just popping my head in to say hi and to appologise for missing a chunk of your journal.
your 1 of 4 journals that is simply moving too fast for me to keep up with so i have abandoned my 'every word' approach for now.
not that im saying people chat too much crap or anything...but ya know, lol
its all good ya gotta do what ya gotta do no worries im not going anywhere ill be here growing & showin, buildin n playing rhymin n chimin lol :thumb:

howdy B.I.D., my son was asking me if you liked that Stempowered site. Oh and he said you have a pretty sweet PC! he built his computer and sid that you had most of the stuff that he built his with. then he mentioned some other things witch left me goin HUH?
well i have "steam" is that what ya mean? i bought mw2 for 20 bucks as a comparison to the onboard graphics and the new vid card,

BTW my new power supply just got here so in a few i'll be sharing the results of that, its an 850watt amd supply by kentek was only 45$ and had 4.5 out of 5 stars, its nice has black wire sheaths and all the plugs and power i'll need and then some, built especially for gamer pc's, i can finally install my vid card:thumb: :adore:

that might have been what I ment but when it comes to computer lingo it sounds like charlie browns teacher talking to me:)

well fffffuuuuuccccccccccckkkkkkkkkkkkkkk! i just installed the new ps and vid card, it turned on for a min but no video so i figured i needed to install the card drivers to get it working and signal out of the card, but now its dead! something went wrong idk how its all pretty simple plugs only fit certain sockets i have been doing this for decades, so i figured the ps was a dud nope cuz after i put the old power supply back in still no worky im ready to jam a white hot poker into my eyesocket, there are no returns or exchanges on the mother board so im screwed and have to deal with the manufacturer directly, color me officially bummed beyond all knowned bummedness

Doode! I thought you had it up and running already. I have had to go backwards when building a computer before...it SUCKS the BID oooops BIG one:winkyface:Have you pulled the new vid card out to see if it was the conflicting hardware? Of course you have...dumb question..still no workie??? :scratchinghead: I have had the same thing happen with computer AND car building; you get NEW parts and they are faulty. It really sucks when it is a fuel pump mounted inside your gas tank! Good luck with this, I hope the problem gets resolved soon for you...:tokin:

heya buddy, what mobo, is it jumperless, does it have on board vid, agp or pci-e
what swap outs have you/can you test ie new graphics with old board, old graphics with new board, psu in another rig e.t.c

does the graphics card need a seperate power lead to it for a boost, is it an sli card thats set wrong?

does the new rig power up? if it does is there any beeps.

i dont have a degree but i been cutting my fingers on the inside of PC's before i cut my wisdom teeth, lol

Re: B.I.D. 3.0 Video Grow - Blue Planet Nutrients - JDL600 - Coco - GLR - 400WMH - Te

i was thinking just yesterday how smooth and easy this build was going everything was working first try right outta the box! see its been pretty consistent over the years that i have to deal with crappystuff happening any time im building a pc for myself, idk why but murphy loves me, i can build pc's all day that work flawlessly as long as they are for someone else, i once built 2 identical pc's for my sister and I she had no problems with hers its still running to this day, i never got more than 2 weeks out of mine, rma'd it 3 times and finally gave up and bought a laptop that was my last pc, still have the case lol but i have faith this will work out well just not as easy as i was hoping.

Re: B.I.D. 3.0 Video Grow - Blue Planet Nutrients - JDL600 - Coco - GLR - 400WMH - Te

its one of the tricky things about sale items. when i used to build them for pay, i kept a money buffer and if i had to order any parts i couldnt get at a local supplier i would buy 2 just in case and i would send one back unopened as an 'unwanted gift' and get a full refund, if however the first needed to be RMA you tell them you had to buy another and want a refund or a credit note for your next purchase. if done right can save you weeks of stress, lol

Re: B.I.D. 3.0 Video Grow - Blue Planet Nutrients - JDL600 - Coco - GLR - 400WMH - Te

this kind of stuff usually happens to me, i go out and buy a ps3 and it breaks within a few hours, i buy my daughter a 3ds and the same happens, screen freezes and console would not switch on after it was turned off, so i usually suffer with the faulty products.

