Re: Xlr8's Hydroponic Adventures and Photos from the Garden - 2012

i hope it was over 6 months ago last time you won, i just been reading the does and donts and it says if you have won in the last 6 months then you wont be able to enter, but been as you have been accepted it looks like you should be ok.
looks like its going to be a hard fought battle, some good names in their and its very tight at the minute, i wont say no more in case i get told off and end up getting a slap off one of the 420 girls, lol, knowbody wants to get a bitch slap, errrrr depends how good looking they are, lol

Re: Xlr8's Hydroponic Adventures and Photos from the Garden - 2012

@X you do deserve it mate, you got my vote as well, the 2 main people who have helped me have been x and tesmp, both are equal and have helped me the most and have given great advice to me and others, i changed my screen name x so my old 1 was pauldonp, just had that name in to many places and didnt want to bring the ontop so i got my name changed, so it is deserved mate, well deserved, if i could vote for 2 then i would, not even voted once yet but now its mentioned im going to go n vote,

if Tesmp's name was up their it would of been a hard call, but ill nominate him next month, didnt even know you could nomonate people, but u both deserve it in my eyes, lots of advice and plenty of help and you both have got time for others, some idiots on this site n i wont mention any names but from the last arguments the other day im sure you know who im taking about, they dont want to help and not interested in helping even when it says their here to help, their only interested in themselves and their own grow, but not X or tsemp their both in it to help, the way i look at it is where all here to learn and share our experiences and keep the cause alive, so well dont for been nominated its well deserved

Thanks so much for your support, I appreciate it. It's been nearly a year since I won MOTM, so I should be okay. It was just a real nice gesture on Alaskan1's part. :)

Great stuff on Jack the ripper a few pages back. I am going to try to research THCv a little more. The affects on auto-immune diseases intrigues me.

This journal is full of great info. It moves fast though! I checked in 2 days ago and in 2 days there are 4 new pages. I will have to check in more often.

You definitely deserve MoM. Thanks for sharing the way you do.

Wow brother, that's really nice of you. :thanks:

The THCV stuff is something I want to look into more, too. I really do believe in this plants power to heal, and it sure is real medicine to me. Have you seen this before?

It's a compilation of known research on medical uses for cannabis. It's an amazing list with hotlinks that has really kept me busy clicking and reading. Check it out if you haven't seen it - I haven't looked there for studies on THCV yet, but plan to when I get a few moments.

On the MOTM thing... I'm just happy to be on the ballot with people I have much respect for -- like yourself, for example. Not just saying that, either. :high-five:

Yes, it moved fast the past few days for sure. I think it moved 3 or 4 pages one day. Yikes! :yikes: Keeps me on my toes. Thanks again for the kind words and a delayed thanks for keeping the Steve Miller Band turned up in here. ;)

Awesome - I've had that song in my head all day already, now you've got me digging through my itunes -- gonna have a Steve Miller Band kinda day around here. Love the dude trying to pass him a joint during the solo - too bad they gave him the hook!

Hope you guys are having a great weekend - thanks for bringing a smile to my face, and giving me musical inspiration for the rest of the day. :)

Aww thanks man, I'd love to - I really wish I could! Because of my health lately though, travel has been out of the question (not sure that you were serious anyway). I've had a couple of spine surgeries over the last year and a half, and it's just not better like it should be, and travel KILLS me right now. Sure sounds like fun though!! Light one up for me when you go, huh? :)

Thanks brother! Steve Miller Band is hard to get out of your head - catchy stuff!

There are so many people with more challenges than me - they're the inspiration. Me, I'm just trying to get by, and tough this out with the hope that I'll get some more relief eventually. Time is sometimes the biggest ally in back/spine disorders, but patience isn't my strong point, and this has been going on a while now. I complain too much sometimes. I sincerely appreciate the kind sentiment, Shottafire! :)

:thankyou: a ton!

Re: Xlr8's Hydroponic Adventures and Photos from the Garden - 2012

Some pictures of the flowering ladies - Day 28 Bloom (since photoperiod reduction):

Plants in bloom are looking good, but I feel like they are a little slow on the bud development for this stage. However, these are Sativa dominant plants, and I'm much more used to Indica growth characteristics. Maybe that has something to do with it?

I've also been a little concerned with Nitrogen - seems like there is a little clawing on the sugar leaves of the OG Kush, and that plant specifically has a little darker green leaves. Maybe I'm over thinking it. Too much nitrogen can, though, slow flower development so I'm exploring whether and ways to reduce nitrogen levels slightly - I'll probably ease up on the micro and the Cal/Mag a little. I'm working with Corey from Blue Planet to cover my bases, so we'll see what he thinks, too. (Thanks Corey!!) I'm such a perfectionist, that my nitrogen concerns could just be me overthinking the deep green healthy looking leaves. Failing a problem, sometimes I look for one!

They really are the picture of health in almost every respect, and I'm very happy with things so far. I feel like stretch is about done, finally, and I'm happy with the height of things. The canopy is fairly even, and there are a LOT of tops - really what I was in fact trying to do seeing any of these could have gotten very out of control, height-wise. I'm happy with my bushes!

Oh, and I've tried to compensate for the HPS lighting with my white balance, but they still look a little yellowish. They don't in person - just an artifact from trying to adjust white balance from the heavy reds in the HPS lighting.

Finally, I'm overwhelmed by the positivity, kindness and support from everyone here, and in the MOTM voting. I feel really lucky to have found these forums, as I sincerely think of so many of you as good friends. All I can think to say is a very heart-felt:

:thanks:

Re: Xlr8's Hydroponic Adventures and Photos from the Garden - 2012

@X things are looking great mate, not seen many mutant leaves before but then i havnt got that many grows under my belt, cant wait till mine get to flowering stage, i havnt been back to my grow today as its mothers day so at my moms with my daughter and been here a few days now, but been popping back every 2 days to adjust lights and water plants, their really taking off now the leaves are growing, but if mine look even half as good as yours ill be chuffed.

under your plants i c them black wires are you using scrog or just lst, method, ive read that many journals its hard to remember it all, im thinking lst with mine if i ger more than 1 fem but if i only get 1 fem ill try scrog method, is their anyone who could advise me on purple strains im picking my berry bomb seeds up tomorrow n the picture of the buds when you search using google are amazing just wondered if its only down to the night time temps been low, ill be happy what ever but if i can bring the color out ill be even more chuffed, i just hope mine go as well as yours are, plus the more i grow the more mistakes ill make and the more experience that will give me,

but so far X yours a lookin amazing, well done mate
