Yeah, I mean if everything was groovy at 24” might as well keep that going. Did it come with manufacturer recommended heights?

My blurple led was recommended for 24 in veg then lowered to about 18 in flower. I ended up being a lot closer then 18 inches on my first run, I’ll tell you that much! Haha I ran out of room fast, underestimated the stretch haha!

I added more fire power but had to raise to 30” I might regret that, but we will see, tomorrow will be day two. I already see growth but we will see if it’s growth, or if it’s stretch.

Haha yeah, it may seem like not very many people are following right now, but keep heading over to other people’s journals and they will eventually come say hi.

I don’t normally come to the site while I’m at work, as I’m usually over my data so I have it turned off. I did one round on my notifications from now to my last post

I will try to visit and follow a few more grows to pick up a few more friends. I try to do more on here, but I don't have much to offer yet. I read a lot of grow sites, but this is my only grow journal I have going. Being new, sometimes I feel like this site isn't as active as the other sites. I get a ton of info on youtube and reddit as well. I want to learn as much as possible, so I can help others when I can. Hoping our state legalizes soon, but we are in the south...

Again, I think it's great that you guys have the same passion for growing and consumption of cannabis. Especially when everyone stops to help out a stranger.

Updates as promised. I have added the lux/fc measurements from a phone app. Not sure how accurate it is. I am going to buy a better light meter, any suggestions?

Plants look great this morning. Things should be taking off.
I believe that more people read than responds. I’ve noticed when new growers start having problems, the experienced growers really jump in. I read the other forums also, but seems like a bunch of attitudes and less real help.

You have the same lights, so I have a question.
I'm dimmed all the way down at the moment.
I was told that to stay dimmed through veg, and crank it up in flower. Does that sound correct?

I need a light meter to make sure, I guess?

I used to be on George’s Cervantes forum, and trust me, this site is way more active then that one, that one is very behind as far as expanding the site goes, and making it better. I learned a lot, but find this one is better. Haven’t tried any others. Once you get others to notice your name, people will come!

That's great. I'm in Tennessee, so we have a while. Hopefully, we legalize on the federal level soon, that would help.

I'm going to Colorado for my birthday weekend and it's legal there.

Flower needs the higher light intensity than Veg for sure. I am running mine at 60% in flower and slowly increasing until the plants don’t like it, then back off. I went looking for a meter this morning and decided to order one.
If your not trying to get through the bushy plant yet, I wouldn’t increase. Increasing your lights has an effect on your feed rate also. I believe your on the right road.

Yeah I remember when Colorado legalized, that was before Canada did it so it was a pretty big deal (in my eyes) hope you have a great time for your birthday weekend. Remember they also decriminalized mushrooms too. Hope you have a great weekend

I think the best part of my first grow was just now, so far. I lifted the tops to find several, long, white, roots into the water. I knew I had 1 the other day, but this was the first time I felt like I am actually doing this. I love when my plants start looking like the pictures from other grow logs online.

All of the numbers are the same, with the exception that I increased the brightness from my lights. The plants are ROCKING since I followed Hydroholic's advice of dropping to 18".

Here are pictures from this morning. They look bigger and with new growth coming in. Plant 1 is the largest and plant 2 is the runt, even though they're the same strain. Pant 3 is a week younger than the other 2.

My ppm and ph has stayed consistent the past 3 days with no adjustments needed. They will need a little water added, but we are doing a water change this Sunday, so they may be fine until then.

Feminized is where it’s at! Takes all the guessing away, and possibly taking care of a plant for two months just to figure out it’s a male. Been there done that, it was ironic I gave them male names

Cut them to pieces a week or so after that photo. It sucked but it’s all part of the hobby I guess hahaha

They look great. When you do your first trimming you can take a clone of each plant, let it take root then flip over to flower to early sex your plants. This will cut out weeks of money if they are males.

If my ppm and ph stay the same for a few days, is that bad? I mean, are they taking in nutrients or not?

I'm trying to determine my next amount of nutrients to administer to my next water change. They have been staying around 300ppm. This is going into their 3rd week

I wouldn’t think you would have very big swings until your roots were developed and really drinking. Are you seeing a level drop? The girls look great I say your in good shape and don’t change anything. Don’t overthink it all. Most on this site say just read your plants and respond. Keep PH in check and root temps and let her grow.
