Ase's Perpetual Fun With Coco

Thanks for the info brother!

Only a pleasure bud.

Dinafem has produced some fire over the years, i have super iced grapefruit in my stash also. .

Just smoked some of their strawberry amnesia. The super frosty pheno from my last run. It is not a velvet hammer. It is a hammer strapped to an H-bomb.

I'm jealous of your super iced grapefruit. I want to try more of their strains now.

I'm in the same boat. I have always had great results from anything Nirvana. Feminised seeds co and Humbolt seed co are a close 2nd and 3rd for me. Gorilla seedbank carries them all so that makes it easy for me. I'm anxious to see what I get in my prize pack from them. I know I will be growing Gorilla Glue from Feminised seeds for sure. I really want to try the Super Iced Grapefruit, Strawberry Amnesia, Viva Sativa and Double Berry but will have to wait until next order I do.

On a side note, Crop Kings Seeds was fast and professional again. Already have my seeds that I ordered and got 7 of each, just like last time I won. Nothing wrong with that at all. I did tell them that I was growing a Purple Kush from them and they should check it out and that was the last I heard from them.

Sherry at Gorilla Seedbank is fast and professional too but when I thanked her for the freebie Purple Envy's last time and told her to check one out she did. We had a good couple of emails back and forth and you just leave the conversation with a good taste in your mouth and you know they actually give a crap about how you represent them. Still not a bad experience ever from CKS but that's the difference between the two of them in my opinion. I'm a business guy so if I place an order and I get what I ordered in a timely fashion then that's a win. I don't need all the good emails and everything but knowing that if there ever was an issue that Gorilla Seeds would be easy to talk to is a nice safety net and Sherry just plain rocks.

Yes Lisa at CKS was very proffesional and got things done quickly, Sherry was more hands on and i came away with way more than i won. Both made sure i walked away with way more than i won. I cant say anything bad about either seed bank.

Yeah I really do think CKS has changed a lot from what I had read before. It's hard to compete against Gorilla Seeds though when they have Sherry. I really don't think you can go wrong either way and it's really nice they both give you more than you win. Gorilla does hook it up though. Always fun to see what else Sherry includes.

In my personal experience I can't say anything bad about either one as well. However, I can say that Gorilla Seedbank has always gone way above and beyond whereas CKS is strictly professional. Both seem to be great options and we are lucky to have good sponsors on this website. I hope I can continue to showcase my prizes from both of them and get more people to purchase seeds from them as well. That is the way this all should work.

Im planning on running seeds this winter from both banks and give them both a little shout out. Probably Crown Royale and Super iced Grapefruit.

I will be running seeds this winter from both as well, like I am doing with my current grow. We may have to have a battle of the Royales though! ;)

Veg Day 31

I normally do not do back to back posts but I want to show how fast the veg girls are growing and how they are responding to training. I haven't done too detailed of a post on my training so maybe I will do it for these girls.

This would be about 18 hours after I did the training to the Ice yesterday.

More training today. Plants are all growing really fast. 11 days to flip might not be a stretch after all if they continue to grow this fast.

Nirvana is one of the most underrated breeders I think. Their White Rhino is phenomenal. I will definitely be running it again.

My experience with CKS is different. I got the distinct impression they didn't want to deal with someone from South Africa, but anyway, maybe my experience is an anomaly.

Gorilla is holding onto my replacement seeds for the ones confiscated by customs. I think I will ask them to send it at the end of this month. Can't wait to try Dinachem.

I have 3 beans of the Strawberry Amnesia, someone else said it was bomb also. .

You won't be disappointed. There seems to be alot of variance in that strain. I got 3 phenos from 3 beans, but all of them were good. :thumb:

You wont be able to tell anything was done tmro

I'm not going to post more pictures but I ended up going down there before bed and they looked normal again so it only took about 6 hours. I trained them again and when I got home from work they looked normal again, about 12 hours. Girls are growing like crazy. Going to go visit them again and do it all over. I'll probably be adjusting them twice a day for about a week and then another week to just let them grow vertical before the flip. I love this point in the plants life-cycle.

