Newbie needing guidance on topping, lollipopping and supercropping outdoor plants

You are correct in that they will handle a mild temp change easier than an extreme total environmental shift. They will figure it out but it could stunt them temporarily.

No such thing as too much sun light, just not the right nutrients and water to support it. Most people move pots to keep them in the sun. Grown many a plants in the middle of a corn field. I got sunburnt hauling water but the plants were perfectly happy sunbathing.
Growing gorilla style?

:passitleft:Never learned to crop, but had my dog crop a plant once  took just the top off prefect.

Now I know between nodes form 3-6 Thank you 013 :adore:
Animals do like to throw us a curveball now and again, sounds like yours was a good thing though! Thank goodness neem oil is not toxic for animals. I had 8 plants that were in 1-gallon containers that I sprayed with neem oil and transplanted into 5-gallon containers. I had my plants sitting on a picnic table and a puddle of it formed. Next thing I knew my dog was on the table licking it up. Today I sprayed a plant that was in a 5-gallon container and transplanted it into a 50-gallon container. All my plants are in fabric containers, and I had leftover neem oil, so I decided to spray the fabric pots with it and gave my plants another light spray. Next thing I knew my dog was licking my plants. No damage done.....but I was worried about deer......not my dog eating my plants! Needless to say, they got tomato cages until I come up with a more permanent solution.

"Helped" five different family members when I was a kid. From research labs to back in the woods. Grew on my own, gorilla style, for 15 years. Stopped growing for 7 years (first wife). Been indoors for the last 20 years with a couple gorilla grows for shits and giggles.
I don't know if it will count as gorilla growing since I plan on asking for permission but I plan on asking my neighbor if I can utilize their field for a few plants next year (We have a limit on how many plants are allowed per household. I should have checked the limit myself sooner versus taking other's word because I was told you can have 10. Not until I started my plants did I look up and find out it's actually 4 plants. However, as long you have less than 10 it is a civil penalty with a $250 fine so I am going to chance it this year because I can't bring myself to get rid of any of them.) A few years ago they offered to let me use their field to grow some plants and in exchange, I help take care of theirs because they are a truck driver and they are on the road a lot so it's hard for them to care for them. I declined at the time because I was recovering from back surgery and my daughter was just a toddler and it would have been too much for me.

Now, they were referring to growing tomatoes and corn, but I am sure if I show them that it is legal, they will be okay with it. Their field hasn't been used in a while and needs to be tilled but it would be the perfect spot because it gets direct sun all day. Also, many plants that are recommended as companion plants for cannabis are already growing in their field.

Stealth growing remotely outside is still gorilla grow in my opinion. I was always more concerned that thieves would find my plants before any law enforcement. Do you have regulations on securing your grow space there or just can not be in view?
I would talk to neighbors but don't mention you are already growing until you are sharecropping the land. No point in handing over ammunition until you are defiantly on the same side.
Here there is no limit on possession amount on private property. But we are regulated on number of plants. The state definition of a plant is having roots, stem, and leaves. Clone cuttings that haven't rooted and drying plants do not count. Once you cut the stem at the roots it no longer counts as a plant. Check your states definition. This could get you into or out of trouble real quick.

The way I see it a guerilla grow is one where the owner of the property does not know that their land is being used. They will try to avoid calling attention to their grow by having it on any land that could be traced back to themselves or people they know. Good chance that if the landowner did find out they would not approve and probably call the police. The guerilla grower plans it so that they are not seen moving into or out of their spot. And, they leave as little evidence as possible that they have been there. Guerilla gardeners will often wear clothes with brown or green colors that match the plants in the area to reduce the chance of being noticed. Think of guerilla fighters who slip in and out of an operation and are rarely found out or caught but they want their actions to be noticed by the public and the government.

I would have a stealth grow when there are plants in my back yard or I made arrangements to grow on a neighbors property. While it is legal to grow in my own backyard I cannot by law have the plants visible to the general public under ordinary circumstances. Thing is the plants are visible if someone looks in the right direction but I put in flower gardens to distract someone walking or driving by. I openly walk around the yard in ordinary clothes as another distraction. I figure that it is a stealth grow.

Over the last few years there are or have been a few growers in the group who are close to being guerilla growers. But for the most part the majority of us are just trying to grow a plant or two without letting people see that there is something right in front of them.

Plants cannot be in public view or accessible to anyone under the age of 21. I am on 2.5 acres of land and my neighbor has more. I can only see this one neighbor because we are surrounded by woods on both sides and the back of us. We are down a really long gravel driveway so nobody can see us from the road.

My husband grew up a few houses down from where we live now and has known a few people who lived in our house before us. Everyone my husband spoke to about our neighbor told us he was a big a.. hole but we get along great with him. Our neighbor tells us we are the best neighbors that have lived here too. Our dog has even made his house her second home. I don't think we would have any problems from him and only a fool would dare trespass on his property as he is the type to shoot first and ask questions later and he has plenty of signs posted down the driveway warning people of this. One of the signs states the speed limit is 10 mph. Needless to say, we have had a few delivery people very distraught because my neighbor stopped them at gunpoint to tell them to slow down.

We also have no possession limits on private property. We can have an oz on us in public. The VA Cannabis Authority is who regulates cannabis in our state. Their website doesn't spell out what classifies as a plant so I am going to have to do some digging to find out. BTW...good tip, thank you!

With cannabis just recently being allowed for recreational use I think some laws need to be re-evaluated. They tried to pass a recreational retail market in my state but the governor vetoed the bill. So, state law says you are not allowed to purchase seeds or plants (I didn't realize this when I bought my seeds either. I figured since seeds have no THC it would be allowed like it is on the federal level). Someone has to "gift" you seeds and/or plants. Same with weed. You cannot purchase weed either, you have to grow it or someone can gift it to you. Nothing of monetary value can be exchanged. This is very unrealistic. Nobody has weed and/or plants to just give away....especially with this just recently being allowed. Nobody here even knows how to grow a plant that would produce anything worthwhile, or when to harvest, or how to trim and cure. Currently, we have pop-ups, which are illegal. You never know when or where they will be until they are happening. They are by invitation only but a bunch of sellers will come together and announce where they are. They set up shop for a couple of hours then disburse before law enforcement can show up.

I am lucky. I live on 2.5 acres, and my only neighbor has even more land, so we are not on top of each other. We are surrounded by woods on the sides and back and are way off the road so our houses are not visible from the road. I wouldn't dare go on my neighbor's property without them knowing.......if they saw someone on their property and didn't know who or why they were there they wouldn't hesitate to shoot. That being said our neighbor is very cool with us. They even cut some trails in their field so my daughter can ride her 4-wheeler through it.
