Arteekay's 1st Grow - Sunshine #4 - Spider x 4 - Crop King Autoflowering Mix Strains

Re: Arteekay's 1st Grow - Sunshine #4 - Spider x 4 - Crop King Autoflowering Mix Stra

Minimum two weeks! :)

Time to invest in buying or making a cloner RTK. You know you will run across the holy grail strain and cry because you have lost the pheno forever. Then you can fill that basement with a monoclonal grow. Once my next round of hunger games is done I am going to do batches of plants that are the same. Which probably means 14-16 twisters and 2-4 variable plants for personal

Nice work. And now I've one more subscription to add to the never-ending list. :laughtwo: Oh yeah, Congrats on the contest win. :high-five:

Thank you so much Sweets, I'm very happy to have won second prize, beyond my wildly expectations. If I'm honest with myself, this is a pretty typical grow, fairly unexciting except for my occasional #stonedmoron move. You have your hands completely full with things that matter to the health and longevity of so many, I'd hate to have you waste a second of your precious time on my daily mutterings.

That said, you are always more than welcome to stop by anytime, for a break and a hug. I think we keep similar hours on the night shift. :)

 :circle-of-love:

The general organics calmag boss atrain turned me on to it check it out. Pretty inexpensive as well.

Thanks Slayer, I'll check it out. Want to solve that this week.

Get demeter's destiny for calmag. No nitrates to mess with flowering, its what I use. Looks like milk. ANd don't cut out the prospect of running a basement, you know its gonna happen...

I took a quick look while still at work, and I thought I saw it was calcium only, no magnesium? We're still running tap water, so I was assuming we had some spare calcium available there, assuming correct PH of course. The subject is clouded by the fact that 90% of the information I have read sticks them together like conjoined twins.

All that said, I look back a few days ago when I said I'd be drying in my veg tent on your recommendation, and for whatever reason I forgot that and went with the closet for the last five days.

Now I'm moving it into my veg tent, so I think I'm just about done doing anything other than what you recommend. :adore:

Can't imagine I can avoid it forever, that's for sure. Generally I don't expect to live out the week, so I don't plan a thing out too far in advance, much to my constant detriment. I won't even buy green bananas...

Think we'll start sizing our purchases to a little big for now, but can be used in a bigger space. That I can handle, since i can't take my bank account with me anyway. :)

I'll be collecting all the pics of it up in a special segment of her life tribute, when she gets the chop in about two or three weeks we're thinking right now.

I've been fascinated by it from the first time I noticed it, which because I stare at them so much was pretty early.

Re: Arteekay's 1st Grow - Sunshine #4 - Spider x 4 - Crop King Autoflowering Mix Stra

Quick update tonight, got distracted by a troll then had to do some actual work (that I get paid for).

All three got watered today. We weren't planning on doing anything with the Tall NL, but she's dry today and figured we either cut her or give her one more round. Since we didn't have time for a harvest tonight we'll give her one more and finish her off on the weekend.

  • Britney got full strength DNF Bloom A+B and half strength calmag+ at 860ppm and 5.8 PH
  • The other four got 75% strength DNF Bloom A+B and half strength calmag+ at 700ppm and 5.8 PH

Family Pics:

Candi (76 days, 10.6 lbs before watering, not weighed after):

Rev (66 days, 8.6 lbs before watering, not weighed after):

Tall NL (76 days, 9.2 lbs before watering, not weighed after):

Britney (68 days, 9.8 lbs before watering, not weighed after):

Brittany's kicking some serious butt on this grow. She's at 66 days now, how much longer do you figure on her? She's going to be massive when those colas get good and thick.

I'll check back tomorrow. I was on my way to bed and you caught my eye so I thought "Why not stop?" But I can't see anymore and I really have to get away from the lighted screen. :laughtwo:

I'm amazed!:thedoubletake: Those of some of the most beautiful girls! If I ever get in the position where I'm able to do indoor grows I'll definitely be following your lead. :high-five:

Re: Arteekay's 1st Grow - Sunshine #4 - Spider x 4 - Crop King Autoflowering Mix Stra

Thanks jb , but I'm really unimpressed. I wish my room was done. So I had more space. Slow process but its coming along. Here is the link to the grow room I'm copying.

