1080w LED Inferno

so far so good on the swamp cooler. the temps went from 87F* to 77F*
RH% went from 19% to 40%

i will put it to the real test when its hot and dry during the day when they work the best. usauly its around 95F* and 8-10% RH in the day, so it should work better. ill keep everyone posted:thumb:

Great minds MUST think alike cause I was just about to ask you what your RH was. It'll be interesting to see how long that res lasts too. Lower air speeds would surely give you more cooling time . Good looking cooler BTW .V.

Wow that is quite a jump in RH.The design on my unit is a bit different because of the carbon air purifier and its a smaller unit.I am at 70-80 degrees and still at 20 percent. Was about 95 yesterday and muggy outside.Today it was about 85 outside slightly breezy and my grow area was 70 degrees and rh still remained 20percent.I hope it works out for you Id feel bad for recommending it and have it not work.Veary happy with my unit.:peacetwo:

ya i am gonna see how long it last for between fillings?

ya its because its night time and the RH% jumps up to around 23% when i turned it off and just let the room run as normal, i also have a res for my nutes bubbling so i am sure that adds to it. 40% is cool with me because you want ur RH% around their for flowering. i believe 50-60% is good for flowering?

I will try it out for a few days and see what happens, i can always take it back no biggie.

I was thinking the same thing - almost.

They make a dry product for plants in heavy flowering such as peppers and tomatoes (and they state that for vegetative period, use the Maxi-Dry Grow product). That might lend itself more towards growing cannabis than using Maxi-Bloom?

i was thinking and i have never seen anyone do a grow using GH maxi dry nutes. Has anyone on here used it before? ive always wanted to try it out, because its allot cheaper and allot less work then mixing micro, grow, bloom all the time with the flora series.

I've always had maxigrow and maxibloom around as my backup nutes, but now with hempy, they are my primary since they're so much easier to deal with, and better results than with Dutch Masters, at least in the hempy buckets.

They work great IMHO. :thumb:

I also have used them 1/2 and 1/2 with Dutch Masters in a DWC, and I found the PH was much more stable than with Dutch Masters alone.

i just spent a while reading threads that were using maxi dry nutes. ive seen some real impressive results! alot of people claim to use only the maxibloom 1tsp threw the whole grow (same as the Lucas form),

7 grams/gal:
N 92
P 121
K 215
Mg 65
S 74
Ca 92

expect for when their young, then only use 1/4tsp. i was seeing some fat buds! it seemed to do real good in coco.

I think i am gonna switch over, i am tired of measuring and spilling nutes all the time. i was using dry powders before and loved how easy it was to feed my girls. i hate mixing 3 different nutes then still having to measure out all the other additives. its costing me too much buying all 3 parts all the time. when i could spend $13 and be good for a year.lol.

and from what i read the ph will be in the ball park i want it. i have to add allot of PH down to the 3 part with tap water.

today i am gonna get some maxibloom

I just wanted to make a comment concerning %RH and carbon filters. The life of activated carbon ends when the microscopic pores fill up. Moisture will fill those pores so a high RH will shorten a filter's life expectancy. The carbon can be "reactivated" by heating it in the sun or an oven, reopening those pores to absorb more odors.

Just wanted to throw that out as it is something to consider when using swamp coolers.

What's up Irishboy, sound like you have been having some issues. Wish I had the cure all solution for you but since I don't a few words of encouragement is all a got for you. Anyways sounds like there is plenty of people with some great advise. I know I learned a lot just reading all the comments. Plants look like they are not looking too bad and you are on the correct track. Not that I did not thing you where going to figure it out. Great job.....

Any idea as to how many times carbon can be reactivated? Might keep me from buying more too soon and what temp should I set my oven at? Too lazy to do my own research and thought you might know. Thanks .V.

Just me thinking out loud but the fact that your RH jumped so high is an indicator of how powerful and efficient the unit is. As I see it when your RH goes up above say 25%, your cooling power decreases so the answer might be to put the Swamp cooler on a cycle timer to see/saw the balance of RH to desired temps. Btw, Intermatic makes a digital timer that if I remember right, cycles up to 96 times per a 24 hour peroid. .V.
p.s. If you do go this route the trick will be to find the fine line between your on off cycles to keep eyerything in balance. At least that's how I see it.

I been using the GH Flora Nova series of nutes cause it's just a one part but haven't used the maxi dry yet. I do like the shelf life of dry ingredients though and will prolly try it out sometime in the future. Will it work with straight hydro too? .V.

18 DAYS OF VEG

I thought i would throw up some pics of the girls. the ones on the far right are the 100% perlite. the ones in the middle were the ones that have the problem. the ones on the left are a sun shine and perlite mix also.

one of the 95% perlite girls was the runt so i untied her and let her grow straight up. she is stacked with tight close nodes.

Looking good brother! Nice to here you got the heat problem solved. I have heard good and bad things about the swamp coolers, but looks like it's working great for you.

ive been thinking about that. do you know what RH% messes things up? whats the safe zone?

ya them seem to be doing better. ill things figured out. thanks for the encouragement:thumb:

i like how easy the FN is but i dont like how thick it is and how it always comes out at different ppm's

ya ill find out real short if they would good for me or not. thanks for the kind words on the girls

Great job Irish. Thoses girls are looking nice. :yummy:

thank you

I was just thinking that!

I think i might have gone too big on this one, and maybe a little over kill on my room? i cant hook this one up to a timer because its digital and you have to push buttons to turn the water pump on, or els it would just run as a fan.

i was thinking of getting the smaller one, 1 size down from this one and since it will be smaller it will keep the RH% down and their for run more cool since the higher the RH the less it cools.
make sense?
