Yeah, it's why I preach to wait until you visibly see aggressive veg growth. Once they have hit that point it seems like you can do almost any training without causing them to slow down. I'll decide whether to defoliate them one last time today and the flip is near!

Thanks for the compliments on the flower girls. At this point I just can't wait to smoke them. They smell incredible.

See vigorous growth before the top or the training?

I top just after the 4th node has grown in a bit. Sometimes the 5th node is showing and I still top down to 4th. Either way the plant is still small when I top it and not quite in vigorous growth mode. When it bounces back from the topping and get on a roll is when I see vigorous growth and start training.

Veg Day 39

I did my last major defoliation before the flip. I still intend to flip in 3 days. If it bounces back like I think it will, all will be good. Just thought I'd note that I did some defoliation even though I said recently I wasn't going to do anything else. I couldn't help it. They should look really good for the flip and be nice and even.

Veg Day 41

Who needs updates on the girls in flower anyways right? Well my lights don't come on in that tent for about 4 more hours so no pics today. I've been more focused on the training the veg girls anyways. I've got a soccer match to go to and my team is playing for the Western Conference Championship (PTFC!), against a rival no less. Should be good times and I don't anticipate being too sober the rest of the day. If they win there will be beer flowing all over downtown. That's why I am getting this update done early today.

These girls have all day today and all day tomorrow before the flip. I noticed that the leaves were all very light green on about half the leaf so that means they are growing really fast and recovered from the defoliation. I shouldn't have any stunted like my Lost Coast OG was this time since they are all going at this pace. The next time you see these girls it will be Day 1 flower and they will look a lot more filled in, just in time for a good week of transition.

Starting from top left going counter clockwise...

Cindy 99 - Started off the smallest by a few days but caught back up. Ended up being as big as the Lemon Venom but looks a whole lot stronger and less lanky.

Lemon Venom - Was my biggest from the beginning but also the most lanky. It was also the tallest.

Ice - Didn't seem to like the training and defoliating all that well but fought through it. I think this one will have the least colas that reach the canopy and will probably be the smallest, but not by a whole lot. It is the most compact though.

Jack Horror - Has stayed at an even pace the whole time. It seems to recover fast than the others when defoliating and training.

Looking good. Cindy looks set up very nicely. Hope you get some nice colours out of her - I think it was Feral that had Cindy recently that took on a nice red colour late in flower.

Stay as long as you want. After this one there is always more on the way! I actually do a 4-way "mainlining". I call it quadlining and I just got done doing it on these girls. If you skip back a few pages it is less then a two week process and I just finished. Mahalo for the kind words and welcome!

Hey Ase
Purple Kush is looking....kush! (as in the way The Brits use the word). Listening to you & PW r.e. Scrog vs Topping/Supercropping is exactly what I wanted to hear cos making a Scrog screen/screens is beyond my DIY capabilities & I kinda enjoyed my 1st Supercrop experience. Definitely keen to try your quadlining technique soon. Respect.

Scrog nets are simple Anna. Don't go the screw route, thats a lot more work. Get a net and some zip ties and some PVC pipe. You will also need scissors and PVC cutter and a tape measure.

1. Measure the size scrog you need. Cut your 4 pieces of PVC into the correct size (Make sure you factor in the 90 degree elbow in what you measure).

2. Piece the PVC and elbows together to look something like this.

You can use PVC cement if you want to or just slide them in place.

3. Zip tie one side of the net into place.

4. Start zip tying the remaining sides, making sure to pull it nice and tight.

5. Zip tie your final side into place. Cut all the zip ties to make it nice and purdy.

This is what it will look like. Took me about 30 minutes to make this
