Arteekay's 1st Grow - Sunshine #4 - Spider x 4 - Crop King Autoflowering Mix Strains

Re: Arteekay's 1st Grow - Sunshine #4 - Spider x 4 - Crop King Autoflowering Mix Stra

Jan 22 update, posted late (again).

We had our temporary "guy" (after we lost our main guy and decided to grow) over many times since we started, and tonight was his first taste of the basement's produce. Biz ran us through a taste test of Candy Cane, Northern Lights, and some bottom nugs we've stolen from Tall NL and Rev early in the week.

He said it's as good tasting, smelling and smoking/vaping as anything he's ever gotten, and was far more baked than he'd been in a long time. We purposefully downplayed it's quality and waited for comment... At one point we were trying to remember Revolver's heritage so I handed him the Crop King Seeds catalog. He stared at it for a good minute before admitting to no ability to read it at the moment. :)

It has been a fun ride, but this week has been the pinnacle for sure. We manicured Trudy up and hung her for one more day, but tomorrow Biz is taking all the trim we've collected so far and making up some oil for brownies, etc. Can't wait. Should be a drooling mess for most of the weekend.

  • Rev got one more straight watering at 156ppm and 5.6 PH, we'll let her go dry tomorrow and take her on Sunday. Plans change by the hour though..
  • Candi and Brit got full strength DNF Bloom A+B and half strength calmag+ at 900ppm and 5.8 PH

Man!!!! Everything turned out swimmingly for you guys :bravo: so you decided to dry above your light in the tent? Any pros/cons to that? That is most likely what I will do. Did you just hang your buds untrimmed then trim the sugar leaves after everything was dry?

Thanks LabMan, it really did work out great.

We let each plant go fully dry, a day or two past when we would have normally watered had they been continuing to live. We then pulled off all the big fan leaves that likely wouldn't have had much if anything of value in/on them, but saved them in a big bag in the freezer.

With droopy, we tried to manicure her the next day but she was still wet for our methods and experience level. She ended up with some flat spots just from being in the bowl long enough to weigh it.

So when we got to Trudy we hung her in two parts for 6 days before we tried to manicure her up. It was so easy, you could really just run the backside of the trimmers along the bud and the trim would break right off without cutting. We then left fairly long stems intact and hung her up for another couple of days. We'll jar her up tomorrow likely.

For the location we finally settled on to dry in, we followed the lead our our good friend ShiggityFlip, as I should have done in the first place to avoid re-doing it twice.

The pros:
  • Same humidity required as for veg.
  • Easily available and accessible space.
  • Air exchange without any direct wind on em.
  • Behind the carbon filter (might be the biggest pro for us)

The cons:
  • Some small loss of THC due to indirect light reaching them.

That was really the only con we could identify for our situation, and when we considered that we wouldn't even be able to quantify the degradation and we were getting blasted off our asses anyway, it just made sense.

Thanks go once again to shigs.

Re: Arteekay's 1st Grow - Sunshine #4 - Spider x 4 - Crop King Autoflowering Mix Stra

My man RTK someday the world will be cool and we will start a cannashare program where we can subscribe to other growers shares with credits from stuff we share. Stoner moment thinking of a way we could all share harvests. Of course I wouldn't try to do it now but maybe these things will be possible within a few years when things are decriminalized.
As such I will just virtually share with everyone here until that blessed day.

Haha I can see us now if it did..."RTK I got a share from you. I want that bud in that pic right there lol. Don't splash any nutes on it."

Man, it'd be an incredible world for sure. Incredible progress made far faster than I'd hoped or imagined. Sadly, as a cynic I don't dare to dream as optimistically as you can, even medicated. Maybe all we'd need is a secret handshake, but I fear eventually some ass will try and fuck it up for some reason, or none at all.

Mind you, my own stoner moment thought... once everyone can get great weed safely and cheaply, maybe some of our species more inhuman moments will disappear as a result.

I can hope, right? :)

Hey RTK
looks like your going to be filling up the ole medical cabinet ;)

Jarred up our first and smallest CKS Candy Cane and Northern Light autoflowers today and got final dry weights, details in tonight's update. Very excited that we made it through to harvest. Mission complete.

