Ase's Multi-Strain Quadlining In Coco

Stretching really fast, it'll be a forest of colas in no time.

The net will go up to a point where I really like how the nodes stacked. I will defoliate anything below that. However I have to keep in mind that some plants will be bigger than others so I can only bring it up so much. If I get a lot of the stretch from all of them over the next few days the net will go up as far as it can. I love that it's adjustable with the bungee cords. Such a good way to do it. I think adjustable scrogs are a must as you can give and take with them as the plants grow.

Going to be busting out the tent seams. Looking good Ase
Might need to thin it out a bit so it's not overcrowded! That's a good problem to have and I'll know more in about a week. I'll do my usual after stretch defoliation and that's when I'll have to make that decision.

How does the bungee thing work

I bought a set of multi-length adjustable bungee cords. I use them for everything. My net hangs from 4 (one in each corner) and I can adjust them however much I need as I want to let the plants up a bit. When I first started this I had to use a water bottle to feed the plants because that is all I could fit under there. As the plants grew I raised the net little by little and then I could use a big taco bell cup to make feeding easier. Now I can use my normal water pitcher as they are tall enough. For a few weeks it was such a pain to defoliate and feed these girls but now it's pretty easy. If I couldn't adjust the scrog I couldn't have done all this. I would have had to of settled for watering being a pain all of flower or my plants growing really vertical before training which would have been a lot more difficult to get it nice and wide to cover the whole net.

I went with auto system to water under a scrog, hand watering is chore.

I'll get there eventually. It just keeps getting pushed back on my lists of things to do since it isn't a necessity but rather an upgrade. Running multi strains and having plants be different sizes most of the time, they drink at different rates. Hand watering allows me to give one each different amounts. Other than that, I just need to make it a higher priority. Now with the whole career path change in front of me it will likely keep getting pushed back again.

No I made an auto watering system. Working on a second one for the other side of the flower tent and maybe a third one for my veg tent. That's how much I love getting under my plants.

I m so glad of my diy watering system. It makes it so easy! Just have to adjust my solution in a 7 gal rez then I m gone for one week! I the water pump is plugged on a wifi outlet. So I can even go out of the house for multiple days without worrying. I also have an ip camera to check everything is going well!

Just started lurking around 420 again, and im glad I did as I found this journal!
Just caught up, looks like I found you at a good time, that scrog is looking the goods!!

Thanks for keeping the journal so detailed.. its peaked my interest into custom NPK ratios and just generally made me want to improve on the quality of my own grows :Namaste:

I appreciate it Hoot! I really try hard to be as detailed as I can be so people don't have to ask too many questions and can follow along without having to sift through a lot of random talking. At least I try to stay that way for my updates. I always strive to get better and better and if you are using a basic formula like what the bottled nutes say or something like the Lucas Formula than it can always be better!

I was recently at a bigtime dispensary in Washington State. Looking through their flower my stuff looked better than their top shelf and I couple friends I was with agreed (I have very honest friends and a girlfriend, if they didn't think it was better they would have let me know, that is just how we are with each other). That's where I wanted to be when I first started growing, basically growing stuff that was either top shelf or even better. It would cost around $80-$90 to get a 1/4 off a dispensary of top shelf. I could make that last a week if I tried but with growing high grade stuff I am able to consume however much I want and have 8-12 different strains jarred up at a time. Not to mention that I'd argue that most of it I would classify as "stuff you just can't buy" at a shop. That's really what you should strive for because it's awesome!

Once again thanks for the compliment and if you have some questions feel free to ask.

Day 15 Flower ATFs - Day 7 Veg Multi-strain

The Durban Poison I replanted to be the replacement for the first one had definitely sprouted a taproot this time when I planted it in the coco. I figured it'd be up by today but maybe it'll take one more day. If it doesn't I'll likely just throw in one of the ATF clones as the 4th. Don't know why the Durban Poison is so toucy but it really is. @JustMeds nailed it when he said they were finicky. Either way I just hope the darn thing sprouts tomorrow.

The ATFs got their stretch on. Well at least two really did. I have clones of both so likely I'll keep them in veg and maybe use one of them for my single tent plant grow thing I've wanted to do. It would be nice to know what the growth is like before even starting to make sure I wasn't growing a stunted plant (like the middle one I had to prop up in the tent). We will see but I need to decide soon. Either way they will get transplanted today to my bigger plastic pots. Anyways I had to do another big defoliation and I raised the net just a bit again. Stretch should slow down the next couple days and I'll likely do another big defoliation and raise the net to a good spot and leave it. I don't want this thing to get overcrowded so if it doesn't look like it will produce or is tiny it's gone. The heat has been in the 90s here and the tents are a few degrees hotter than I like. I haven't seen anything over 82 yet and it got to 100 the other day so that is probably my max temp for the summer. Lots of things happening during stretch that I really don't like to happen but it is what it is so lets hope these girls are tough.

420 sticker covered now. Net almost at the sticker.

Lastly a little outside garden update. I know they aren't a sponsor anymore either but still loving the PSCROG thing I won a while back. I have about 30 bush bean plants and they are all just starting to flower and fruit. Going to be a jungle with those soon.

Romaine and the rest of my lettuce need to be chopped. It's getting way too hot even though they spend a good chunk of time in shade or spotted sun. Broccoli is hating this weather so it's done and I probably started it too late in the season but I got some good heads off them. Didn't take a picture but the taste of fresh broccoli is unreal.

Lastly the PSCROG system. The tomatoes are really happy and there are flowers everywhere. Between the 4 plants I've spotted about 20 tomatoes but I think these are going to do really well this year. Plan is to top them and then have them slowly bend to the middle and the PSCROG will support the plant and leave the fruit hanging.

I posted a pic of mine still in pots now in dark period. Lots of bud for sure and a little larger then I expected.

Maters in containers killing it, love it.

Hey I told you they stretch! And be glad they dont have the f1 vigor or the stankberry. I've never seen a plant grow like these.

Going to be some killer colas there ase!

Yeah two of these are going to be monsters. I’m glad I have them all spread out because stretch would have been near impossible to control. I grew these in 5 gallon pots and I could have done 3 gallon. Didn’t expect 5 females either. Part of me wants to just get rid of the middle one and train some of the longer colas to there. I’d still be able to fill the tent and then I wouldn’t have to worry about the middle one being too short but I’m really not sure what I would even do with it. Maybe throw it outside? I’ll make that call today.
