Zurple's DWC Bag Seed Grow Journal, 2019

I wouldn’t think you would have very big swings until your roots were developed and really drinking. Are you seeing a level drop? The girls look great I say your in good shape and don’t change anything. Don’t overthink it all. Most on this site say just read your plants and respond. Keep PH in check and root temps and let her grow.
Thank you. Is it bad that I'm finding this easy, or am I in for a rollercoaster down the road?

So far everything has been better than I expected with the water temperature. I had a portable ac unit in an online cart just in case.
I won't need one now that the weather here will be getting cooler.

That was my biggest concern with all the research I had done on hydroponics.

This site has been a great resource and I'm happy to have made a few acquaintances on here.

I think I'll be topping soon, so I'm reading up on that now.

I bought the active aqua for our hydro set up. Heat here will always be an issue, we don’t have a choice.I'm way to busy to be doing frozen water bottles.

I refuse to do the bottles.

:ciao:
Your numbers are good.
Usually it’s heat, humidity stress. If it’s humidity you will get tacoing in the center also. Overwatering will do it and if your fan is bending the leaves. I use my lower leafs as an initial indicator of what’s to come but I’m more interested in the new growth. I wouldn’t worry to much right now.
Picture I put is heat/humidity stress
Did you move your lights to 18”?
How do you over water a plant in dwc mate? That must be a cool trick lol.

Nope, it genuinely is that simple mate. Keep your nutes the same strength untill the ppm starts to drop a bit. Probably be a few weeks. Then go up 50% and that will do you for another month.
Done. All there is to it mate. Ph shouldnt give you any dramas. Only fucks up for those that insist they can force feed them nutes. Long as your chilled and just let em do their thing theyll be pretty happy :)
The guys have got you well covered.
Only thing i can think to help you on your way is next time dont put them right into the buckets. Root them up in a rockwool first. Theyll be the size of the big one by day 10. Day 17 theyll have 4 nodes and be ready to plant. Do it that way and they get absolutely enormous cos at this point theres a thousand roots ready to go mental rather than a few trying to spread out as far as they can.

Re the topping thing, id recommend quadlining. Theres a great thread here by asesino on it.
Im a topper but his way is better. Will give you a nice, symmetrical plant to work with.

It’s more of a general statement of what can do it, not so much DWC in particular. Fill your buckets until it’s up into the baskets then tell me you can’t overwater.

How far below the baskets do you go? I am about 2" now, but doing a water change tomorrow. I have the new buckets measured at 1"

Funny thing is that plant 3 was grown from the bucket and it is catching up to the other 2. It's a different strain though.

As far as nutrients go. I have 3.5 gallons of water, so I based my measurements on 1 gallon, so it's like a little less than 1/3rd strength instead of going 1/2. They seem to be thriving and new growth every time I open the tent.

or their new buckets, I based the measurements on week 2 of fox farms hydro suggestions. I am at 380 ppm now, instead of the 320 it's been running at. That should still be well below FF instructions.

Pictures from this morning. All of my numbers have been the same all week, but water going down a little, so they are taking in equal water/nute ratios. Awesome!!!

If the roots are in the water and it’s bubbling enough to keep the above roots wet I wouldn’t change it. I’ve seen people add more to within a inch of the basket at flower when they start drinking more. Are you using a reservoir or filling by hand?

Filling by hand. I'm going to keep an extra buckets of ph balanced water nearby when they start drinking more.

Do not, I repeat, do not, ever listen to nute companies on how to feed your plants mate. We know better. Trust me.
We want you to do well as safely and with as little waste as possible.
the nute reps want you to survive without killing them and to use as much of their products as possible so you buy more.
For a full grow your lucky if I use 20% max of what is recommended.
Pounders need about 1400ppm to stay happy. Anything under 10oz shouldn't need to ever go over about 800 and 5ouncers, like what most of us aim for can generally be achieved with no more than 500ppm.

Keep it the same strength untill the ppm starts to drop. Otherwise all you're gonna do is cause tox problems and lockouts. The latter will look like deficits so you'll add more then fry them.
Just chill and feed them as weak as you can get away with mate.
They'll tell you if they want anything more long before any damage is done :)

Don’t use water without nutrients. Every time you dilute with water your ppm drop. If you have room you should look into making a reservoir. Like Barney said go by ppm for the growth cycle not recommended by manufacturer. I see people trying to mix nutrients without a meter and it puzzles me when they get it right.

I mix everything before switching them and I use my bluelab meter.

This is my 3rd water change. Plant 2 looks like some nute burn? no other plants have these spots, and if you go back to earlier pictures, these spots were there. I am assuming that this was from me feeding them too early when it was a seedling. Lesson learned, and since this is lower growth, I believe it's safe to assume this happened earlier and showing now? That's what I gathered from my earlier research.
