I don't get tremendous yield, though that could be due to other factors. Things still don't go totally smooth start to finish for me. My best yield so far was about 1 1/4 ounce per plant though. Finished in 3 gallon pots, flowered when they were about 2 feet tall. I probably could have got a lot more just with larger pots and more veg time, not to mention without the random brown-thumb issue. Not to mention that's soil, I'd imagine a good DWC scrog setup could push out far more under 400w. Well I don't so much imagine as much as I've seen it done, but I try to stick with what I know, and I don't think an ounce per plant is a bad yield.
I appreciate the input, we all will get better with time my friend.✌

Watts/ft2 isn't a remotely viable way to measure LED efficiency. Ever. And I wish people would stop. The watts/ft2 descriptor was used with HIDs when the actual most efficient use descriptor has been and will always be, the footprint of the hood/PAR reading of the bulb.
For instance, a 1000w HPS in a typical hood has a usable efficient footprint of 5'x5', with about a 1'x1' outer edge totaling 6'x6'. A Gavita DE HPS runs 1100w with a typical footprint of 5'x7' prime.
An LED like a Mars Hydro typically has a usable footprint of about +8"-10"/sq. from the actual size of the light array when raised over the plants to adequate height-so a 12" square light's usable footprint is maybe 20" prime light. Of course, entry level LED lighting has shite canopy penetration, so one would have to SCROG for best results.
In a standard 4'x4' tent, an air cooled, 600w HPS bulb delivers so much more usable light than typical LEDs that it makes no sense to me why anyone wouldn't use them.
LED tech has come a long way, but it's got quite a ways to go until affordable, commercially available units come along that can compete with HID.
I just have a small setup and for me the led is much better, i have seen great results with led, i think it is more of a preference thing with most people.✌

I will have to make do with my mars 1200 this go but i will be getting more lighting and another tent soon. Thanks for the info.✌
The 1200 will do you fine. You won't be disappointed :)

Thanks SnarlyWeed for the info, i am loving the light so far.✌

Don't let a whole bunch of techno-babble scare ya away. Most of us just relay from our experience. :peacetwo:

Awesome, i love the light and i am seeing great results on day 28 with autos, i think it will do me just fine for now, i just wanted some opinions, i greatly appreciate the input, by the way how close did you keep your mars 1200 from top of your plants, i have mine at 24in now and they seem to be doing good.✌

I hung it with the supplied cables and left it there the whole grow. Final distance when they stopped growing was around 18 inches.

Thanks alot man, i am on my first indoor grow, i am excited to learn the plant, also learn different methods of lst and growing. I try to do as much reading and looking through other growers journals as i can. Its all new to me but im learning.✌

I got gnats in my soil how do I get rid of them? A friend sprayed armadex ( not sure if I spelled it right) but that didn't help what do you guys feel I should use? I'm in week 2 of flower bty thanks

Thanks for the reply, I've been following that thread already. Lol. Can you tell me how to contact Sarah? Also, what do you mean by training the plants?

Not to butt in......but! To humblely butt in...take a look at CKS Dwarf Low Flyer...PERFECT auto for both beginners and those with a lack of space. Only gets to 24" tall, so no need to train (unless you want to play with it) But it's a perfect grower' s confidence builder....I have one I'm doing now, as basic as I can...using nothing but tap water and molasses. Happy Growing.

Place a layer of sand on top of your medium, place yellow sticky cards around the plants.

You came to the right place then. I learned so much on my first grow from the people here. And now here I am with a tent in flower, and another tent ready to flip on the 10th of this month, 2 days from now, and a bunch of mason jars with 7.6 oz curing.
Patience is the hardest to learn lol. You will do fine my friend :thumb:

Anyone got some advise on distance from 300w led to canopy??
12"-15" should do her good. Before I got a KIND K3, I had a no name 400W LED that I kept at 12" the entire time throughout a few grows. I'm in the process of finding the right distance for my K3, but I might can get dwn to 12"....kinda of skeptical though, being it's suppose to be a top of the line LED....Trial & Error is the name of the game, Hoah!

Thats close but if they dont show signs of heat/light stress you're good. Id probably start around 18". I started my light at 30" above my seedlings, the light draws 540w from the wall.

I think the mars hydro 300w only pulls 130 true watts out wall but I'll have a look I read a thread that said the problem with leds is the baby's show light stress after a week don't know if I'd be able to tell after a day or 2 also one of my babys is light green compared the others could this be strain?
