Aberration Goes Ker Bloom! - Perpetual

Re: Aberration Goes ker Bloom! - 2009

Damn. I have responded 3 times here, and all three times it apparently failed.

I looked all over very carefully. I even pulled some leaves and looked with the scope. I see nothing but dead pests. I checked and Azatrol kills thrips too. Google azadirachtin (the active ingredient). It's brutal if you are a pest. So hopefully I'm just seeing remains.

:peace:

More then likely it is just the remains. I get that sometimes. I have to constantly watch for thripes. As i do work in the outside garden. i do change clothes and use gloves and boots, but they still sneak in somehow. Their gone right now, but come summer, oh they'll be back this I know. But I just get rid of em and every year they come back. No big worry to me, But thats cause I know i can eradicate them within a week. my hydro guy sells this homemade stuff that he gives me and kills eggs and pretty much anything around the garden. And the long legged spiders help out alot to.(i keep a couple in the high corners of the room.) They feed on just about al the pest. I..oh sh*t just caught myself rambling on typing..LOL:rofl: sorry ..Medicated a lil to much..LOL:rofl:

I can't get the pic to post as a pic. Thrips eat the youngest grow.

Thanks for the heads-up, but it looks like that one (BD.1F) is doing fine. here's a picture I just took of her:

20100120Aber-bd_1f.jpg

In fact, she's one of the healthiest of the BD cuttings. I looked very carefully and could find no signs of insect or pests of any kind. She's opening up like a flower.

I do appreciate the word though. And welcome. Please comment more.

I cut down most of MTO2 (Matanuskan Thunderfuck) tonight and delivered it to the trimmers. She had a ton of shaded bud. I'm not trimming that stuff - I'm just popping the llittle buds off whole and putting them in the freezer. I know someone who would probably be happy to make some very nice hash out of it and split the result with me. I don't mind because I would throw it away otherwise, and I'm not the least bit set up to make hash atm.

On Friday, both MTO3 and OC6 will come down. They are both Orange Cream. They are the last I'll be having to do with that strain. It grows big plants with big colas and bud everywhere, but it gets all airy by the time it is dried and the juju doesn't do much for my noggin. Last time I got 45 oz dried from two of these. If I was growing commercial I might keep it, but I grow headstash and it doesn't measure up for me.

I know some people that think it's worth smoking though and they are med card holders, so I'll probably donate the bulk of the OC as soon as it's cured.

Busy, busy. But I managed to leave a huge hole in my rotation. I only have 2 new plants ready to replace the 3 coming out this week. The next biggest plant I have is 3" tall. I may try to trade some clones for something to put in.

I still gave water to MTO2 because we still haven't removed all the popcorn bud, and it's easier to do when still hydrated IMO. MTO3 & OC6 are coming down tomorrow, so they will be fine with just water too.

I put the last 14 clonelings into 3.5" pots. 8 G13xGB, 2 CryLo, 2 SchB, 1 BD and 1 PS. That's the last out of the cloner tray. So out of 50 cuttings, I only lost 13. That's less than 30% loss. I can live with that. One of the SchB still didn't have roots coming out anywhere, but she's still alive, so I put her in a pot too. She will make it or she won't. 🤷

I promise to take pics of the two Orange Creams before I chop them down tomorrow night. Scout's honor.

heheh - there's a time for pics - then there are the times you just wanna get into the Zen of the plants!

Big huge congrats on such a healthy crop and best wishes to the young 'uns.

Re: Aberration Goes ker Bloom! - 2009

OK, I did take pictures - here they are. First, the OCs.

A couple OC bud shots:

OC6:

MTO3 (which turned out to be unmistakably OC):

A couple more OC bud shots:

20100122Aber-04-oc.jpg

20100122Aber-05-oc.jpg

And finally, a pic that provides a sense of scale. I'm about 5'8":

20100122Aber-07-oc.jpg

Here is a look at what TBD1 is doing:

20100122Aber-08-TBD1.jpg

Here are couple of Blue Dream pics. She is curling under. I'm kinda used to seeing the leaf tips curl, but the edges are new. My mentor says BD likes it strong, but that looks like over-nute to me. Or is it too strong a light? :

20100122Aber-09-bd.jpg

20100122Aber-10-bd.jpg

And here is the PS, who is not stretching as much as the BD and has nice beefy stems. This Purple Sage is a breeze to grow so far:

20100122Aber-11-ps.jpg

I'll be back later with the feed report.

