1st Grow: Blue Dream

Here they are together. Both look healthy but definitely longer roots on Smurfette who produced more.
Here’s a couple pics of the stalks. You can see that Party Girl is slightly thicker at the base, but the branching on Smurfette is slightly thicker. Smurfette had the nastier split at the top of the stalk from when I first pulled down the branches but it never slowed her down. You can also see the angle that Party Girl came out of the soil and how she had to be trained to keep her level up top.

You guys or gals that use fabric pots. Do you reuse them or trash them? If you reuse them, what method of cleaning them and making sure there are no nasties do you use?

Be popping them next week. They send you any freebies with yours?
That’s awesome. I wish I could go ahead and grow 1. Lol. Yes they sent me 8 free seeds. 5 79’ x-mas bud regs and 3 feminized Humboldt Legacy OG which is a cross of Legend OG and Humboldt Snow. I’d like to learn more about that one but it’s not on their website. I found it on their IG page but no real info about the plant itself. Just pics really. But very nice looking plant.

I reuse them. Nothing special just let them dry out real good and knock as much media as you can off them. Then I throw them in the wash machine twice. No soap just wash and rinse 2 times. Let them dry good again before I use them. I'm up to 3 times with some of mine.

When your up poting, do you just drop the smaller ones into the larger ones or do you take them out?

Damn thats a good tip right there whoevers it was.
I transplant like any other pot. If it's tough to get from one felt pot to another, put the first one on an upside down bucket with a smaller diameter than the pot and peel the felt down around the bucket.

I found that tip here and apologize for forgetting who suggested it.

I use the smaller one as a mold in the bigger one. Make sure things are a bit dry on the small pot and take the plant stalk between your fingers and turn the whole thing upside down. Squeeze the sides on the smaller cup to help move the plant and media out and now you should have the plant and media upside down in your hand. I use Great White when I up plant and they never skip a beat. Now is the time to sprinkle some all the way around the roots. Now insert the plant into the bigger pot and compact the media ever so lightly. Then I water it with about a 1/4-1/2 strength nutes that I was feeding and off they take.

Sometimes I just knock out media, that is what I did when I up potted the Raspberry Diesel. I keep the used pots on top of my compost bin, and it gets plenty hot in there, it's a covered container in our sun.

If their really dirty I will hose them out.

I had one I had to cut off a rootball that got trashed....it was pretty nasty....no biggie...one for ten or so.

Also, I really like the smartpots in 2 and 3, 2 for seedlings up to 6 weeks, 3 for autos, or longer veg, then 5s or 7s for my tent size.

I might just take my current veggers to 7 for giggles if I think I can get two in my tent sxs

I personally trash them I’m a clean freak in my tent .

I m like you I like to keep it as clean as possible. That is also why I had been interested in rockwool. Now I just cover my pots with coco mat. It helps avoiding any soil jumping and also preserve humidity and also prevent any leaf to be on contact with the soil
