Babygirl’s Sour Livers DWC Hydro Grow Journal, November 2021

A few years back when I owned a Computer store we started selling E-Cigs, back when all you get were the pen type. Anyway I ordered 5k worth of product and got stuck in customs for a month... It was a pain. Mine arrived in Chicago just today, I'm assuming at customs. Like you, I'm praying they don't get delayed. Mine were from Killabeez in the UK shipped on the 29th of Oct.
Glad your beans are at least stateside, if not in your hands yet!

Thanks - I was really hoping to at least have some seedlings by now … *sighs* … oh well, they say good things come to those who wait; and maybe with my seeds being duds at this point, but then winning that voucher for the lights - maybe its the Powers That Be are telling me that this grow will be better for those snafus.
 
??? SURPRISE ???

So while I’m waiting on new seeds, I thought this morning I really didnt have much to lose by trying yet another set of seeds that were in the fridge as well: Mephisto Genetics Sour Livers. But I tried a slightly different approach this time.

At 9am, I took a mini Tupperware container, put 30ml each of 3% H202 and distilled water in it, dropped 4 Sour Livers seeds in and put it on the heating mat covered with a towel. I also took 4 untouched rapid rooters, put them in the seedling tray, and put in just enough distilled water to reach the bottom of the rooters in the cell portion of the tray. Throughout the day, I did drive-bys and if the water was all sucked up, put in that same amount of water again and repeated every few hours until they wee all well hydrated, not drenched, and not sucking up the water.

At 8pm, I took a look at the seeds and I’ll be damned if 3/4 hadn’t cracked their shells and were showing just the teeniest bit of tail! So, not wanting to risk drowning them, into the rapid rooters they went, covered with a smidge of loose rapid rooter over the hole and into the tent they went.

Since my tent temp and RH is still fluctuating, i made sure to put the heating mat under the tray and added the humidity dome, but left the vent about 25/30% open.

Now inside the tray is about 83 degrees (F) and about 80% RH. (Not too hot I hope!)

Im not counting those chickens yet, but we’ll see what the morning brings!

Btw, since you will be in Baltimore, if you and the wife like steak you simply MUST check out a restaurant near the Inner Harbor called Fogo de Chao - not cheap, but its an all you can eat Brazillian steakhouse that is 420% amazing!

My favorite Brazilian Steakhouse!!! I left there on my birthday a few years back and threw up cause I ate so much lmao

FYI @StoneOtter … they have a “stop/go” system … you get a disc that is red on one side, green on the other. When you have the green side face up, they’ll ask you what you would like (I think there are FIFTEEN different cuts of steak to choose from); if you have the red side up it means “not just yet” … then when you’re ready for more steak, flip it back over to green! Rinse and repeat :)

About $50/person but it is SOOO worth it; delicious, quality steak that’s all you can eat and you can have some of every single type if you want or just stick with your favorite till you bust!
 
If you have difficulty getting seeds (like me) cloning is so great. I have 2 Barney’s seeds left, so I tend to seed one, clone two, well it’s meant to be two but it always ends up more.

Atm I have a seedstar in Mimmy Mimosa Eva, a monstercropped clonestar in Tee Bee/Tangerine Dream, which is from a seed I grew last year in October I think, that still lives in clone form and same in Merrie Bee/Peyote Critical. And I have a clonestar Bubbles Bee/Mimosa Eva.

My next seed I will plant is wedding cake, but that won’t be till after I flower these. That way I have a, I forget the word lollll, like revolving grow. Like round and round.

Thanks T - but I only can run autos due to various limitations - size being the biggest and space the next main reason. Its ok - i just gotsta be patient like @Krissi1982 said ;)

They have that system in the one I've been to here too. Interesting. Sausages will be on the list there if we go too! I love them from the place we have. Green up!
 
I may - just MAY - have one seed coming through. Earlier this afternoon (6-8 hours ago) I peeked in the tent and thought I saw something white sticking up out of one of the rapid rooters. I GENTLY moved aside the little bit of rapid rooter from the hole and unfortunately the bloody root was growing UP!

So, I CAREFULLY split open the side of the rapid rooter, and eased the seed with the root into the right position with the seed head was about 1/4” or so below the top of the hole, put the rapid rooter back in the tray, covered the hole back up and watered everything just a bit more (god those sponges soak up water).

Just before going to bed, I peeked in the tent again and it looks like the head of the seed is pushing aside that bit of lose rooter material.

Too soon to tell, but we’ll see. If not, I have rooting solution coming Monday and the first set of my NEW seeds should be here Tuesday or Wednesday.

Woo hoo! First two leaves are out! Teeny bit of membrane on the one leaf, so I just put a single drop of water on that. Gave all the rooters jus a little drink. Maybe tomorrow or Tuesday I may have another?
 
Now, should I re-create the journal since I have a new strain and new lights, or just see if the mods will rename this one for me?
