Just me thinking out loud but the fact that your RH jumped so high is an indicator of how powerful and efficient the unit is. As I see it when your RH goes up above say 25%, your cooling power decreases so the answer might be to put the Swamp cooler on a cycle timer to see/saw the balance of RH to desired temps. Btw, Intermatic makes a digital timer that if I remember right, cycles up to 96 times per a 24 hour peroid. .V.
p.s. If you do go this route the trick will be to find the fine line between your on off cycles to keep eyerything in balance. At least that's how I see it.
When running a swamp normaly you half to open a window if cooling your home. But with the size of your swamp and space It might be helpfull to run swamp on low and keep your exhaust on constant.Today with my new air af-310 temps are 78 30rh.But I did pull my nets out of my bubble buckets and swiched to different solution bucket I normaly put infront of my window to swich it up a bit. This is prob.why its at 30%.But if your growing ice or skunk streins they like the higher rh as long as its fresh and moving. But some streins that are more indiginouse to dryer climates will most definatly give you problems like buddha for example likes to be well drained minimal nutes little water and dry climate I havent grown it yet but I have a neighbor which is old school and he is having hard time with her.
i am learning my unit is over kill. 450sq unit for a 68sqf room.lol i need to down grade.
i like your unit but i dont like how the pump doest shut off when the water runs out from what i was told? i see that being not good for me if i leave home, i will fry the shit out of the pump. how long doest you water last for in the tank?
Mine has a beep when the tank gets low Then if you dont put water in it it turns itself off.It is smaller but perfect for your room.I would not recomend turning it up the fan realy kicks out some wind.I would browse air and water.com for newest models. The unit holds 4L the tray pulls out from the bottom with huge opening to put included jel pack and ice.It has a lot of features?
Very healthy gang you've got going there, I think those girls like a hot time
I've got a question about the silica. How tough does it make the stems? I'm thinking of ScroGing. Being in a crawlspace, I'm liking the pest resistant properties of the silica, too. Do you think the stems will be flexible enough for that?
Thanks
oh it does turn off when the water run low? i talked to the sales rep and she told me that it will burn out the pump and wont shut off, i would have to do it. thats the reason i never bought one. how long dose your tank last for?
i like this one NewAir AF-321 but wondering if i will still run into trouble because of over kill? i like the big res on it.
do you know how many sqf you cools? whats ur sqf that ur cooling?
thanks!
The 321 has a larger cooling pad it may raise rh a little more it is only 5 more watts than the one i have.I think its a good buy but not sure if the pump turns off but it prob.does I would down load the pdf instruction book it seems to have all the features the 315 has just a bigger cooling capacity I like to keep fresh water in mine I think I fill it once a day but i didnt pay atention cuz ive been playing with jel packs to see how cool i can get.I havent filled it to full capacity I like to keep it fresh but if you go somewhere I can see where this would benefit.I would say it would run all night.
Yes I just double checked it and let it run out.It started beeping then cool mode turned off but fan still ran.It has a timer that you can also set for better peice of mind.
looks like you're getting your temps sorted out nicely.
I hate mixing a bunch of nutes too. Hope the GH dry ferts work well for you. OBX likes them, so I bet they will .
I want to share a tip on the GH maxibloom dry nutes -
I bought a fine mesh filter about 6" in diameter, and I pour the dry nutes in that while holding it just at the surface of the water in a five gallon bucket. I can grind up the big pieces of dry with my thumbs real easy that way, and let them all dissolve through the screen so you don't have to mix it forever to be sure it's all been dissolved.