i do a lot of work for the fixya website, i have been trying to solve problems with kindles and touch screen tablets, and from all the research ive done it sounds like static is the cause of the problem, we build up static in our body then we shock our equipment with it, and these shocks can be thousands of volts, but we know volts dont hurt us its the amps, but when it comes to electronics volts from static can ruin a touch screen. same with circuit boards, i used to build and repair nokia phones and had to wear special things that went over my shoes to earth me out, then when i was working with a phones circuit board id put this wrist strap on and plus it into a port on my desk, this earthed me out and made sure i did not damage anything i was working on.

fingers crossed for you mate, i know you cant wait to use it,

Re: B.I.D. 3.0 Video Grow - Blue Planet Nutrients - JDL600 - Coco - GLR - 400WMH - Te

lol static discharge is the biggest killer of hardware.
you get a lot of old timers that think its a myth tho which is fair enough i supose considering.
i miss the days of the 386/486. you could fling those isa components around the room and sit on them and they would still work.
the more advanced electronics get the more fragile they are to our own electrochemistry =(

Re: B.I.D. 3.0 Video Grow - Blue Planet Nutrients - JDL600 - Coco - GLR - 400WMH - Te

the old 386, i remember having a green screen radio shack, had to spend days writing thousands of pages of code just to get a game to play,
but it was most simple then,
basic program would be something like this
10 print "420mag"=
20 goto 10
30 run
that would make 420mag run in lines across and down the screen, damn writing stuff was easy then, but your right you could throw them under a bus and they would still work, i remember the motherboard unit for my 486, its was huge took up over half the desk,

its hard to imagine how we coped with what we had, kids of today would be shocked at some of the computers we had, the amstrad cpc 464 was high tech in its day, i paid 500 quid for it and had to wait 45 min for a game to load from tape, could not save your game either, so you left it on for days or just started again, not much different to a zx spectrum.

but static is a huge problem with todays gadgets, just sliding a phone in and out of your trouser pocket can create thousands of volts discharging into the phone, plus its amazing how products break just after the warranty runs out, you think by now they could design chips and processors that lasted for ever, but they dont and clearly it can be done, look how long some of them old computers lasted, if we hung on to them i bet most would still be working now and as good as they worked when they was new

Re: B.I.D. 3.0 Video Grow - Blue Planet Nutrients - JDL600 - Coco - GLR - 400WMH - Te

i agree, i am a huge fan of miniturisation, but it has its limitations. the problem and the cure is the free market unfortunatly. shrinkage seems to go hand in hand with the disposable culture, which is something i detest. there was a time i wished hard that all things were made out of only glass, wood and metal. i for one am actually looking forward to us running out of oil, perhaps we will get off our asses and demand a 'total renewal' ethos...but we wont as long as they keep making cheap crap and we keep buying it.

i know that one of the first things i want to do if i get rich is to get a bunch of programmers together and make an OS thats as stable as linux and as user friendly as windoze. i rekon i know the secret too...just provide your geeks with an unlimited supply of weed, cheereos and lap dancers and they will be loyal for life, lol.

but yeah i would like to see a range of technology that is built to last rather than built for performance. i think a car should last a lifetime and a computer should last a childhood, just little things like that

ok by my best guess the ladies have been 12/12 since sept 25th thats slightly over 6 weeks since the flip i just spent 2 hours looking thru this journal looking for clues, i do believe i need to put more "grow" data in here like i used to in the first 2 journals, up till this journal and using herb iq i kept a lil calender with that kind of stuff, but i got to trusting in digital data keeping, i restarted the paper calender and will start putting little notes in here like i should have been all along *slaps forehead*

Hey Bid, just caught up with the last page or so and I'm really sorry to hear about your MB issue. I am definitely not a computer tech at all, my forte is audio, but I have run into issues with my past computer and wanted to suggest something. I was trying to troubleshoot an old intel board that crashed on me and I know that part of the troubleshooting process was involving the LED lights on the MB and beep patterns and this might help tell you somthing about the issue... Like I said I don't know if this would help cause I've only built 1 computer before, but might be worth investigating if you haven't already.
Also I remember from troubleshooting that its possible to reset the bios and cmos on some motherboards, some by shorting out the jumpers and some have a button build in for the same purpose. I don't know if this would help at all, but might be worth a shot as a last ditch effort.
Well my friend, hope this helps ya out...I feel your pain with murphy's law...I should be a murphy's law lawyer for all the times I've encountered its appearance. Wish ya luck on the computer!!!!

yeah i run my journal for myself...but i try to keep it slightly entertaining for others to read...lol i think i do quite well considering im a bonifide hermit who's voice fails at the first sign of a pretty woman or a crowd =D