Re: Aberration Goes ker Bloom! - 2009

wow bro!!!!! that all I can pretty much say about your garden. GREAT WORK MY FRIEND.

...Oh and the picts of the leaf curling looks like a lil nute burn. Cause traditionally light intensity causes leaf cupping. But you'll know forsure if you get that yellow burn at the edges. Then thats overnute'n it for sure. This is just my opinion though.

I have divided the veg plants by size and vigor, regardless of age. More on those plants later.

MTO2, MTO3 and OC6 are still sucking up water. I need to get all that popcorn crap stripped off ASAP and get those out of there.

I am toying with the idea of trying to cut back and re-veg the Matty. But I know next to nothing about re-vegging.

That means KK2 and G13xGB are still in veg. They are ready now but there's no space.

Back to clones...

CryLo.1B is officially deceased. She was one of only 2 clones I got from that plant. 1A is still healthy and appears to have new growth. Taps...

20100123Aber-00-crylo1b.jpg

Everyone else is alive, as you can see:

20100123Aber-02-clones.jpg

I bought these tray inserts:

20100123Aber-01-tray.jpg

I wanted to put the plants on one, and then set it inside a standard tray. Then I could flood the tray and let them soak it up. After a while, I just lift out the inner tray and dump the outer. I work on a DTW table at the moment, so that's easy to do.

I set the plants up by growth and vigor. Each tray has 12 3.5" pots along the outside rows, and 5 garlic chives in the middle row. This leaves a space at one end to pour the nutrient mix into.

20100123Aber-03-clones.jpg

Here are the clones. I flipped each tray to get them from both sides, so you can see them all with ID. I'll work on making sure the labels are all the way up on the pots going forward:

20100123Aber-04-clones.jpg

20100123Aber-05-clones.jpg

20100123Aber-06-clones.jpg

20100123Aber-07-clones.jpg

20100123Aber-08-clones.jpg

20100123Aber-09-clones.jpg

The thing is, the inserts don't fit right inside any of my trays. I asked about it and the guys at the grow shop said they ordered the trays and inserts from different companies, They hadn't noticed apparently.

So I improvised. I use two inserts per tray. I put down one insert:

20100123Aber-10-makedo.jpg

I laid a 13 gal kitchen garbage bag over that, centered:

20100123Aber-11-makedo.jpg

Then I put the second insert in filled with plants, making sure the edge of the bag stayed out all the way around:

20100123Aber-12-makedo.jpg

That gave me a 'pool' to fill:

20100123Aber-13-makedo.jpg

When the clones had soaked long enough, I lift out the inside tray, emptied the outside tray and bag 'liner', hung the bag to dry and put the inserts back together (for strength).

It will work just fine until I can get properly paired inserts and trays.

Re: Aberration Goes ker Bloom! - 2009

Hmmmmm That BD issue is odd... but if I recall correctly, don't most sativas like low nutes??

Anyway, the OC looks like the usual stuff (haha)... but MAN that TBD1 looks AWESOME. I bet your super excited to have that in your stash soon.

I'm VERY happy that at least one crylo made it... Are you gonna turn her into a huge bush and flower her??

How long will it take BD to flower? Is it one of those 12 week sativas or what? I saw that you took it back a little bit, which is definitely the right move right now.

As always, I will continue to watch every day.

Any chance at you shooting a video of your setup one of these days, good sir?

I believe you are correct. But the guy I got this from says he hits her hard all the time. 🤷 In any case, that leaf was an older one, and newer stuff doesn't have the edge curl.

It looks great, but we fear it is not as good as it looks. Time will tell...

I don't know what she is going to look like when she grows normally. That plant was an aberration. I'm sure I'll flower her though, whatever she looks like.

Honestly, I have no idea how long she goes. I should ask, I guess. ;)

The odds of that are very good. I have been planning to do so for a while.

The younger clones got boosted 50 ppm, I dialed back the volume on TBD1 to 1 gallon. She was peeing the remainder out anyway. I'm sure even this will saturate her anyway.

The newest clones look good:

I stripped this from MTO2. There is still more. I placed this gently into a new brown paper lunch bag, rolled and stapled the top, named and dated it, and stuck it in the freezer. This will keep it perfectly until we are ready to hash it. There will be more:
