Autos v. Photos - A 5x5 No Rules Fight for Yield: A Jon & NickHardy Gig

I found it fascinating that almost every single fix for those flies involved Neem. Specifically Neem. Hardly any said rosemary spray in veg. But that’s literally all it is. Not a tiny bit of magic to it. And there are dozens of equally cheap products that do the EXACT same thing. Yeah, Neem. But if not just get whatever re pure rosemary spray they have. There are literally dozens of products on the Zon that are identical.

Someone tell me why I’m incorrect. Please.
I think I figured it out myself cuz I’m initially Ann idiot sometimes. I guess cold pressed Neem oil is different than rosemary technically. I stand corrected by myself.

A bit tangential but you shoulda read VG on being told she didn’t keep her tent clean which is why she’d ever had pests

She prefaced it with an apology in advance to Rob 😂

The first encounter with these flies was the Blackberry Moonrocks, only they got there late and it stayed way below infestation. And I never diagnosed cuz I thought the damage I was seeing was something else, and the bugs that flew up when the plant was jostled were harmless gnats or something. I realized by the end what was happening but it was too late and I was too busy to further investigate. But even below infestation level, the damage they caused to my leaves affected my bud density in the end. They finished dense, but a fluffy dense, not the rock density as promised on the as growing bud squeezes. Compromised leaves = compromised buds. In light of that I’m lucky my paltry QP I got is awesome.

Appreciate that but I always do. Mostly. Heh.

Photo before the CMH came on. Slightly deeper green on the eyes. A good 12” span on this Blackberry Moon Rocks, got an OGK bigger and some Bubbas the same. Got that VPD way down.m to 1.0 which is as high as I want now. Gas is fine there, might give it another quarter turn but the environment seems a decent 9/10 right now, just need to keep the humidity up for now, as they get bigger it becomes less of a problem, they create their own. And I should get a leaf temp reading with the CMH in there.

-3c so that VPD is likely as low as 0.8. Shooting for 0.9 so all good. The temp will rise as the CMH heats the tent and the background temp rises a touch as well. I even tested the PPM of the fert tank 950ppm

I’m shooting for VPD 0.9 Nutes 900ppm Co2 900ppm and I’m pretty darn close.

I award a solid 9/10 for the environment.

Oh I meant it very much as - You can be meticulous with it, grow in a clean room you can cook up CPUs in. But… At some point the fookers are gonna sneak in.
Ah. Yes I get it and yes that’s their rep. But they’re history. You will not see another.

Oh and by the way:

It is on. The decimation of Nick Hardy begins. I enjoy the ugliness of the plants when first training starts. It fascinates me endlessly to watch them sort it out and adapt. I love training.

Goddamn it. You just kicked my gauntlet to the curb. I wish I could play with my spectrums. Damnit.
There is an "amazing" company, re-writing spectrum usage, coverage, IR introduction, they are: Grand Master Level. very pricey as of now, $1,200 for a "Spectrum light that will do CMH & HPS spectrums"! Yes, see Spartangrown for discounts, I communicate with him weekly. Sales now, Money tight? Just look, amazing LED horticulture lighting! SSgrower

There be Neem here….

Time to kick in our anti whitefly measures. All the organics got SNS 209 today and for perpetuity. It is one of their products that covers whiteflies. Fully organic. Then we got the serious volume of Neem, I prefer the pre mixed stuff you just spray out of the box, but it requires more bottles. Our order of business this morning at wake up:
- top most all the plants
- complete initial training steps on all ready for it
- apply SNS209 to the four organics
- spray the coco plants with Neem top and underside of all leaves
- lights out for brief Neem drying nap (they’ve been 24/0 so far)
- in a couple hours lights back on
- feed
- fill and activate reservoir for the Gorilla Cookies

That’s enough. I start this crap then realize about now that I have a rather work intensive deal here. I’m an idiot.

Thanks for that! I have spmething very very similar to the Tarantula series. Exact same layout, the dials are the same. Looks like they have removable lower core cables into the driver. Mine are sealed rubber grommits, bigger gauge.

I don't see one that’s three dimmers but some of the hardware is exactly the same - such is the way of light manufacturing. Their reds are epitstar same as me, rather than Osram that is often used and also Samsung 301H.

Mine has a indicative price of $1000 but I paid way less for doing some work for them last year.

Playing with the curve is fun until about week 2 from flip. Then everything is maxed 🤣

Ok, both reservoirs are filled and activated.

Gorilla Cookies
67.4 degrees
1120 ppm/Cyco
5.65 ph

Apple Fritter
68.2 degrees
960 ppm/Prescription Blend
5.72 ph

In my limited experience I believe I’m pretty much right on at the moment. I welcome any education.

I'm sure you know this but in case you don't, neem separates quickly, so shaking it as you go is best.
Actually I did not know that so thank you very much.

Bruce Banner

This plant is unreal. At this point I’d say she is a candidate for largest beastly plant. It’s going to go insane. So are the Gorilla cookies and Apple Fritter. Wow.

Jesus the girl cannot be pot. No pot plant grows at this rate just in coco. I thought it was called Bruce Banner cuz the buds were mighty. Apparently the whole grow cycle is mighty. This is my problem child right here. Four of these I can tell already could fill this tent. She gonna push me in training cuz I literally can’t keep up with her. This is my third plant check today, and since that last photo a few hours ago, she has visibly increased in size. Like …. A lot. Look:

More madness. In my experience, for a plant to look like this at this young an age, with practically an entirely formed ring and everything looking as it does here, is extremely rare. I can’t remember seeing one that I’ve grown ever show off to this extent at day what, 22 or whatever? It’s really crazy and plants like this which are like 1 in 100 I will sometimes refer to as special. This would be one of those.

If pure bulk and a gigantic plant with gigantic hand sized fans and thick, powerful branching is your thing, perhaps the Gorilla Cookies would be a good fit:
