Xlr8's Hydroponic Adventures & Photos From The Garden - 2012

Re: Xlr8's Hydroponic Adventures and Photos from the Garden - 2012

well, at least he used a male for it.

I never even thought about that -- now I kinda want to dump my avatar, lol. I don't want no stinkin' male, mang! I'm no cannahomophobe, but I dig chicks more, so to speak. Can I pretend you didn't point that out to me?! :thedoubletake:

Re: Xlr8's Hydroponic Adventures and Photos from the Garden - 2012

@ Xlr8, thanks for the link im checking it out now, im early 30's now and im going back about 8 years, we always called it jack flash and i was smoking it over a few years so the strain was around a while and it always seemed to pop its head up every now and again and we would always seek it out when it did, so would any jack be a similar strain with that tangy taste and smell, almost like cat wee but in a nice way, it had the most amazing smell, not a skunky smell more realy tangy and fruity than skunky, or is their similar types i could possibly try,

Try the purples or the kushes... they're tangy/sweet like that.

ROFL!! Think of it this way- "No smoke was harmed in the making of this Kirlian photography."

Re: Xlr8's Hydroponic Adventures and Photos from the Garden - 2012

ive been looking at the purps, never seen one in real life but looks damn nice, i have got one special kush in veg as long as its fem, and if i can get anywhere near the same plants as in this journal ill be so chuffed, think Xlr8 is doing a brilliant job and im gona watch this journal through to the end.

now you know what part of world im in you might realise how far behind the people are who smoke cannabis are, most are unaware of names and types of plants and differences in buds, the youngsters today dont really care as long as they can get wasted and usually ripped off paying £20 for 2grams, i used to pay£20 for an eigth so i wont pay these high prices, for a smoke thats grown for comercial gain rather than taste and smell, i prefer to know what im smoking and find something i enjoy.

Re: Xlr8's Hydroponic Adventures and Photos from the Garden - 2012

n the link took me to exactly what i remember, it says the plant grows quick and produces well, and mine certainly did that and you could notice the grow every day,

im begining to think i need to stop hyjacking Xlr8's journal, sorry mate, ill take it elsewhere and leave you to it, dont want to be doing your head in and taking up alot of space in your journal, after all your journals about your grow and what your achieving, all i will say is well done n i can only hope of getting half as good as yours,

Re: Xlr8's Hydroponic Adventures and Photos from the Garden - 2012

prices have gone up i admit, luckily i can get a eigth for £25 as long as he has some to sell, i just know i could produce better and i certainly wont be selling any ill be smoking with friends and ill enjoy the rest, im not in it for the money, im in it to get myself the perfect smoke and know exactly what im smoking, its all good from here on, ( well as long as i got at least 1 fem plant i should be ok)

Re: Xlr8's Hydroponic Adventures and Photos from the Garden - 2012

@ Xlr8, the link for your avatar is amazing, what an amazing result passing electricity through plants, the results speak for themselves, amazing, they would make amazing posters or even art on walls in a house or flat,

Still beautiful in my opinion:thumb:
You could always go back to the Orange and green one I came to know you as, X:Namaste:

Re: Xlr8's Hydroponic Adventures and Photos from the Garden - 2012

I'll put on a throw back av if you will X!:high-five:

I just spent about 30 minutes trying to find it again -- no luck. Maybe I'll try something new for fun anyway... :)

Re: Xlr8's Hydroponic Adventures and Photos from the Garden - 2012

Wow, I'm really flattered and likewise honored! Thanks A1 (and of course Missbud, too). That really means a lot to me, and the feeling is mutual. Thanks friend(s)!! You guys sure know how to cheer me up. :)

:thanks:

EDIT - Oh yeah, and I saw your offer to Godspeed - doesn't get any cooler than that, and I offer you mad props and much respect for that incredibly generous offer, to one of the truly nice guys on this site... What a great gesture. :high-five:

I made the offer for a few reasons.

1. I know how I would feel if something like that happened to me. I need my meds like I am sure Godspeed does.
2. I'm hoping that some of the sponsors see some regular guy making an offer like this and help the guy out as well.
3. Perhaps some of the other people here who have equipment they aren't using may follow my footsteps.
4. I feel like we are a family here. Grown pretty close to a few people here. Family sticks together and helps each other out when they can.

Now everyone hold hands and sing kumbaya :Namaste:

It was a helluva kind gesture, no matter what! Just be careful when dealing with people who you don't really know, ya know? Having said that, I agree, some of the nicest people I've ever met are members here. :)

Nice avatar X

My avatar is what I look like after a pipe full a bubba kush :)

Re: Xlr8's Hydroponic Adventures and Photos from the Garden - 2012

Dude, I'm tellin ya Bubba kicks my ass for some reason. Too much I can't walk I just lay there in bed lol
When I have REALLY bad nerve pain in my feet I use Bubba and 10 minutes later I'm like.........foot pain?? I have feet?

My wife gave me some Pre-98 Bubba Kush seeds as a gift (yes, my wife rocks!) that I will have to grow out at some point. What an awesome gift, huh?

I've been thinking of breeding with it, too, depending on how things go. I thought it would be another good one to pair with Jack the Ripper, but I didn't end saving any of the Jack the Ripper pollen from the male I just used - though I have more Jack the Ripper seeds. Subcool had this idea too, and he HAS crossed Jack the Ripper with Pre-98 Bubba Kush, which coincidentally is his newest strain on the market now called, "Ripped Bubba" (I don't think a lot of the seed vendors are carrying it yet, but it is out there now).

Bubba Kush is known for it's high CBD content and many medicinal properties. Jack the Ripper is one of only a handful of strains tested to have a significant amount of THC-V (new research has found very promising possibilities for THC-V medicinally). Seems like the 2 would be a good match, and definitely something I might try at some point.

Re: Xlr8's Hydroponic Adventures and Photos from the Garden - 2012

A little more regarding THCV. It seems that THCV isn't present in significant quantities in most Cannabis strains, but it is notably present in the strain, Jack the Ripper. In fact, THCV is shown to have a lot of potential medicinal benefits (including dietary/weight loss, Parkinsons symptoms, Cancer prevention, and more). After reading up a little on THCV, I'm even more excited that I used a male Jack the Ripper plant in my little breeding experiment.

From Subcool:

Jack The Ripper
Primary Cannabinoid: THCVRatio Rarity: 42%
Form: Raw Plant MaterialMoisture: 6.98%

Calculated Active Cannabinoids
CBD: 0.38%
CBN: 0.42%
THC: 20.22%
CBC: 0%
THCV: 5.05%
Total Active Cannabinoids: 26.06%

Also from Subcool, regarding THCV:

THCV, aka Delta-9-tetrahydrocannabivarin

"I had never heard of THCV before I stumbled on the test results at Full Spectrum Labs but when I saw the results for JTR coming in with Total Active Cannabinoids of 26.06%. I studied the test results more carefully and saw the listing for THCV at 5.05%. After spending a few hours using the searchable database at FSL I discovered only a small number of samples testing for THCV and none as high as JTR.

What the hell is it and what does it do? My research has uncovered the following information. Unlike your body's own cannabinoid anandamine or plant based THC, THCV does not activate CB1receptors. THCV instead binds and activates with the CB2 receptors as well as blocking the activation of the CB1 receptors serving as an antagonist. CB2 receptors found more in the immune system are thought to be responsible for cannabis's beneficial effects on autoimmune disorders.

THCV is a powerful antioxidant that actually attracts free radicals.According to Spanish and British researchers the effects of THVC show promising results in the field of Parkinson's research and the treatment of ameliorating Parkinson symptoms.

It would be nice if we had US testing data but in the US science seems to be determined by politicians not real data.

What I can tell you is THCV is now available in a natural medicine one that big pharma is not making a profit on. It can be found in the TGA strain Jack The Ripper and while some don't like the name I choose its medicinal effects can not be denied any longer."
