Xlr8's "Flo N Gro" Hydro Multiple Strains 2011

Hey not that you are wanting to change your fertilizer or anything but I am using the Titan controls Flo n Gro system and am currently using General Hydroponics Flora Duo it is an absolutely phenomenal fertilizer. It runs about 34 dollars a gallon but when I switched over to it while I was still growing in dirt and it made all the difference in the world. Just another fertilizer option I was looking to throw out there.

I appreciate the suggestion. I'm very happy with the nutrients I'm using at the moment and plan to stay with them. As others have pointed out, the product is great, the price is right, and the service is second to none.

CDH, first, welcome to 420! :welcome:

Your input is always appreciated and I noticed that was your first post, so thought I'd get you up to date a little....

Most of us here are well aware of the GH Flora line and they are fine nutes. But, as you noted, they're approximately 10x the cost of a gallon of gasoline.

There are many good nute lines on the market, and being new to :420: you're probably not aware of the BPN line that XLR8 is using.

Not only has BPN been proven as an exceptional nute line by numerous grows here on 420, but it's also MUCH more affordable than most nutes marketed for MMJ growth; and, Corey, the owner, is not only a sponsor here on 420, but is extremely knowlegeable and is active here in the 420 forums providing his expert help and advice.

I don't work for BPN, or receive any commissions. Also, I haven't started using BPN yet, personally, but will as soon as my AN nutes run out.

That being said, you may want to check out some of the BPN grows here on 420 and the success some of the others have had, read some of Corey's posts, and then decide whether you want to continue spending $34/gallon on GH. :Namaste:

Very nicely said Mr. Krip. I agree with you 420% in every respect. You have hit the nail on the head. There is a reason Corey is running away with MOTM -- he's earned it! :thumb:

I'll second that!!!^^:high-five:
Blue Planet Nutrients RAWKS!!!!!

Agreed, Daddy GT! :high-five:

I've grown cannabis with Vita Gro, Peters, GH, and H&G.
I'm now nearing my first crop with BPN, and see no reason to back-step.

Back-sass is something else :)

:bravo:

I'd also like to add that you will NOT see a HG rep, let alone CEO or owner involved in EVERY grow journal using their nutes. Corey from BPN is hands on, personal customer service, when and where he can, and you WON'T get that from GH, especially in your personal journal....
OK Corey, I'll need that 5 dollar commission check sent to.....lmao:Namaste:

No doubt he is earning his business the old fashioned way, through hard work and putting his money where his mouth is. Nice job Corey!

Great looking Choco! :thumb:

Chocolope looks amazing :-)

Hey, XL. Those are some amazing, centerfold quality buds!!:adore:
Not to mention the yield and quality. Wowsers! Go, go gadget bud machine!
I definitely need to get some Lucy, and many others into my seed box.
:bravo:

Thanks guys! :thankyou:

Tricome: that Lucy is really good stuff, and I'm really hoping to grow another just like her soon. I feel like it's a perfect hybrid as it has nice qualities of both a good indica and saliva. The Chocolope is a similar high, frankly, but with a little more giggliness to it - I can see why it gets such high praise.

Both Lucy and Chocolope are good for getting stuff done. For me so far, Chocolope is better at enhancing colors and sounds, as well as relieving nerve pain... while Lucy is better at making me more creative and energetic. Surprisingly to me, the Chocolope can turn couch lock at the end if I vape too much of it, but I haven't had that with Lucy.

One benefit of using the 3 part is there is more opportunity to customize your nutrient program because there are 3 parts to play with.

The 2 part is simpler because of course you are only dealing with 2 bottles to mix. The 2 part also contains amino chelated micros instead of the synthetic chelated micros in the 3 part. Both forms of chelation work well. The 2 part does contain some fulvic acid as well as a product that I purchase from a biotech company that contains kelp extract, cytokinins, and extracts of microbial culture which increase plant vigor. Here is a link to what is added to the 2 part:
Bio-Activate® | JH Biotech
And its not cheap........

Well, I agree that it's nice having the 3 parts to make adjustments. I like the simplicity of 2 parts if it works well. I think I may stick with the 3 part for another round as I still have enough of everything but the "Bloom" formulation - and then I might try the 2 part. I just read up on the link to Bio-activate, and it sounds like cool stuff!

As far as the 3 part, I was going to send you a PM about this, but maybe it's valuable info for others...

How do you recommend adjusting nutrients in the 3 part when Liquid Blue is added to the mix? I made adjustments, but realized I probably should have gotten input from you as to where best to make the adjustments, and how much... For example, should the level of the "Bloom" portion decrease slightly when Liquid Blue is used?

I'd have to dig up what changes I made, as I figured it out in advance and didn't refer back to original recommendations much (and made adjustments on the fly as necessary). As I prepare for next round, I'd like to get your thoughts as to where and how much adjustment you would recommend as the Bloom Booster is added in... Let me know if I didn't explain that appropriately!

Thanks as always for your help and input! :high-five:

Fast as fast can be! You'll never catch me! Who remembers THAT Jackalope?

I'd love to get me some o-that . . . . Nice, upbeat, and tastes of those chocolate candies. . . .

