Re: Aberration Goes ker Bloom! - 2009

Ab, what's the difference between testing the soil ur way and relying on runoff to give PH readings (of soil)? Depending upon the volume of the pot is a 3" deep sample gonna give an accurate soil PH? Just curious. Ur method is completely new to me, I don't doubt it. Ur abilities speak for themselves. Forgot to mention sorry bout ur plant that died the other day too. As for the UV, Munki is the only one I saw incorporate it into a grow (in his ScrOG). If u haven't already u guys may wanna compare notes/ideas. Good work bro. And I'm interested in seeing how u incorporate the UV lighting into the grow room.

When you test the soil this way it is actually somewhat similar. But in this case, you are measuring it a little bit more directly I think. Also, since the conditions are more controlled, I'm hoping it is a bit more accurate, but I don't know that for sure.

As for drawbacks, it can't be done quickly with this method, it requires more equipment, and I certainly wouldn't want to disturb the soil this much too many times, so I think it is better suited to my need for only a very occasional test.

As for incorporating UV, I'm interested to see what I do too. ;)

Re: Aberration Goes ker Bloom! - 2009

As I previously mentioned, I have decided to extend BD's life to 70-ish days. So she got fed today, and will get another feed in two more days. After that, she starts into flush.

I also added 1 T unsulfured molasses (Grandma's) to the preflush for the bloomers, including BD. I'm going to continue this for a while and see what happens. I also intend to move to blackstrap, but for now this will do I think.

Speaking of bloom, 3 new girls went in tonight, so I have a full compliment again. The new girls got their veg feed at larger volume after their transplant to new pots. Next feed they start the bloom regimen. The three lucky girls are G13xGB.1A, PS.1E, and KK2.1B. They are at 28", 23", an 26" respectively and very healthy. They look perfectly bug-free to my eye. I want to stop growing trees, so they go in at about 2' tall for now, to be fine-tuned later.

I have also designated 4 large veg plants in 1 gal bags that will be donated to someone else. I will not need them and they will be too big soon. These are G13xGB.1G, PS.1D, BD.1C, and KK2.1A. That will leave me 11 plants in 1 gallon bags. They grow so fast.

Code:
--> Veg 1:

1 gallon bags (15):
   G13xGB.1D, G13xGB.1G,
   PS.1A, PS.1D,
   BD.1C, KK2.1A,
   MT1, MT2, MT3,
   BD.1F, BD.1J,
   CryLo.1A,
   G13xGB.1H,
   KK2.1C, KK2.1D

Transplanted to 5 gal. pots with myco (3):
   G13xGB.1A,
   PS.1E,
   KK2.1B

1. Fed to saturation (10.5 gal: 1/2 gal for each
                      except the transplants,
                      which get 1 gal each)
   Per gal:
2 t Pure Blend Pro Grow
	 1 t Cal-Mag
        1/2 oz Yucca
Adjusted to 900 ppm (from ~700 ppm)
   pH adjusted to 6.21 @ 20.6 C
	1/2 t Companion
	 1 t Bt-i

--> Veg 2:

3.5" pots (30):
   KK2.1E,

   pH adjusted to 6.20 @ 21.1 C
	1/2 t Companion

Also, today was a Bt-i day. Remembering to do it on whatever weekend day I feed each week works quite well. I haven't been forgetting.

Re: Aberration Goes ker Bloom! - 2009

Pictures!

Here's a shot of PS.1E. So healthy, and has a fat stalk by comparison:

20100306Aber-01-ps1e.jpg

Here are the roots from PS.1E:

20100306Aber-02-ps1e.jpg

And KK2.1B:

20100306Aber-03-kk21b.jpg

And G13xGB.1A:

20100306Aber-04-g13xgb1a.jpg

So here's veg now. The nearest of the three trays on the left and the third column from the left of the bags (the tall ones) are what I'm looking to lose. I hate to destroy them. Must find (legal) homes:

20100306Aber-05-veg.jpg

Here are all three of the new bloomers in the room in their new pots:

I expect them to harden up and get growing pretty soon.

Re: Aberration Goes ker Bloom! - 2009

Those new flower plants are considerably smaller than anything you have ever flowered, that's for sure.

Can we get some flower pics of the g13xgb, PS, and the KK?

How has the TBD1 been treating you?

