Could it be just correcting the PH, that may get them on the right track. I am curious as to if they are hungry? 300-400 seems low at their stage of growth.... You are doing a kick ass job, this journal will help me later on when I give aero a try...:peace:

Thanks guys for the quick help.

The reason that I have been vegging them so low is because a friend who is very experienced on another site used the EXACT same nute combo and he got burns above 600PPM. On the back of their bottles it even states that 800PPM and above is "aggressive". I really don't think they are malnourished but I could be wrong. What I think happened is that my ph was so low due to my ph meter error(calibrate your meter every 2 weeks!) that it was locking out some nutrients. I changed the res today, corrected my ph, and I'm going to run the PPM at 400 to start and see how they respond.

I'm running a Reverse Osmosis water system so every bit of the registered PPM is nutes since my water starts at 0 PPM. I'm a bit baffled by this but need to get it corrected asap. I have a lot riding on this grow.


I'm using Advanced Nutrients Sensi grow A&B.

I am going to be watching this pretty intently.. I want to learn as much as I can and start acquiring my equipment before I jump in.. I am going to split my garden in half soil/aero.. This is all new to me, besides what I have read..I think you are doing a great job...

I looked at the pic guide that soniq sent and I'm still a little puzzled. The only two conditions that I would say my plants resemle are: nute burn and a mag def.....and I don't think it was nute burn but who knows.

420fied, I've just now read your journal, and love it. Similar important details to another, possibly the same grower's influence. I particularly like zero dirt to carry aspect. 2" net cup, slit foam holder, in a hole in a big tube period. KISSably beautiful. Hugely important chiller. Modest ppm levels. Plenty light. Right now you are holding your breath watching for new healthy growth. Immediate is hydro time, you'll see it. Just as fast as the problem popped up, it will abate. You should get government grant money for this public benefit tutorial. I can offer only words of praise and a modest + on the rep button.

Fied, your fly root porn was scrumptious. I can hardly wait for the expected scroggy overload of buds. Like the kid on a car trip, "Are we there yet?". Bunch of work to count to 660. Commercial hydro strawberry greenhouse operators mount their plants overhead, produce hangs at eye level. You will get down on your knees, ever vigilant to avoid getting gouged by those wire ends sticking out to getcha, and reach in. Keep your eye on the prize, and train them bitches.

this system looks so great! How much total floor space does it take up? is a chiller needed for all Aeroponic systems?

Thanks. The unit is 42 inches by 55 inches. However, with the chiller, the scrog net, etc.... it ends up consuming a space that's about 5'wide and 6'long.

The chiller isnt necessary if you can keep your room and res temps at 66 or lower. The chiller is the best way to safeguard against disease and most problems with hydro grows are due to hot temps in the res'. I wouldnt even attempt this without the chiller.

I am looking into starting my own indoor still in the planning stages and I do have some time to figure it out but you journal has helped out so much and I am sure will keep doing so. Great Job on the grow and the journal..

Hey 420fied, check out Earl- middle of page 4 current grow journals list. Maybe you have already. Spookie similarity if you haven't, but you did say your garden was a derived idea, as is nearly all engineering. Humans are pretty good at using some observed process for their own need. Opposing thumbs, communication skills, and desire all work to that end. I'm loving your application.

So fied, you had a problem yesterday and I hope the meter recalibration and res change fixed it, but I don't want to hear any bad news- just kidding, the truth will set you free yadayadayada.