Dave Coulier/AFP! :high-five:

Here's a real Jackalope

Deviation from the feed schedule is not necessary when adding the liquid blue booster during flower. I would start out using just a couple of ml/gallon of the bloom booster during the start of 12/12 but it can be used up to 10 ml per gallon as flower progresses. Just watch your plants because some strains will want more than others and some less depending on how heavy feeders they are. But, during the last few weeks of flower, pouring the potassium (LB is 10%K) to them will really add weight.

Perfect. Thanks for answering that so quickly! :high-five:

Well I think I'm about wrapped up with this journal, but I realized I hadn't done a real smoke report for Skywalker, Lavender or Magic Bud. So, I'm hoping this rectifies that somewhat. While I was at it, I thought I'd cut and paste some of my Lucy and Chocolope smoke report info into here so it's a complete wrap up.

I want to thank everyone for following my journal, helping along the way, and just being so fantastically supportive. You guys (and gals!) rock! :high-five:

I'm planning on taking a break until at least the first of the year, but I'm going to keep popping into everyone's journals and participating in the community here as time allows (until then).

Skywalker review (Vape report)

Taste/Smell: Blueberry all the way. Fantastic taste and smell. Probably the best "fruit" flavored weed I've had taste-wise. I really enjoy vaping Skywalker

High: Very nice mostly indica style high. Helps with general pain relief, some euphoria at the beginning, but mostly a kick back and veg sort of high. I like it quite a bit more than I expected, and find myself reaching for it more than I thought I would.

Overall: I like Lucy and Chocolope best, but Skywalker is a fun diversion and really good bud in it's own right. The taste/smell is fantastic, and when I want a good indica stone, I've been reaching for this quite a bit.

Lavender smoke/vape report:

Taste/Smell: Mostly fresh flowers or... lavender. An appropriate name. Seemed a little more grape early in the cure, but mostly fresh flowers now. Reminds me quite a bit of Purple Urkle I've had. Very yummy weed, though I'm not always in the mood for the flowery taste.

High: Strong indica high. A little spacey at the start, but settles into couch lock and will flat knock me out in short order. This is our bedtime bud, and is best not vaped/smoked if you plan on doing anything with your day. Really makes me melt and not care about anything.

Overall: This plant produced giant buds and is a spectacular indica. Mine didn't purple much, but it sure had pretty buds. I love this at the end of a long day, and feel at ease with the world after vaping it. When I just want to veg, it's this or Skywalker. I prefer the Skywalker flavor and high, but the Lavender is flat narcotic - and sometimes that's what I want.

Magic Bud smoke/vape report:

Like the Chocolope, the Magic Bud wasn't given much space. I've grown Magic Bud a few times before, and for a reason. It has a helluva good high.

Taste/Smell: Most of the time, Magic Bud has just had a slightly flower, fresh flavor. Nothing special, but fresh and good. This particular Magic Bud just flat out has mediocre flavor. Based on flavor alone, it's a dud.

High: Fortunately this Magic Bud still has a nice high. It's not as good as others I've grown, but it's pretty good. Based on high alone, I still find myself wanting it in the rotation. It helps with my pain, it is a good hybrid blend of uplifting and narcotic. Nicely in between, which is why I've grown it a few times.

Overall: Every other Magic Bud I've grown had that "just took a hat off my head" feeling with the high, or you would feel the socks on your feet... but this one doesn't. Still, a good high and nicely potent. I wish it didn't taste so blah, but I still like the effect/high.

Lucy smoke/vape report (as previously reported...): ;)

Taste/Smell: The flavor of the Lucy has already matured into something special and hard to describe. Initially it had a bit of a lemon pinesol thing going on, which actually tasted much better than it sounds. Now it's changed a bit, and has a lemony fuel taste that has a hint of sandlewood and other complex almost musky flavors. There are minor floral tones as well. It's difficult to describe, but the flavor is so good that I'm almost obsessed with it. I'm drawn to it. Even the lingering aftertaste leaves me licking my lips and brings a smile to my face. I've had great tasting weed before, but nothing with the complex, hard to describe flavor this has.

High: The high (of at least this particular Lucy), is not quite as described on their site. I feel no trippiness per se', but I float comfortably and feel motivated, energized, and creative after vaping it. No paranoia, no trippiness. Just happiness, positive energy and motivated creativity.

Overall: This is some very strong, killer weed, and the closest I've come to a truly special plant. Combined with a really unique look, and heavy resin-loaded buds this weed (or perhaps this particular pheno) seems to have it all.

Chocolope smoke/vape report:

Taste/Flavor: I love Chocolope so far. The flavor is maturing as it cures, but it started out fruity and seems to have a hint of chocolate now. I love the flavor even if it's hard to describe... The fruitiness really caught me off guard. Fruit loops comes to mind, with a tootsie roll aftertaste. The Tootsie Roll flavor is starting to become more pronounced as the cure progresses.

High: The effects are euphoric, and it definitely makes me giggle. Overall an upbeat high that makes colors more vivid, music better, and has very little couchlock. It's a Sativa high all the way, but it really helps with my nerve pain, which I have had a really hard time treating. Left my sore legs feeling warm and tingly, but not pained. Yahoo!

Overall: Both my wife and I are liking it on par with Lucy, which is saying a lot! Very fun stuff, and fantastic on my nerve pain.
