Xlr8's Hydroponic Adventures & Photos From The Garden - 2012

Hey, X!
I just jumped in the last page, and must say your sea of green is looking fantastic!
Your plants are super healthy and budding up nicely. I really like the number of trichs on the fan leaves this early in flower.
Excellent work my friend!

i too, am computer illiterate...

'They' speak serendipitously of 'functional illiteracy'
I find it handy that my Mac takes care of me
I'll never fully grok cannabinoid biochemistry, and
My tombstone can say: This is not where I want to be

See now that went superiouptiously over mine head...
You gotta' speak s-l-o-w-l-y and softly lest I ,miss somethin'
You know the ears ain't what they used ta' be...

I thought I'd heard everything it could be called but you got me there pal...
I love it: "The one fingered Unicorn". Could even say that in front of my grand kids!

X! Great news on the mad growth... they look great!

Hey Norcaliwood, I did get that same scope. If CF's instruction didn't work, I'm just double clicking on the preview image on the right half (after you capture) then once that is all big, just click on the purple disk on the bottom. That opens a save window-- make sure the "save as type" is set to jpeg, not bmp, then save it wherever you want and upload to 420.

My autos sucked under 12/12 but they were shaded too since they were so much smaller than my other plants, among other factors...

It seems like autos can be a bit unpredictable in general, too. The shading may well have been a factor as well. Thanks for weighing in :surf:!

Naph, I haven't grown any autos, but don't believe it will hurt the plants to cut down to 12/12, but it will probably effect yield, at least somewhat. If you have a veg area, I'd flower the autos in the veg chamber with your vegging plants under 18-24 hours of light. :goodluck:

Hiya Mr Krip -

I've missed you buddy! Nice to see you around. I like your idea of putting autos in the veg chamber (if you have one). Good idea - hope you are well!

Hey buddy your girls look great like always.

Love the info being given here in your journal. :bravo: everyone for sharing all this great info.

Hi HMG - :thankyou:

I love this site for the willingness of so many to help others. I'm lucky to have some of the most talented, knowledgeable and helpful growers in the world hanging out here and sharing their experiences. What a blessing - thanks guys! :)

HMG, that includes you - you have a green thumb and some of the most happy/loved looking plants I've ever seen. :thumb:

I especially like Closet Farmer's signature that states " The more we grow, the more we know". Absolutely spot on! I believe that every time we start a new grow either from cuttings or seeds, we embark on a totally new adventure. thanks for that. Too many people think that it's easy; toss some seeds in the soil and away you go. they haven't a clue as to what to expect or what to do in the event of a pathogen or insect infestation. It's like I used to see these young kids get a job as a "Carpenter"; thought they knew it all, walking around talking about all this knowledge. The experiences that come from many, many years of learning are what it's about.
I also got a microscope camera, many years ago. It is a USB 1.0 and will not work on my Lap Top (Vista Home Premium) but will work off another, older (XP) computer. I will try that M'soft download. Thank you for that lead/link. I tried to change the format t ".jpg" but it wouldn't stick. i too, am computer illiterate...

I agree that experience is priceless, and some things can't be fully understood until you do it yourself and learn from the successes and failures. Unfortunately, the internet is full of so called experts and people who quote theory without an understanding or experience to back it up. I try hard to speak only from personal experience, or with a qualifier if not.

I'm not sure if I'm computer illiterate, but I'm pretty windows illiterate, lol. Mac for me! Just easier in most respects and rarely do I need to worry about viruses. However, I'm stuck with few options for digital usb microscopes. Doh!

I love it!! You already know I'm a Heinlein fan, and love seeing "grok" in a sentence... This might be my favorite Gator poem yet. Also, nice to see you around again, Gator -- thanks for dropping by. :)

Thanks Tricome!

I'm very happy at this stage. I'm thrilled with the trichome and flower development so far. I knew the Deadhead was a winner as far as trichome production, but the Chocolope and Super Lemon Haze are giving the Deadhead a run for it's money. This is the "fun" phase right now! I appreciate the feedback, and it's good seeing you. :)

I thought that would be slowly and loudly, as opposed to softly.

"slowly and loudly,"

Sign language is nicer than a megaphone. Yes, even the one finger unicorn.

I thought I'd heard everything it could be called but you got me there pal...
I love it: "The one fingered Unicorn". Could even say that in front of my grand kids!

The Beverly Hillbillies called it "The California Howdy"

That's it, that's it! I forgot about that one too. Guess I'm forgetting a lot of stuff lately...

I learn something new everyday. Actually, something(s) is more appropriate. I now have the terms "one fingered unicorn" and "california howdy" in my toolbelt, lol! I've never heard either of those (or maybe did hear the one from Beverly Hillbillies when I was a kid, but it went under my radar! :)

Now, "the bird" seems a bit lame by comparison. You guys crack me up!

Hey guys,

Thanks for all the input on turning auto's down to 12/12 . :D