Dinachem sounds good. That's nice you're getting replacements. Glad they're taking care of u. Cks had changed I've heard. Can't say cuz I never dealt with them before the change.

Flower Day 44 - Veg Day 33 - Veg Training Method

This post will focus on how I train but just a quick update on the flower tent girls that are swimming along. I would say like normal but by now I usually have a little deficiency showing here and there. I had made some small adjustments to my feeding schedule and updated it in the middle of this journal (I think it's page 40 on the webpage and 20 on the app) and maybe those were correct decisions after all! All 3 of these girls are still healthy and happy and that A-OK with me.

Quadlining - How I Train in Veg

Up until this point I have basically just kept spreading them out 4 ways. In mainlining you do this with 2 branches instead of 4 so this was my way to do something similar but cut out a lot of veg time. I take garden stakes and tie rubber tomato ties around them and then place them in coco pots, one for each branch. I then bend the tomato tie in a hook shape and hook the branch somewhere near a node. I dont pull too hard but use the hook of the tomato tie as a guide.

Today I started pulling on them harder to keep the 4 main branches horizontal but with just a slight vertical angle to them. I read about it once but it has to do with the enzymes and whatnot and the messages it's sending to the plant whether it is growing completely horizontal or has some vertical to it. It made sense to me so I've always done it this way whether it was true or not but I have noticed less slowing down if I make sure they aren't 100% horizontal. If you had time for a long veg time keeping them horizontal will result in more strength. I also added 4 more stakes with tomato ties right behind the ones I did a little while ago so now each branch has 2 holding it in place.

I also am doing some slow twisting to make sure the nodes are even. It's a little hard to explain but the first nodes will both be even and face towards the light. The second nodes will have one facing the light and one way away from the light. Every other node does this and if you don't slowly twist the one not facing the light always ends up garbage. When you are twisting you are slowly breaking the cell membranes of the walls (whether you feel it or not) and allowing the plant to stay in that shape and reharden. The twisting allows the node that isn't getting light to be even now with the others and grow evenly.

I have messed up on this training day two grows in a row now and I am happy to report nothing was damaged today that I could tell. It is pretty easy to break a branch when pulling it around so you have to be careful. The more times you do it the easier it gets but it is why my plants look the way they do. From here on out basically I will just let it grow vertically and stretch it out some but I will leave the ties in place until the plant is done stretching in flower. I did take another set of 8 big fan leaves off each plant as well.

Jack Horror before looking like 4 main colas. Those 2 big fan leaves on each budsight were defoliated today equaling the 8 I pulled from each plant

Jack Horror after. You can see those 4 main budsights before are now tied down and there are actually 8 budsights forming in the middle. That is 12 if nothing goes wrong. Well a few are bound to not stretch like the others and need to be cut down so I want the next set of budsights to grow vertical as well giving me 8 more or 20 total. When I have to cut a few off I will have between 12-15 colas and hopefully plants that looks like my Purple Envy.

Veg tent all trained up. All the girls are at the same node and growing at the same pace. If today doesn't slow one more down than the others then I think I will have 4 healthy girls going into flower. Now it's just a waiting game to see if I think they will be ready in 9 days for the flip.

Interesting training method, i just thought the nodes would twist around on their own to expose new shoots to the light.

They will eventually if you have plenty of time for veg but sometimes they just don't see light and stay tiny. I usually end up chopping them off after stretch as they just don't get to canopy level. I want to flip them by week 6 so I don't have a lot of time to wait for them if I want to hit my goal. I like to try and keep things as even as possible all the time so they all get light, eliminating the chances of it stunting.

The flowering girls are looking great. Lost Coast is showing size doesn't matter!

Thanks for the veg guide. Really interesting that you twist. My thought was that twisting would reduce the plant's ability to grow, but obviously you haven't found this to be the case.

In the plants I just harvested, I left some of those outside nodes and almost always hated the outcome. So in my round 3 veg girls, I've just been taking them off rather than wasting time and energy on them.
