Has anyone else trained their plants in this fashion here? Figured I would share in case it's new to someone. If it interests anyone, I can attempt to get better instructional pics or possibly a video.

And now for Rosetta Stone #2. Same bending process as C99. Using wire to hook to lower node sites.

Her taller and leaner sister. She just seemed to want to stay and grow straight. So I listened and only topped her.

The rest of the squad. Still seeing some new leaf damage on a couple plants. Possibly wind damage? Plus the vpd being all over the place over the past 48 hrs? Light schedule is 10pm ON and 7pm OFF. Slowly going to fade that to 12/12 after a week like this. Thoughts?

How much do you figure you mix at a time? Any idea? My batch recipe is for 28 gallons, or 3.75 cu. ft. min..

By bin could easily mix 5 cf at a time. I did 4 cf of that transplant mix. 2-3 cf at a time is best I found. Makes for easier tumbling and more space for it to tumble around and break pieces apart.

I could size the recipe for the tumbler. I won't forget this one. I have a pretty good way for now but it gets harder every time. It'll help. Thanks!:ganjamon:

A poll on whether to have a poll.
Classic. And you already have a couple of votes!
