1st Grow, RainForest 318, 400W HID, Chronic Haze, Yumbolt47, California Dream

Yo Boli what kind of air pump are you using in your RF? I was ready lucus's therory and he claims 1 watt of pump for every gallon. I am using a tetra air pump and don't think it is enough, might go with the comercial 1 air pump that give 45 lpm. Just curious what your using.

Sorry about the long delay. I was posting a reply to someone else 2 weeks ago when my vid card went out. Got a new card, but also got involved in something else and never got back here.

I've only gone from seed so far. I was thinking that after I get a larger system (Ebb n Gro or Water Farm probably), I'd use the RF to get seedlings going while the other system finished out, then I'd transplant seedlings after harvest instead of starting seeds from scratch in the bigger system. I'll get it all fingered out this summer as I set up the new system. Gonna build a tent around the system this time.

What lid kit did you order?

I'll have to check tonight to see what pump I have. I'm pretty sure I remember getting the cheapest one on the shelf, though...

Next res change I'm going to pay some attention to my airstone setup because I don't like the way it's working now. Probably too small a pump, as you say.
 
I ordered the 318 lid kit. Yea I think a bigger pump will work out better. I have a tetra 100 gallon which I thought was enough but then I looked into it and it is a really weak pump. Not sure what the whole 1watt/gallon means but the pump I am using is 3.4 watt 8 lpm when the reccomended at 1 watt/gallon would be the comercial air pump at 18 watts and 45lpm which is a huge difference. I think since we do have the vortex sprayer we don't need the qualified amount like dwc's need but it sure can't hurt. I have 2 long stones stretching the whole bottom, think 14in. Yea when we move thinking about getting a couple of the new hydro farm phantom with the raptor hood and either the ebb and grow or aeroflo 60.

I had the Aeroflo30 on my list, but the separate buckets in the Ebb n Gro and Waterfarm are too attractive to me... It's still on my possibles list though.
 
looking great; you are making me jealous - I want some! Oh well, patience is the name of the game, and i will just have wait; it has been literally years since I had a great smoke. Here the dope is not worth buying. It is all super skunk which is picked too early and sold damp. I guess it is about the same a Low grade Mexican in the states. So you understand why I am a little envious.
My next crop, after the one I have now, is going to be Arjan's Haze 1 from Green House. I got the seeds last week and have planted 3.
I prefer to grow from seed, as I can only grow a limited number of plants, so I grow them big, and I have found from past experience, clones can never match a plant grown from seed, in terms of vigor and yield. What do you think, mate?

I've only grown from seed so far, but I'm happy with the results. I've ordered nothing but feminized seeds and have only had one turn out male, so I don't really need to clone to insure females. So far I don't have any reason to clone. If I get a monster pheno at some point I'll probably have a good reason then, but at this stage I'm not even qualified to distinguish monsters from normal, so I'll probably be sticking with seeds for a while.

If I lived in California I would be tempted to shop for clones at the med stores, simply because I'm lazy. Don't have that resource or option where I live, though...

I can probably put some up in the morning (depending on how much time I have between waking up and lights out). I'm semi-wasted at the moment, but I think my Blueberry has gone hermie from the heat. I chopped about the top 6 inches off to take a closer look, but I'm going to do that in the morning as well.

I have to recheck tonight, but I'm pretty sure the Blueberry is working both sides of the street now. I cut all the questionable buds, but we'll see what develops.
 
that sucks that the blues got so stressed. i forgest but why didnt you get 3 strains that were closer in growth pattern? Is the 3 working a lot better for space? I was thinking of dropping it 4 next go around. The 5 going now are all same height but crunched in the tent. Hope for a good recoverery your way bro with your girls

Well the plan was that the 12/12 from seed was going to keep all the plants low, but it apparently didn't do shit... :>)

Anyway, next grow won't be in the RainForest (although I'll probably be doing something simultaneous with it after the next grow is well along). This grow was to check out 3 different strains and to see what the 12/12 would do. I didn't even consider strain height, although the only oddball was the Kandy Kush, and it hasn't performed normally. It should be as tall as the other 2, but it turned out a dwarf for some reason.

I'm really thinking of doing a straight Super Lemon Haze grow next time, even though I haven't tried it yet. It just looks so fine I can't imagine it not being killer stuff. We'll see in a few weeks or so. I've been fantasizing about what 12 of them under 2 1000K lights would look like....
 
Oh yea right to 12/12 I remember now. Yea to bad they all could not be the same height as the kandy kush. You say its a dwarf, you think it will still yeild decent? I dont know those strains well but do they claim to have the same height? I will be going for 2 strains next go around and will have to deal with what you are doing even though they claim the same height and that they are short and stout but we will see. I know I can't wait to get a bigger space to garden with and some new equipment. It sure is nice to fantasize about. good luck with your finish. How much time left do you think you have?

The Kandy Kush looks like it has a normal amount of bud sites, and they feel pretty solid, so I'm already happy about that. The yield is definitely going to be proportionally smaller than the other 2, it's apparent, but all I'm looking for production-wise is enough to keep me supplied until the next harvest, which probably won't happen until December. I've probably got enough left from the LAST grow to last until September, so I'm cool for the year looks like.

I started checking trichs last weekend, and although there are a few cloudy ones, nearly all are still clear. Right now I'm guessing 2 weeks for the Blueberry, maybe 4 for the Super Lemon Haze, and the Kandy Kush in between.
