1st Grow, RainForest 318, 400W HID, Chronic Haze, Yumbolt47, California Dream

hey how tall are they?

The Super Lemon Haze is 54", the Blueberry would be 2" shorter if I hadn't snipped 6" off the top bud, and the Kandy Kush finally broke 20" and at about 21" is as tall as it's going to get.

They seem to be happy with the A/C going now, and I'm back to peeking at trichs as my main task. Res change coming up Tuesday or Wednesday, which will hopefully be the last before flushing. I'm hoping they ripen close to the same time, because when one gets enough amber trichs, the other two are going to be losing their nute rations along with it... First one to ripen determines flush. If it turns out to be the Blueberry, though, I might let it go a few extra days to get the Super Lemon Haze some more nute time. Going to be a situational call when it happens.

At lights on this evening I found a pollen pod on the Blueberry, and accordingly cut the fucker off at the hydroton... It's now lying on my growroom floor over by the Shop Vac, and as far as I'm concerned, it can rot there. So now I'm running the 2 survivors only.

Might have a ceremonial bonfire this weekend... :>)

So there's a couple of ounces down the drain thanks to my not managing the heat... :>(

I was wondering if you ever ran into your pots lifting up? Since I put the new airpump in the 6in pots are lifting up. Seems like the roots are growing non stop and pushing the pots right out of the system. I had to use 2 vice grips to hold them back down, tried to twist them but no movement whats so ever. I have way more root growth then the last go around, sure hope there is enough room. lol

looking like some mighty fine meds man I can,t say enough abought the rainforest system so sweet & easy killer plants good results every time I,ve grown with it the root systems are like sphagetti or linguinie so long thick and snow white are you using h20-20 in your system

I haven't had that problem, but like you said, roots go nuts in the RF. The roots on the BB I chopped down were fairly well attached to the side of the res somehow. Still some there that'll have to be scraped off after harvest.

Hey Harryo, I used h2o2 some last grow, but this time I haven't used it yet. At this point I'm considering it a treatment for something that's not gone wrong yet, so I'm holding it in reserve. I am thinking about using it during flushing, though. Considering mixing it in with the Flora Kleen and seeing if anything dies... :>)

hey bolivar I have never had that problem and I was growing 16 plants they did grow into each other I could not believe how long &heavy they were telling you ma use the h20-20 the roots will probably get even bigger it will also keep the roots pliable & movable where they wont stick to the side also prevents root rot peace bro good growing

You are right, middle of July, and the middle of winter here. something to look forward to hey? :yahoo:
happy harvest

I should note that I never expected May to be this hot, or I wouldn't have goofed off for a month before getting the grow started. I know you can relate to the heat issues after the summer you had. It's been getting up to the mid and high 90s (F) or around 35 degrees C. I have no doubt that's what caused the Blueberry to stress out and go hermie. I really really wish I'd put the A/C in a month earlier, too. But all's good in the end here, I think. Should get a couple ounces of SBH and a bit less than that from the Kandy Kush. Then it's on to the Ebb n Gro, I think...

I'm going to put a little in when I change res tonight, HarryO. You talked me into it.

Hi Bolivar,
Heat can do a lot of damage; I lost 5 Himalayan Gold to root rot through heat; just one thing my friend, the blueberry even though she has been pulled up can still seed you crop as the pollen does not die for some time. Take her right away from the other plants.
I know how you feel my friend losing her(especially Blueberry too), but you have some beautiful plants there, and we both are hanging ut for harvest.
enjoy it when it comes, and I will too.
happy harvest, my friend.

one thing I know for sure in my 318 use Ive always used hydrogen peroxide 35% food grade increases yield speeds up development you will not believe the root developement it also prevents root rot along with a whole host of other problems Ive got 9 clones in rockwool cubes just sitting in a soup of distilled water a little ph down some nutes and hydrogen peroxide 35% food grade untill I get good root developement anyone using water as their grow medium should try hydrogen peroxide I put 6-7 tablespoons in the 318 res as it holds 17 gallons no more root rot bro reps peace

I find the food grade hydrogen peroxide at the local health food stores my local grow shop can only get 29% and thats tech grade which is half the price I have heard that there is a movement by the govmnt to restrict its availability someone might use it to make a bomb fuck you can get fertilizer for that hope this helps bro reps peace

Well the H2O2 certainly doesn't appear to have hurt anything, so I'll use it again.

The 2 survivors are still without many amber trichs, so I'm really not doing much but topping off the res and keeping an eye on the numbers. I've got the mix at 75% (Flora Nova, Floralicious Plus, Flora Blend, and KoolBloom) and it's hovered around 1240-1450 since res change, and that stuff REALLY stabilizes pH. I can dump in a gallon or so of untreated tap water at whatever high-ass pH that is (if I remember correctly it's high 7s) and the pH doesn't move but a couple of hundredths of a point.

I'm also dosing the CO2 higher, but can't tell whether that's making any difference. I've run out of velcro tape because the branches keep bending over under the weight of the buds, which aren't really all that huge - they're just heavy. Both plants are that way.

My philosophy at this point is to learn something about harvest timing. Whether waiting is beneficial and economic in this case is irrelevant to me. I've got enough left from last grow to last through another grow, so I'm going to ride this until I see amber. I can fairly well tell the product is going to be good, even if it won't be particularly plentiful, so I'm not feeling any loss at all.

I'll put up a pic or two tonight or in the morning and you can see that they look not a heck of a lot different.

Im sure the wait will turn out to be beneficial to the quality and maybe quantity like you say you have enough to last but your gaining experience as you go reps peace
