I put up some pics and a little info about them in my journal today.

As far as the purple leaves I'm starting to see it on some of the top leaves at 24 days in. :cheesygrinsmiley:

just got caught up mate. nice grow as usual. ur journals add pages so fast its hard to keep up sometimes ;)

quick question. how long does it take for the system to fill and drain? u flood 3 times per day in veg right? im looking for better systems than the iws as i have problems with the 5 i run right now, that cant be coincidence. wish i had the patience and time to diy my own but i just too busy. anyone who thinks growing is easy part time work has obviously never grown lol, and its harder again growing at scale. but i wouldnt have it any other way.

Hi Cultivator - Thanks!

I haven't timed it in a while Cultivator, but probably around 5 minutes - maybe less. I'm running it really small scale, but you could go 12 pots or something and still probably be around 10 minutes I'd think - less than 15 I'm sure. The timer is a 15 minute timer, so the floods are for at least 15 minutes regardless (15 minute increments). I'm flooding 4 times a day right now. I'll flood every 3-4 hours during lights on in bloom. I don't flood at night.

I've also run DWC variations, DWC/Drip combo, and drain to waste. RDWC is tough to beat for production and yield, but these (Flo N Gro or Ebb N Gro style systems) will produce very nice plants and yields (with enough light). Compared to many systems, it's very simple to run and manage and get results from - the biggest reason I've never got around to the RDWC project I've wanted to do.

One thing I like is that when the system isn't in "flood" mode, the water sits in a reservoir outside of the tent and away from the heat of the lights. Much easier to keep nutrients cool, and the necessity isn't quite as high anyway (as with DWC).

yeah i like the res outside the tent or grow room where possible. i dont run chillers in any of my systems, and they fine. ive been having issues with the iws control units. timer failure and sticking drain valve on all 5 systems, its one or other or both on them and its dsriving me nuts. i think i'll just pull the plug on the flood and drains after they finished these grows and switch them to rdwc. its taking 20mins to flood my 24 pot systems and 50 mins to flood the 48 systems. the pvc tubing is too narrow for the larger systems.

Hey C,Im horrible with all the system abreviations so im not sure what rdwc means but I run a 10 soon to be 15 bucket recirculating system.5 gallon buckets with net pots.air stones in the 45 gallon res in a seperate room to keep the temps down.the system runs 24/7 so no timers and no headaches at all and I grow large plants in it, 8 to 12 oz per plant especially with hid lighting.this is a very easy system to diy bro I can take some close up pics if you want just let me know if your interested:)

thanks jon. rdwc just stands for recirculating dwc. i actually have used the recirculating dwc and they good. I dont have patience to diy one though.ive seen a few builds and they are easy to put together, it just easier for me to purchase the system as i dont have the hours in the day to build from scratch. Im none stop all over the place like a mad man. i just wish this past time was legal so i could have a huge warehouse where i just have to be in one place so i can focus completely on my grows instead of fixing peoples fuck ups..lol

RDWC is a really nice way to go, but you have to stay on top of res temps a little more. Tough to beat it for yield though!

:) Thanks Gator, It's definitely a system that makes good results very attainable, and I'm taking the 'if it ain't broke don't fix-it' approach...
