Babygirl’s Sour Livers DWC Hydro Grow Journal, November 2021

Look at them go!

Bubbles is going to need to new home soon at this rate!! :high-five:
I know - JD’s Fox Farms lineup is supposed to be here by Friday, but I dont think she should wait that long. It may be best to get her into some organic potting soil I picked up yesterday from Home Depot. While it IS a Miracle Grow potting soil, it does not have the “timed release nutrients” for a 3 month feed; it is organic and instead has this:

Think that’s safe for a temporary solo cup home? @Krissi1982 @Jon ??

2021-11-22

Tent temp:
74F
Tent RH: 55%

Liv - Day 16
Res Temp:
68F
PPM: 560
pH: 6.1 … adjusted back to 5.1
Water level: down slightly
Liv is doing VERY well; 4th set of leaves becoming more evident, looks like she might have gained a little in height since yesterday, and she’s got a fast growing set of roots developing!

Lemi - Day 7
Lemi seems to be hanging on - despite not getting taller or showing the first set of true leaves, she has more root growth than noted yesterday.

Bubbles - Day 2
This is one fast growing girl! Not only is she proudly displaying a beautiful first set of leaves, she has roots coming out of the bottom of her seedling cell!

Blueberry auto
This one may be another fast grower; this morning she was barely emerging and leas than 6 hours later she’s already curling out of the ground!

It's seems your greenthumb family is multiplying daily  but that really can't be a bad thing especially when we are trying to grow some topnotch medicine for our needs keep up the phenomenal work, Liv looks healthy....nice. Lemi is being Lemi and just fighting and surviving. :welcome: Bubbles looking good, ready for life and to your little sister as well .....positive greenthumb vibes to all:woohoo:

I'll let someone who actually knows soil answer. You really don't want advice from me on soil, I'm quite certain the only plant I've ever grown in soil survived cause I kept forgetting about it :laughtwo:

@Rexer - I’m personally convinced that my outdoor plants are only alive for that EXACT same reason!

@cjsbabygirl313 Why adjust your pH from 6.1 to 5.1? My understanding is that the ideal range is from 5.5-5.8, but you are good from 5.3-6.5. My pH goes anywhere from 5.6-6.4 and back, and varies based on plant type. Don't you want you pH to slide across that range to allow all available nutrients to be optimized?

My pH tends to rise quick at first and then level off. It goes up to about 6.3-6.5 … I drop it down to 5.1 because with an hour or two its already at 5.3-5.5 - and by doing it this way I can be sure to catch the full spectrum of nutrient uptake.

I was told the following:

Perfect pH levels:
  • between 5.5 and 5.8 perfect
  • between 5.3 and 6.5 good
  • between 5.0 and 7.0 acceptable
  • below 4.5 and above 8.0 disrupted absorption of nutrients
  • below 3.5 and above 9.0 irreversible damage to the roots

Let me look it up I'll be back

I'm back...idk if I would use it personally. There are also root-trients in lawn builders like Scott's. I don't know if that is a play on marketing for them. The girls would benefit more from waiting for good soil rather than be in there and developing at this integral stage with a non sublime product

Ok, I’ll let her ride for now. Tx Krissi!

Anytime...the unknown of soil scares me and I didn't see anything that stood out to me when I looked....and looked, cause that particular one was hard to find lol those types of generic soils that are mass marketed tend to be problematic...even in my actual vegetable gardens

I did find this On the ‘Zon page for it:

Q:Good for Cannabis seedlings? Is there any fertilizer in this?

A: The Nature's Care Organic Potting Mix can be used for all plants grown in containers. The NPK is .15-.13-.15, which is derived from poultry litter, alfalfa meal, bone meal, kelp meal and earthworm castings.
Scotts Miracle-Gro Store

A: I have used this my past couple grows and it has worked well, i believe the nutes are .5 .5 .5 in this soil

I'm surprised your Home Depot doesn't carry it....that stinks..even my Walmart has it idk if you've checked there? The castings and shells sound nice but like I said I just don't know with that brand. I don't want to steer you wrong and say just try it but I see your girls and I know a couple probably will want to move to a home..

High, good, staying busy! Been getting out walking local rail trails lately. It's not likely but maybe getting into better shape.
Good for you :)

Everyone should be exercising at least 30 minutes every day and walking a minimum of 10 000 steps per day. Next to keeping a healthy weight range, it’s the best thing you can do for yourself.

If you don’t make time for your wellness, you will be forced to make time for your sickness.

I see people who inadvertently choose the latter every day in my job.
