Babygirl’s Sour Livers DWC Hydro Grow Journal, November 2021

Hi Cjsbabygirl,
H202 falls into the sterile side of things. I tend to run the opposite side and use beneficial microbes and fungi wherever whenever possible.

I just keep a 1L bottle of RO with a touch of nutes and hydroguard /Orca (keep below 100PPM). Ph 5.8

Soon as roots poke out the bottom their ready for transplant. I move them quickly as I can, as I grow Autos and I found its best to get them into their buckets asap.

IntheShed recently shared his H202 soak method.
InTheShed Grows Inside & Out: Jump In Any Time
I was JUST reading that *lol*

Also read online that there is scientific reasoning to back soaking seeds in H202; has to do with oxygenation as well as helping to break down the shell. The article is called “Different Modes of Hydrogen Peroxide Action During Seed Germination” and is found at frontiersin.org which is all about plant science. Lengthy read but good info.

Oh I'm not knocking the h202 soak!! Too many talented growers like Shed have vouched and do it.

But I'm one of those people that always likes to show both sides of the coin, if that makes sense.

My methods are far from the conventional- but they've brought me success. I'm just adding to the conversation :).. .

The key factors are:
  • Seed health
  • Moisture levels within the Seed and medium/environment
  • Warmth
All your doing is trying to recreate a warm spring to get the Seed to Crack like it would in nature. And the more steps added to a process, the higher the likelihood of a mistake (at least for me:rolleyes:).

That's the only reason I share how I do it (furthering conversation). There's soo many different germination methods on here, we all find our methods and tend to stick with them.

Agreed. To each his own. Some methods are tried and true for some and a hell no I won't go for another. Like me, I keep it simple, I work with the soak n paper towel, no dome no heat mat. Rex has his soak and rapid root and heat mat. Morda his h2o2 soak. Some just drop seeds in the dirt and make it work...clearly this is the area you said you need to find your niche at, so hopefully, one of these many methods presented to you will help you achieve success germing when your new seeds get there (and your new light)!

As @Carcass said: “I can be patient - to a point”

And like I said...guuuuurrrlll u best be getting to finding that patience-maybe Amazon started selling some!

At this point though, I know your frustrated on multiple levels for different reasons so I empathize....Things will get better and all your ducks will be in a row soon...right now you don't have ducks, you have squirrels and they are at a rave

*starts searching Amazon for bottled patience, starts playing “Patience” by Guns & Roses, and starts writing 100 million times “I can be patient”*

Hope you're in an empty room with a padded wall while you do that
No but Hubby just asked me why i was sitting in the corner rocking back and forth and sucking my thumb ;)

Getting old seeds to pop sounds fun! I have some to try but not right now. I was searching around and found a couple of good reads. One is a seed co so I won't type it out, but I searched, "germinating old cannabis seeds", the first few will have rqs and other good ones if you're up for a looksee.

I’ll go have a look!

Good morning J-Bird :)

Nice to see another lady grower. Everyone in here is so fancy when it comes to seeds with your damp towel and fuss. I pop them straight into dirt and their heads pop up usually within 4 days.

I am looking forward to watching your grow order and magic :)

If its in dirt and I touch it - it dies. But for some reason I do well with my AeroGardens and my hydro!

Are you growing in water so the roots are exposed?

To be honest, for me with ALL plants going from seed to strong seedling is always the hardest part
I know, right?
I seem to need 3 seeds to get 1 plant- the interesting thing is- I'm not getting any better at it....

Me to a T!

Well, they’re not in dirt, but they’re in a water in a light-tight environment!

I can even keep store-bought chives growing in a glass in my kitchen window for MONTHS. But my herb barrels outside are all dead within a month.

J-Bird stick close to this bloke. He grows like a Green God! I’m not sure if you train yours, but this guy has these Carhooks ™️ and they are a game changer. They have changed both the structure of my plants and increased the yield amount.

Hello you :) I seem to nearly kill them once they hatch. Hey and 1,2,3 back to me. I’m uppotting my monstercropped clones today. They all lived :)