I know you enjoy learning more, so I thought I would pass this on to you.
The 2016 Cannabis Health Summit is going on right now,, to get there you can follow this link Green Flower Media

I wish I know how to record this, good stuff :thumb:

Excellent, registered and listening in the background. Thanks OG.

Re: Arteekay's First Grow - Sunshine #4 - Spider x4 - Crop King Autoflowering Mix Str

It was time to get Droopy and Trudy to lose their stems and get to curing.

Trudy (CKS Candy Cane) final dry weight 45 grams.

Droopy (CKS Northern Lights) final dry weight 23 grams.

So we got 2.4 ounces from our two smallest plants. Our original goal back in October was an ounce or two a plant but we didn't really know for sure if that was even possible. Likely not with our single 125w CFL light. :)

The girls get bigger from here on, so I think we have a real chance of meeting or beating our day one plan.

Edit: forgot to mention the weights don't include all the slippage we've been taking this week (likely 5 or 6 grams) and the ounce of dry manicure trim we made into oil and made a batch of brownies with for tomorrow morning. These were things we didn't even think about back in the beginning.

We've been smoking and vaping all Trudy (CC) for the last day and we're both very happy with the smell, taste and high.

Re: Arteekay's 1st Grow - Sunshine #4 - Spider x 4 - Crop King Autoflowering Mix Stra

Yum! Congrats guys, hope you've still got a whole heap more jars for when the others are good to go, real jealous of the massive selection you will soon have on hand :) I think you are well and truly going to eclipse your original goal

Yeah, we're gonna need smaller and many more Boveda packs. Can't see us buying more than a couple hygrometers and rotating them through the jars.

I'm starting to think we may beat our goal, can't imagine how we couldn't at this point. Can't even pretent not to be happy, and a little worried. It kinda just hit us how much of them is actually "weed". Never had more than a couple ounces at a time on hand ever.

Re: Arteekay's 1st Grow - Sunshine #4 - Spider x 4 - Crop King Autoflowering Mix Stra

Things are slowing down in this grow. Tall NL is drying for finishing, we still haven't cut her although we planned on trying a staged harvest on her. Rev is now drying for finish hopefully tomorrow and Candi has twice the pot size and can go for two days.

So we really only had to deal with Britney, but everyone got to come out and get checked over, of course.

  • Britney got full strength DNF Bloom A+B and half strength calmag+ at 912ppm and 5.7 PH.

Family pics:

Tall NL (79 days, 13.4 lbs down from 14.4 yesterday) Less time between checks combined with slowing down in water usage, needs to end soon.

Candi (79 days, 16.4 lbs, 20.4 yesterday):

Rev (69 days, 10.0 lbs down from 15.8 yesterday)

Britney (71 days, 10.4 lbs down from 15.8 yesterday):

Security asleep at his post, as usual:

I've got nugs for each and every one of my virtual neighbors.

Sadly they are virtual nugs, basically the Bud Light Lime of nugs.

Re: Arteekay's 1st Grow - Sunshine #4 - Spider x 4 - Crop King Autoflowering Mix Stra

Love this glad to keep watching... How tall were the first 2 plants you harvested?

Good question, it's like ya picked out the one thing I forgot to mention in their tribute posts as well. Droopy was 17 inches and Trudy was 20 inches.

Once we started LSTing and topping and whatnot, and it was clear that Rev was significantly bigger than Trudy yet was two inches shorter, i stopped being really interested in their heights and switched to weights as a measurement of their mass. Now my tape measure is just used to try to level the plants out a bit more and judge how close the lights are from them.

Glad to have you here Krypt!

That's awesome man, wish I could. Maybe one day once ShiggityFlip launches Cannashare. I think he's just waiting on his gofundme to kick off.

Just read your grow from start to finish...
I hope to have awesome results with my plants. Good job

You didn't really, did ya? That's a long read!

See how this community and it's awesome members saved it a few times and were always there to help and support? I really can't thank everyone enough.
