While Nick has been having all the fun with you guys here, I have been working. Glad he flipped. Now I’m not the only one knocking themselves out to control a tent. Better lollipop then effectively Nick, or whatever it is you do with plants in those cups/small pots/popcorn buckets or whatever they are.

Here’s a nute update on everyone:

Coco/water plants (2)
- Gorilla Cookies res change tomorrow from week 5 Cyco veg (advanced feed chart) to week 1 Cyco flower
- Apple Fritter res change today (pictured) to week 1 Remo flower

Coco 10-gallon beasts
- Gorilla Cookies begins week 1 Cyco flower tomorrow
- Bruce Banner began week 1 Remo flower today
- Trizkit is still squarely in veg and is on week 4 Remo veg

Organic - California Super Soil 3-gallon plants
- Skywalker gets EWC every other watering and RGR every fourth watering. All waterings contain Kelp Me Kelp You and every third also has Wholly Mackerel
- Cherry Pie is on same schedule as Skywalker

Organic - Jon Soil Mix with FFOF - 2.5 gallon plants
- Northern Lights gets the same treatment as the two listed above
- Gorilla Cookies is also the same

Everyone is now in flower except for Trizkit. The two coco chem Gorilla Cookies not yet showing budlets, not is the Apple Fritter, but all three a day or two away. The rest have budlets or the beginning.

Somehow we managed to time our flips and beginning of flower together fairly well Nick!

I know the guy at CBP who does the announcements on the big screen between innings. I’m going to make sure he has a special message for you between innings, so that on top of the entire audience here, 40,000 strangers, most of whom likely are not growers, can share your defeat.

Hell we might even make Sportscenter.

Yes, and as you’ve seen in any of my previous grows, I have a major issue when it comes to actually finishing an auto. I screw up flower every time and will mess this up too, thus handing you an easy win. That about the size of it? Ok. Just don’t tell my last three 10+ ounce autos they don’t know how to finish. This tent is going to yield between 70 and 80 ounces. That’s 4.37 to 5 pounds. Even if I were to finish with only Hardy-esque yield per plant, I’m looking at 3.75 to 4 pounds. Personally I don’t even see you sniffing 4 pounds. So keep it up my keyboard warrior. You’re more fun than a barrel of monkeys. In a Taxi Driver kind of way.

Yeah I know a mess.

So annoyed was I that I maxed the 3000k and bumped the UV (A/B) to about 30-40% The side lights been on all week. I want to lower the solos maybe, - they should be way taller already - see the tent full of OG Kush in solos in another journal. Tomorrow we some side cutters and cable ties have a date. The girl is hot has too, promises it won’t hurt as much as last time.

But yeah try and get some vertical stretch lit these two as well.

Probably some rudimentary inspection and leaf bothering tomorrow. See if I have time. HVAC is the main aim. Also have a new light to play with I’m going to test on some other plants.

Because this tent is basically outdoors even with the attempt at a closed circuit the slightest air gap brings in outdoors air that averages 29c and 75% Rh.

I’ve said it before and ai’ll say it again, growing outdoors in a tent is a tough gig!

This isn’t an excuse by any means. My biggest worry is mould over pests. Once we get it its harvest everything. It just spreads upwards in days. So ai have proper Philips UVC T8 designed for water and surface disinfection. Its dangerous shit. Designed to be used in a sealed box. Eye glass protection not good enough. i’ll use it with a manual switch 30 minutes at a time. Switch obviously located outside of the tent with me standing guard. Having to harvest early because of mould is really where I can lose this super easy.

So improve the HVAC tomorrow, this tent is having its own dedicated AC and the others will have their own. If it tests successfully then it will some insurance for the mould and PM. Probably dose 2/3 times a week. Perhaps from different locations. Bottom and sides. More on that as its tested.

I’m knackered. Got home and a near full cured Runtz x Layer cake nug was waiting in the truck for me. Not been this mashed probably in 2024!

Just had a better look at the girls wanting to meddle and tinker with them.

Pistils starting to show.

That’s after 6 days. For anyone that might find this helpful I’ve flipped 3 different ways in the last 6 weeks.

#1 Standard (what we have always done)

18/6 to 12/12 - Pistils after 8-10 Days

#2 Res Dog 36 Hours Darkness

18/6 to 36 hours of darkness the 12/12 - pistils 10-12 Days.

#3 Gradual flip

Here I went 18/6 - next day 16/8 - next day 14/10 - next day 12/12 - pistils in 5-6 days.

The same OGK strain/breeder was used for #2 and #3

#standard was used the same day as this grow went 12/12 and is behind, by at least a couple of days. They’re a different strain (Banner x GG) but my gut feel is that even a rudimentary nod to the slow changing seasons works better. Perhaps the stress makes them think “wtf?” And hormone production stalls.

Impact on yield I’m not worried about - impact on stretch perhaps. Having flipped at a lower height than last time I’m suddenly worried about vertical growth being too little which I confess is an absolute first!

They’re getting the same lower range fert fix as ever. I can’t see myself changing it.

Dutch Pro we use give a guidance of 2-3ml for their A/B with a target EC of 2.0-2.4*without supplemental Co2.

We used to go 3.0ml and higher and EC around or above 3.0. The basis for this was a well known Prof Bruce Bugbee youtube video on light and Co2 usage from a few years back where he showed with enough light and Co2 the max yield curve potentially makes 3.0 EC useful. In our experience it didn’t and it gave smaller bud sizes.

Now we run the bottom end 2.0ml/litre through out flower and the EC comes in at 2.4 to 2.6 but the bud size is much improved.
We use the rest of their amendments as recommended (Total - an amino type thing and their Bloom Explode, $100 a litre ) as recommended apart from their Silica which we double because its not as strong as the Dr Weed one Jon and ai have both used in the past. That stuff is magic but cost me $100 for 100ml

Cal Mag we use at 2.5ml/litre its 4-0-0 plus Fe. That’s 500ml a fert tank mix

With our lights and gas you even think of dropping it and you insta get signs of deficiencies.

So in terms of the feed mix apart from when we add in and then stop the Explode nothing is going to change from here on out.

Sprayed with Nativo today a fungicide popular in the tropics for anti wilt. Its also used to improve “bag appeal” for everything from cauliflower to nuts. Its legal everywhere but California but that’s for harm to aquatic life - not humans. A couple of forms of wilt are common here. They’ll also get a last couple of neem treatments in the coming days and that’s it.

From here on out lights are maxed, the nutes are set and just a little plant tickling to come.

I dunno maybe I can start watering whilst juggling machetes to make it nore exciting

I would like to try 16 hour days, I have s theory that once you get a photo properly in flower going 8 ON - 8 OFF won’t stall or reveg them.

There have often been those who say more than 6 hours continuous light is wasted without a break. I’d need a new light timer but such things can be bought.

Anyway mid September. Sox likely have tied up a playoffs spot but be crushing. You Quakers long resigned to the fact ‘the season is gone.

The only thing I'm a little worried about the gradual flip is you miss a lot of stretch and possibility to fill out. If you think about the growth spurt you can use it to your advantage and by planning the flip they will still finish at the same time.

Structure and internodal length will be different, in some situations for the better and some for the worse. It's a good tool in any way you look at it!
