Arteekay's 1st Grow - Sunshine #4 - Spider x 4 - Crop King Autoflowering Mix Strains

Re: Arteekay's 1st Grow - Sunshine #4 - Spider x 4 - Crop King Autoflowering Mix Stra

I know I am, it was like friggin janga in there. Much tighter training in the works for our second grow.

I hear you loud and clear , I have about 40 2nd string clones flowering right now!! Nothing special , just what I didn't put into the bloom tent in favor of the stronger or better sisters . I figured I'd let them have a bit more time. I Couldn't bring myself to just kill them so I just had way to earn many. Gave some away , stuffed the rest into 2 tents and off they go. My big bud isn't ready yet so my thought was why not... I mean I can always make hash or wax ( lord knows I'm all stocked up on butter). I don't really care to much about this run. Let em stretch and do what they do. It's alot of work getting in to water and feed though. Can you imagine that many 5 inch pots lol...kick my own butt. I do it though and I love it. I'm dedicated to the girls , and I get some pretty frosty results, even from the stragglers

Garden looking beautiful as always.... Quick question how do you raise the ppm's? Mine are low with distilled water and feeding only few mL/gallon of water doesn't raise them much but that's what the thing says to feed..... I hope 1 day my garden looks half as good as yours! I'm feeding both my plants till run-off every few days as they aren't as old and drinking as fast as yours are....

I've gotta get back over to your journal and check out the pics again. Slippery mind and all. I know what you mean though, once there's life I gotta keep it. I'm terrified of growing regular non-feminized seeds or bag seeds as I'll see a male and be crushed.

Not as always, skip back a few dozen pages and you'll find some very unhappy girls. Shigs really does deserve a special award for his keen eye on our floor.

We're just using straight tap water, bubbled for at least a day with an aquarium airpump and stones, so we're starting at about 160ppm and 7.5 PH before we do anything. I don't think I've seen anyone else here using DNF (Dutch Nutrient Formula) nutes either, so that could very well contribute to the difference you are seeing as well. Our full strength is 5ml/L of A and B, and then 5ml/L of calmag+ as well. That gets us up into the 850ppm range. Really not doing anything to increase them other, just noting the numbers we are getting from our meter.

We do try to avoid using PH up if we at all can, specifically to not increase the ppm with useless "stuff".

We've actually been pretty surprised about how much more water we are going through in full flowering. Mind bogglin' to me.

This really isn't a good journal rtk, just kind of getting a feel for this place , normal conditions would dictate better results , like not flowering in 5 inch pots . normally I would up pot to.12 inch pots putting 1 super cropped plant per square ft . when you take 20 clones at a time and only use the best 9 you end up.with a lot of extra. So I packed them in and am not really training. I topped them 3 weeks ago and other than feed schedule there is nothing normal.about it. They strrrrrrretchhhhhhh and fight for light. It's big and ugly but I get to experiment with different bppm and temps , without the disappoint of screwing up a good run of properly groomed and placed that yeild. These.girls will all be more stem than anything. But they should still have a nice top or two that I can make b.h.o
Or hash from.

Lol , last week my experiment was using the general hydro nutes as recommend on the label... Ya, can you say BURNT? I mean wow, yellow crispy burnt. Not tips whole fans. I've never done it , I usually only go about 50% , good thing. Live and learn . no harm done on this run

Hey Poundcake, I was really confused when I first read this..I had the context all wrong.. my bad and you have my apologies. In case you didn't see my previous message I was just asking for clarification but I found it :) Cheers mate :thumb::volcano-smiley:

Re: Arteekay's 1st Grow - Sunshine #4 - Spider x 4 - Crop King Autoflowering Mix Stra

Hey Poundcake, I'm really confused here. I'm unsure about what you're trying to say. Could you please clarify what you mean by normal conditions dictating better results? In what way? That's a very general statement and would love to hear some insight to what you're trying to say.

Sorry rtk and jb , " under normal conditions " I do an s.o.g. I have a 2x3x5 and a 3x3x5 and a 3x3x18" tent. Normally I would be using the 3x3x18" as a clone/ veg tent since I grow shorties in the sog. The 2x3x5 I would normally keep mother's in and the 3x3x5 I would normally bloom in. During the sog I take 20 cuttings root them and start them in a 5"x5"x5" square pots to veg for a few weeks. Then I transplant into 12" 3 gallon square pots. Reason for this is 1 gallon per foot of height and 1 square foot of space per plant. So in my bloom tent I get 9 plants in the 3x3x5. Those 9 plants being the best of the 20 clones. Leaving me 11 left over.

Doing this 4 times a year leaves me with 44 extra clones that are good , maybe they took longer to root or needed to bulk up or gain height. I've managed to give some to friends here and there but now that I'm starting new seeds I'm clearing out the old stuff to make space.

I will not get fantastic plants out of this run. I have 20 in the 3x3x5 and 16 in the 2x3x5 tent . I did not transplant into the 12" pots either. So 36 over crowded plants in pots to small means more stem stretch .

I just couldn't bring myself to kill them off. The cantaloupe is loaded w trichromes and so is the pineapple chunks and bubble gum.

So in conclusion I'm very overcrowded and the pots are to small to expect great results

Hey Pound cake, I'm sorry for taking your comments out of context.. I should have followed the conversation closer.. And btw those buds look smokeable to me.. Nice and frosty ;)

Re: Arteekay's 1st Grow - Sunshine #4 - Spider x 4 - Crop King Autoflowering Mix Stra

Must be a pain to water or do any thing with that many plants in such a small tent.

Re: Arteekay's 1st Grow - Sunshine #4 - Spider x 4 - Crop King Autoflowering Mix Stra

The Crop King Seeds prize package arrived today, was great to come home to prizes for my mutterings.

These will be third grow girls. Can't wait.

Biz! We need more tents man!

Re: Arteekay's 1st Grow - Sunshine #4 - Spider x 4 - Crop King Autoflowering Mix Stra

So we discussed the complicated process we've been following of slowly lowering flowering nutes, trying to judge when they are two weeks before they are ready to flush for two weeks. We've been dropping by a quarter strength and having to predict and track that has become painful. We'll do 75-100% strength from now forward and do a heavier flush before switching to straight water for two weeks. Much easier to track. If they show signs of toxicity we'll cut down of course. Terrible idea?

We really need to find and order a 0-0-0 calmag, ours is 2-0-0 and that feels high to me.

  • Both Rev and Britney got 75% strength DNF Bloom A+B and half strength calmag+ at 720ppm and 5.8 PH

Family pics:

Tall NL (75 days, 11.2 lbs down from 13.2 yesterday) progressing towards being bone dry on the weekend for harvest and finally starting to fade a bit:

Rev (65 days, 9.1 lbs before watering, 14.4 after) She's my new favorite, just faaaat everywhere:

Britney (67 days, 10.4 lbs before watering, 15.2 after):

Her under-bits, lollipopping happened over a couple of days, pretty easy to see where she snapped off in 'her' accident:

Candi (75 days, 16.2 lbs down from likely around 20-21 yesterday):

Back in the tent:

Bonus, forgot I took this LED lit pic of the twin tops:
