I do have to say I really like the Flow n Grow so far (I'm only 2 1/2 - 3 weeks from seed) and can't wait to get a full run though it. I will definitely be hangin around here! I'm going to try and be more active in the community who knows I might even start a Journal one of these days:thankyou:

Yeah I have had root rot kill two of my Urban Poison plants already. I was not a happy camper. The sacrifice those plants made me better able to battle root rot. That and the info I have gained here on the board.

Just a heads up. If your going to use hydroton in your system (I highly sugest using it) clean the living shit out of it........and then do it again lol
I have hydroton dust all through my system because I didn't clean it well enough.

In the past couple of days I myself have become more active in the community. I really enjoy this place and the people that come here. Most everyone is very helpful.
 
i read up there that the plant suffering from root rot is already showing new white roots well thats a great sign once i saw white roots come in on my plant with root rot, it never had a problem again and the RR never came back. great news. your updates look good sometimes you post pics up and label the strain and i forget you were ven growing it. hard to keep up with all the strains you have lol.

updates are looking good everytime. if i had a +rep for ya i'd send it but i cant just yet. glad the clones are holding up for ya. once they root i'll be at ease

You and me both my brother! Time will tell on the clones though but they do look very happy at the moment. The air pump I got from you works PERFECT for the ez cloner. Thanks again my friend.

That hydrozyme kicks some serious ass on root rot. I put that stuff in my buckets and foam and sizzling noise started. I was like "holy shit" lol

ok, So I have built my first DIY Light baffle !!!!!!! Pictures to follow

My dad owns a construction company so I have all kinds of lumber at my disposal

Nice to have a flat screen TVin the garage while I do my work!!

Next I cut holes in the top and bottom of the board. After I did it I figured out I had cut some of the holes on the wrong board. DAMMIT! It will still work though.

Next I found some VERY thick cardboard and glued it into the slots. Opposite sides of each other.

I cut two boards the size I needed for the sides and nailed it to one side and then the other.

I then installed a coupler to the large hole to attach the vent hose to and used some liquid insulation around the coupler so it would be air tight. Finally installed the last side and then the top and bottom. Here you see the finsihed product!

Well, tried to rep you but I STILL gotta spread it! Nice job on the baffle, and thanks for posting how you did it!

Do me a favor if you would please....I am trying to explain to my wife exactly how this will function in your grow....Will you post a few more pics of the unit installed?

Certainly, After I get it installed I'll put up some pictures. Pretty simple though. While in bloom you CANNOT have any light in the tent AT ALL. The fan still runs while the lights are off and you need to draw in air somehow. Light cannot bend or go around corners without help (reflective surface)
As you can see in picture 4 I have staggered the cardboard plates so light will get past those plates but air can. Thisway I can get the needed air without the unwanted light.
Hope that helps. My wife is still scratching her head lol

ahh man me and my girlfriend and kid were watching harry potter at the same point in time you took that pic. haha been a harry potter marathon on the family channel and nothin else on haha anywho enough talk of wizards.

that box you got there is looking well thought out. i wish i fully understood it all but i will once i see it in action. i'm assuming the plants go in the little holes on the top lol.

nice little project you completed. i want to do some sort of building soon to upgrade my setup

No son, it's a light baffle. My tents are pretty air tight. When the fan is on sucking the hot air OUT of the tent you can actually see the tent cave in a little bit. I have a 6 inch hose that will connect to that baffle. That box will be outside the tent. The hose that connect to that baffle will go inside the tent and negative pressure will draw air in through that baffle but no light will be able to get through.......understand my friend? I don't know how to explain it any better.

Well when you have been poor most of your life you either learn to build and fix your own shit or go without because ya sure damn well can't afford to buy something or pay someone to fix/build it.
But thank you. I do have a knack for doing things like this. You ought to see me rebuild an engine. Now THAT I am really good at :thumb:

To late lol.... I washed mine pretty good just pulled a pot and this is what was waiting for me

A dust ring around the top and bigger peaces on the bottem now I really wish I would have washed them a 2nd time!

A1 great job on the light trap!:goodjob: one thought is that you could paint the inside black, that way less light is reflected around the corners, probable not a big deal just a though. Any ways great job keep up the great work!