The set up was amazing. Don't we all wish we had that kind of money available? Watching the trim process made me cringe. The trichomes on the sugar leaves are more potent than those on the buds. Doc Bud considers them the filet mignon of the plant and it's 90% of what he personally smokes and what he offers his potential clients as a testimony of the potency of his grows. As a group, on this site, we have much more respect for the trichomes and handle our own harvests with much more care than this video demonstrates.

Then they put those buds into plastic bags and I nearly screamed "NO!" That end section just painful to watch. Do they not know about a decent cure?

Wow! We really are pot snobs, aren't we? :laughtwo:

I think it's time for me to purchase a cloner. I'll have to pay closer attention. I'll be starting with just 2-3 photos this run, but they'll be ones I'll want to keep growing from this point on. Once the two grow spaces I'm dedicating to autos on the first run come down one of the spaces will be converted over to photos, so from that point on it's one space for autos (most likely the closet) and the tents for photos. Time for SweetSue to demonstrate her ability to join the big boys club. :laughtwo:

See Shiggity? I have been listening to you all along. :battingeyelashes:

Arteekay, I don't ever plan to be so busy that I can't stop in now and then. It might not be every day, but you've caught my attention, and I plan to stick as close as time allows.

I'm not sure if you're aware of my accident with her, I crushed her back at about three weeks old I think it was. We figured she'd stay small but she just took two weeks to repair and picked right back up like nothing. She'll end up our oldest from this first grow, we're thinking right now we'll run her for another four weeks. hehehe

I see her as an inspirational tale now, she's great to show to new growers devastated with their first #stonedmoron moment.

Thanks so much for asking this though, as soon as I read it I realized we never did calendar out when we planned to finish them, best/worst case and we sat down and figured it out. Meant we had to start flushing Rev tonight.

Looks like someone will be busy soon with harvest time :thumb:

All of your plants turned out fantastic :adore::adore::circle-of-love:

We started this past weekend and we're already busy, I'm a little terrified of the next three or four weeks.

They turned out better than we ever expected. I think back now to when I was deciding if I was going to post a grow journal and shudder at what would have happened had I not.

I'm amazed!:thedoubletake: Those of some of the most beautiful girls! If I ever get in the position where I'm able to do indoor grows I'll definitely be following your lead. :high-five:

I find them drop dead gorgeous, but I sometimes wonder if "hottest girl in the room" has any effect on me. I've never seen a grow in person, so they will forever hold a special place in my memories. That's assuming I have any memory at all for much longer, first joint of Droops blew my mind, best joint I've smoked in months!

The set up was amazing. Don't we all wish we had that kind of money available?

I've been reasonably well off and desperately poor, and the one common denominator is that I always wished I had more money. The more I had the more I need, without exception.

I am truly honored to have you here whenever you can find the time and desire. :)

We intended 2 photos in our second grow, just couldn't get our White Widows to germinate in time and I took on the DD in the meantime. Not sure I'm at all disappointed in that decision, I already love that little girl!

Re: Arteekay's 1st Grow - Sunshine #4 - Spider x 4 - Crop King Autoflowering Mix Stra

Jan 21 update, posted late.

  • Rev got 3 liters of straight bubbled tap water at 156ppm and 5.9 PH.
  • Britney got full strength DNF Bloom A+B and half strength calmag+ at 800ppm and 5.8 PH

Today we finally got around to moving the drying space out of the upstairs closet and into where it should have been in the first place, above the spider in the veg tent. It's warm enough that I don't think we'll need the oil filled radiator and the humidifier is keeping it almost exactly where I want in veg (60%) which I believe is just about perfect for drying as well. Please correct me if necessary.

We still need to manicure up Trudy's nearly dried sections and trim most of the stems off. Droops side branches are in jars for curing, but her main top needs a day or two longer.

All that's left of Droops not in cure on the left side, and Trudy's top on the right:

Trudy's bottom:

Random Trudy nug:

Sorry for the sideways pics, too lazy to fix tonight:

I've got some visitors coming this weekend that won't be privy to what's in the basement, and the smell was noticeable (at least to me) when I'd come home at the end of the day. Expecting that to disappear overnight.

In the process, we stole another nug from Droopy, ground her up and rolled her into a nice fat joint. Both of us agreed it was the best high we've had in a long time. Came on quick, before the joint was half done and only lasted about an hour, but the joy of smoking that is beyond my ability to describe in words.

After SweetSue reminded us to figure out what our finishing plans are, we decided to start flushing Rev for cutting next weekend. We also decided to do a staged harvest on our Tall NL, we'll cut the top tomorrow night and leave the rest for another week.

