Ase's Multi-Strain Quadlining In Coco

Very impressive growing I'm subbed:goodjob:

Day 17 Flower ATFs - Day 9 Veg Multi-strain

Lets start with some bad news! The Durban Poison once again failed (How many thought I was going to say I found a male?). I am planting one last one and if not I will fill the space and quadline one of the ATF clones. You will no longer see me support Crop King Seeds as most of the stuff I have grown from them really has been all over the place. It was free and I likely won't even complain because I've got lots of other options but the only thing I've really grown from them that I would do again was the Crown Royale. The one I grew has been amazing and my go to smoke at night to get me to the point of relaxation that I like to be at.

So far from Crop King Seeds I've grown:
1. Crown Royale - Great bud structure, plant size and above average yield. In it's prime one of the top 5 smokes I've grown.
2. Green Crack - Good bud structure, tiny plant size and yield. Smoke is great but plant was so small and below average yield.
3. Purple Kush - Terrible bud structure, huge lanky plant and great yield. Smoke was okay but not great.
4. Cali OG Kush/Haze - Plant was good sized but hermed after stretch. May have been my fault with heat but others in the tent did not and were exposed to same conditions.
5. Durban Poison - First time ever not getting a seed to germ at all. Next seed sprouted and just died. Never have had any problems getting things going from seed so I know it's not my system that's at fault. Also 3/3 on the seeds I planted with it and they are all fine and exposed to same conditions.
6. CBDream - Jury is still out because girlfriend is doing this grow but no issues yet and all plants look to be a good size.

I appreciate the free stuff and their contributions to these forums but I made it clear that I had no issues with them before. Plenty of others have had issues between customer service and getting inconsistent seeds. I just wanted people to know that I have a large enough sample size now and the inconsistency with their products really is frustrating as a grower.

Anyways, the ATF clones all got stripped and I planted them deep in their new homes. Roots will start sprouting out the stem now so no big deal that I put them all they way down in the pots and then just covered it with treated coco. No need to really show the small girls as nothing has changed much and the Durban Poison news is out of the way.

Before
After. A little stressed from the defoliation/transplant and big watering. The little one will be going to a new home tomorrow so that is why I didn't transplant it. It will become an outdoor plant at a friends house as we have had some really bad windstorms and she told me the wind blew over and broke like 75% of her plants. It was the least I could do as she was pretty sad about it. They were regular seeds too so that's a small likelihood of even getting a female and this way she will for sure get one. It's her first grow and I don't want it to be a total disappointment as she is trying really hard.

The bounceback went really well with the flowering ATFs but they keep stretching! I'm going to assume I see the 3 big ones start to slow down a bit. I'm hoping the back right one gets a boost as it has the fewest hairs on it out of the bunch so maybe it's a couple days behind the other. That would be a great surprise.

Hey I told you they stretch! And be glad they dont have the f1 vigor or the stankberry. I've never seen a plant grow like these.

Going to be some killer colas there ase!
I told u those Stankberry plants are some serious growers! Excited to see yours flower Dabber.

Ase.....all caught up after a short vacation. SCROG is looking awesome. Glad u had confirmed all ladies! Time to sit back and enjoy the show!

I'm pretty happy that 2 of them are qualified candidates to be a mother plant too. There was a lot of work determining sex and doing all that so I am going to keep one around for a while since I know it's a beast. I've learned quite a bit so far about regular seeds and determining sex pre-flower. It's taken a lot of work to this point and adjusting things everyday but you are right. Now it is time to sit back and enjoy the show! Hope you had a good mini vacation.

Small news but seed #3 of the Durban Poison has popped and a taproot has come out of it about 1/4 of a centimeter. I am going to wait until it is at least 1cm or a little larger to plant this time just know it's growing well.

Also got a fun #trunkshot as Newty likes to say. In a 5 gallon pot, these plants are massive. Held up by some huge quadlined branches.

That's the way we like em.

Not 100% sure on this but I do think that this is some of the earliest scaling I've had on plants. They are beginning to turn into trees and not just plants anymore. 8 more weeks left which is a lot of time for these to beef up.

morning mr.A I spent an good cpl hours yesterday hitting your journal from start to finish so I'm clued up properly on the #quadsquad...

I'm just trialing it with a Bagseed as I do have a plan, a horrid smeegol plan...lol
Your ATF Scrog is in beast mode right now, and good call on removing the centre lady, let Mother Nature work her magic on that lil lady...

Top o the evening to you..

I hope you learned a thing or two! I'll come check out your journal when you get them going and start trying the quadlining. I'm anxious to see your plan! I'm a little biased but I think you'll like trying out quadlining. Most people really like the results.

I like the trunk shots too! When they grow into that from where they started.....you just know the roots are doing great!

I love the scaling. It shows the plant is really getting ready to support weight. My first few grows had little scaling but to your point, when the roots go crazy the rest of the plant does and I've had pretty good scaling ever since introducing my root enhancers into my feeds.

Morning mr.Ase, at the moment Im just trialing it, but I do have a awsome idea for doing a quad outdoors in my veg garden...
If my judgement is correct it will be in a 600lt planter, don't know how the hell but I'll get there... Just trying to think what strain would work well from what I have if the postal service moves it's butt.

Day 21 Flower ATFs - Day 14 Veg Multi-strain

The 3 larger ATFs all have pretty much stopped stretching and started budding. I really am excited to see the colas develop. These things are a true sativa and have stretched more than I thought they would so I'm interested to see if they stack well or just turn into a bunch of golf ball like colas that are really dense like my Ayahuasca Purple did in the past. I decided to show a bit of a different angle from the side of the tent so you can see how much shorter that one is than the rest. It is stacking really well though and I still see a lot of fresh green on her so I think she has a few more days of stretch left. I bet I get another inch or so out of her and she will be half the height of the others.

Budsights or "buttons" forming on one of the taller ones. Almost time for another big defoliation.

The veg tent is looking nice. The ATF clones are enjoying their new homes and were topped yesterday. They all have a different number of nodes so won't exactly be quadlining these. One will be a mother and the others I have no idea what I am going to do with. The good news I have for today is that the 3rd Durban Poison finally popped and actually rooted this time. It is almost a full two week behind but what the heck. I'll give it a shot as I am going to need the variety after having a lot of ATF coming my way soon. I may boost it with a little extra nitrogen to see if I can get some extra growth out of it so it can catch up.

ATFs are looking great Ase! Love that you got some good stretch out of them. They tend to be stackers so I would lean towards them stacking into massive colas. They are good yielders so you should be swimming in buds!