Yeah, they are a reaction to the monsters in there now. G13xGB and KK2 are both over 5' tall. Add in the height of the pot and the casters and they are way over my head. Indoor trees, they are. I'll try to get some pictures. They are starting to bud up nicely, though KK2 is stubbornly yellow-ish in color.

TBD1 appears to be the White Rhino after all. Or at least what is being traded as clones of White Rhino anyway. Who knows? In any case, it has no flavor and no smell. The high is fine (good indica stone), but since it is only a poor imitation of the stone from the Matanuskan it isn't enough to make me want to keep it.

Too bad, because she gave me nearly 10 oz of weed from one 4' plant and was a breeze to grow.

Re: Aberration Goes ker Bloom! - 2009

Here's some budding pics. They could be better.

Here's a nice BD bud:

Closer:

20100309Aber-02-bd.jpg

Here's the state of KK2. She is growing buds quite well despite the yellowing of leaves that are 3-6 'generations' old if you know what I mean:

20100309Aber-03-kk2.jpg

I know. I have to figure out why KK2 is being this way. Maybe it's time to do a full on flush:

20100309Aber-04-kk2.jpg

G13xGB, on the other hand, is doing fine. She's green and healthy and popping buds everywhere:

Shaping up nicely:

Re: Aberration Goes ker Bloom! - 2009

:goodjob:hey mr. sophisticated i like the detail been lurkin around for awhile and was wondering if you can still get the afgooey from your mentor cuz thats the only shit i ever gave a 10/10 besides matanuskan tundra aka alaskan thunder fuck and its real hard to find really you dont find it it finds you

I'll ask him. I wouldn't mind trying it.

Nice pics my friend! I love the bamboo stakes... I had bought some for support as well.

They work great. I much prefer the cross-bars, because you can hang a branch from them better than the vertical bits.

Nice to see you guys again. :welcome:

:peace:

Re: Aberration Goes ker Bloom! - 2009

I have tons of femmed Afgooey seeds, maybe I will grow one sometime.

They are either Afgooey x Afgooey or Afgooey x Vortex, both are probably win/win.

I guess I will stick to my purchased seeds first though so I have a couple years before that grow, :ganjamon:.

That BD is very tasty looking...bet that will be some fine smoke.

:peace: brother.

Re: Aberration Goes ker Bloom! - 2009

That BD is very tasty looking...bet that will be some fine smoke.

:peace: brother.

I expect it will be. My mentor raves about it, but he never has more than a couple bowls of it for me. I need to go home and smoke a whole doobie before I can comment on the high. A couple bowls might tell me about how stony it is, but the 'flavor' of the high in my head needs to be taken at the levels I usually use. I never get stoned at his house unless I bring my own and that's rare because sooner or later I have to drive home. Since I don't drive stoned, I can't afford to get very high

Soon, I will know for myself. I'll share of course. :yahoo:

heres my afgooey it was grown really cold so i doubt yours will turn purple like mine its afgani#1 x mauii haze [snip] and do you know ne thing bout if its legal in oregon for one caregiver to give another caregiver seeds oh and heres another at 5 weeks

Nice looking plants! I do believe that two legitimate Oregon cardholders could in fact legally exchange seeds. I have read the law repeatedly, and it is actually pretty plain and clear. At least as far as Oregon is concerned.

---

Changes tonight.

The plants in 3.5" pots range from 2 to 12 inches tall. The bags range from 13 to 29 inches. They are really growing now. Gotta dump most of them really soon now.

I gave KK2 eight gallons of pHed water. It went in at exactly pH 6.20 and came out at 6.53. If I understand this method of determining soil pH, I should double the difference to 6.86!? That would be terrible. Look where that puts me on the pH availability chart:

pH_chart3.jpg

Yoinks!

Even if I am wrong, I know it's way too high, whatever the method. It's sure as hell not lower than what it came out as, and even 6.53 is high enough to worry me.

So hopefully, 8 gallons of the correct pH is helping. I followed that with 1-1/2 gallons of regular feed at 6.20. I think I may do the superflush again next time though.

BD started flush with Clearex tonight, so she is on a planned 10 day countdown, so maybe the 20th. We shall see. It is convenient that it is a Saturday. I may change that to Friday or maybe Sunday depending on field conditions.