Family pics:

Tall NL (77 days, 16.4 lbs down from being watered yesteday, likely around 20):

Britney (69 days, 9.6 lbs down from being watered yesterday):

Rev (67 days, 8.4 lbs before watering, not weighed after):

Candi didn't get her picture taken for some reason, she was 15.6 lbs

The Dark Devil autos are an enticing strain, to be sure. I got hooked my first time running one and haven't looked back. That thread for the community grow gives me goosebumps when I stop in to check up.

When I plant my next Carnival I think I'll start another community grow. We've had massive interest in that strain as well and I find great satisfaction in the sharing that goes on in the community grow room atmosphere.

Edit: Damn! Rev is stunning!

The DD community grow and it's pictures sucked me right in and would not let go. I had to have one in my tent, it was an absolute imperative.

I'm now hooked on colors for the next grow or two. I'll have to research Carnival tomorrow, colorful? One more strain to add to the list regardless.

Edit: Damn! Rev is stunning!

I'm so in love with her it hurts a lil' bit. I can't wait to see her naked and hanging above the spider!

How do you come home from work and not stay up all night admiring these works of art?

... he says to me at 1:53am local time and I reply at 2:20am...

I can't, I'll be down to look at them one more time before I go to bed, and I'll check them out twice more before going to work. Once as soon as I get up, and once more before I walk out the door. It's an irresistible force.

The drying closet with the cool mist (fan over a moist wick) humidifier, secondary fan and oil filled radiator shared a wall with my bedroom. Jaybiz has 20 feet of open air before the wall to his room, but mine was buzzing for the last two nights.

SO, i figure I can stay up a little bit later since I'll likely get a marginally better sleep tonight.

I can't tell you enough how much I have learned following this journal, Thank you.

It makes me incredibly happy to hear that. I started it just because I couldn't fit all I wanted to write every day into my little paper journal, then I just couldn't stop trying to document more and more. If it's helped you as well that is just awesome.

I thank you for subscribing and reading so many of my lengthy text dumps.

HAHA, your 3 hours ahead of me so it wasn't late here when I commented. I'm not liking this 12/12 flowering times, I have to go 12 hours without checking on them.

Re: Arteekay's 1st Grow - Sunshine #4 - Spider x 4 - Crop King Autoflowering Mix Stra

Wow your girls look great you got some awesome autos there they look fat.

Thanks Nuggs.

We've been terrible with tracking weights against our constant inventory slippage, so the first two at least won't have anything approaching an accurate dry weight, but I hope to get that locked down before the next set. Just wasn't that important to us as it was more than we'd ever had in the house at once regardless of it's total yield.

They give me "wow" moments every day, we never dreamed we'd be even an eighth this successful, or we wouldn't have done 6 on our maiden grow.

Jaybiz will be fine I'd guess, but it's going to bother me endlessly. Only another 3 or 4 weeks tops I'm betting before he'll want to flip and for the first time since we started this adventure, on Halloween night, I won't be able to them whenever I want.

I think it's half the reason I'm liking autos so much...

That Trudy is a real stunner guys. And revolver is kicking hard. I love that we are sharing virtual harvest times. I need to make a follow up post. X4,AO5,HK11,HK8 kicking serious butt so far. Looking forward to smoke reports!

Like I said earlier, every next stage is a brand new learning experience for us. Trudy's been drying since Sunday and we figured it was time to manicure her up. Only took us about 45 minutes (newbs) and next time will be much better now that we have a system of some kind.

Of course, doing it after a multi-vape session didn't help our production speed any either. We were laughing that it's gonna take us hours to get through Rev, and half a day for Candi and Britney. We talked a couple times about how much time and energy you must put into your garden. It's just mind-boggling to us.

That said, our efficiencies need a lot of improvement for our second and third girls.

As for smoke reports, I was laughing my ass off about that earlier. Told biz my smoke reports would all read "tasted great, got me totally stoned and made me go "AHHHHH!!!" up in my brain area". I really just don't know that I have the capacity to notice the subtleties and nuances to do any of them justice.

you guys are gonna have a serious stash soon, nugs are looking delicious :bravo:

Great that droopy came through with the goods and the others you haven't chopped are looking super heavy.

Cost us nothing to keep her in the light, I was wrong to be so hard on her. Thanks to all her supporters for reminding me of that.
