Xlr8's "Flo N Gro" Hydro Multiple Strains 2011

If you'd like any further "debate" you'll have to find someone and somewhere else to debate it. I've shared and reiterated my opinion, and you've taken plenty of space in my journal to share yours. Time to move things...
:focus:

Please accept my humblest apologies. It was not my intention to offend you, or create drama in any way. It was simply to point out that going below 5.5 for a little while will not cause harm/death to your very beautiful plants. It seems that we somehow strayed from that.

Consider the matter effectively ended.

Thanks jandre2k3 -

Thanks, but I should be the one to apologize. I reacted poorly, and I just took the idea of "debate" wrong. I was just about to edit my post as I wrote in a rush, and hadn't even considered the following posts yet.

I just never wanted to debate anything, as I didn't necessarily disagree with you - I just felt it necessary to advocate from my own experience, which is to say I've had good luck in that specific range, and I'm confident in it.

Thanks for taking the high road, and I hope you accept my apology in return. I like your enthusiasm, experimentation and desire for greater understanding. Sorry if I stepped on them a bit.

Hope you stick around -

Okay...... I HOPE, you all got a good laugh out of that :thumb:

As long as there is more than one grower there will always be a better way ;-)

Corey, great report and personal observations. I enjoyed the read and hearing everyone's views.

XLR8- Thanks for the great journal and good tips you always provide. I'm with you too, we can all learn something from each other and share our love for gardening :thanks: The girls are looking awesome!

Hey xlr8:high-five:

I finally get caught up and what do I find? You insulting folks! :circle-of-love:

Just kidding, of course. :high-five:

The ph info everyone posted is good for us all. Your girls are outrageous buddy...nice to see Lucy behaving. :thumb:

Like the amp that goes to 11......Spinal Tap

For a little humidity kick, you may try adding a flood cycle to your "day" to provide a little more moisture. The plants are drinking a bunch when it is dry, but the ton also dries out faster too.

OG13 - I love that idea and was about to do just that when I realized that the humidity had somewhat self corrected for now. But, I really like the idea - thanks! :high-five:

Good job staying on it bro and thanks for stopping into my journal..

Thanks buddy, I wouldn't miss it.

Sorry it took me so long to find it - Doh!

Hi X,

It took me a little while but I finally caught up... things look great.

I had a thought about the light and the cross over thing...what if you tipped each light out just slightly? to eliminate some of the crossover? I don't know if this would work or not, don't laugh if it sounds stupid. I only have one light and never considered such a problem before, but it seems like it might help.

Just a thought :circle-of-love:

Thank you Sqwheels! :circle-of-love:

I appreciate the idea, but I think it's fine, and I think there's more good to the added light than bad at this point. I'm not sure I've had anything worth worrying over yet, just observed some lighter coloring on a few leaves near the center, but it's not too bad at all, hasn't gotten worse, and the buds look great. Appreciate your thoughts though! :)

Well would you look at that! hehehehe It seems neither of us is wrong! Thank you Blue Planet Nutrients for chiming in. I wasn't saying Xlr8 was wrong, merely debating that neither was I. It seems that we possibly are having different results because of the water profile. I use distilled water in my grow. Xlr8? I think I read RO somewhere. :high-five:

Yes, RO. Sorry again for the misunderstanding. I need to get caught up on your grow(s) if you'll have me - I started a few days ago, but got interrupted before I got caught up.

Speaking of RO - I used distilled water for quite a while before buying a RO unit, and I'm thrilled to have it now. If you are thinking of sticking with growing for a while, they are worth every penny in my opinion (get's old buying distilled water fast!).

Corey....you didn't leave any gaps to fill, lol..
+ reps
i will say that i have noticed that different strains have their own ph preference ...sativas thriving with higher ph and indicas lower...seems ruderalis likes it all, even seen good results in soil with ph of 5!!!
GT

That's truly good info to know GT - :thankyou:

Let me help out, you are all wrong....

I did get a much need laugh out of that!

I agree, that was a really great post from Corey and the dialogue was good all the way around, aside from my foot-in-mouth issue.

Thanks for the really nice words/thoughts, 4twenty4all, and thanks for the bit of levity. I appreciate it! :thankyou:

Hi OMM - Yeah, I sure never wanted to do that, but in re-reading what I posted, it sure came across that way. I truly feel bad about that. It is good info no doubt!

:thanks: for the props on my ladies - they are getting more voluptuous daily, and I can't wait to try that Lucy! :)

Picture Update - Pics from October 30th - Day 38 Bloom:

The Lavender has 4 main tops, but 2 are clearly larger (both pictured below). I'd say we're getting into twinkie territory as far as size on them right now. They really do seem noticeably larger every day. :yummy:

The Lucy was topped for 4 tops, then topped again in such a way that it should have about 8 main tops (I haven't counted, but that sounds about right). They all seem about the same size.

The Skywalker was topped for 8 tops right away, but seems to have 4 that are larger than the rest (vs. Lucy who's tops are all about the same size).

The Magic Bud is just a slightly shorter plant, and wasn't originally going to be part of this grow, so she's probably going to be a light yielder in comparison to the rest. She should also finish a bit earlier. She has some nice looking buds of her own though!

Hi X,

Those girls look so good  and full of beautiful buds

You have several different kinds, will they all harvest around the same time?

:welldone:

Hi Sqwheels - thanks! The Indica heavy hybrids should all finish around 9 weeks or so. The Magic Bud maybe a little earlier than the rest.

Chocolope is a Sativa, and I could see it going even a few weeks longer, but it's also in it's own little hydro system, so that shouldn't be a problem... It's not getting much light or attention compared to others and probably shouldn't have been a part of things this grow - I just have a hard time letting go of plants if I can squeeze 'em in. ;)

I see lots of swelling going on nice job so far XL I cant wait to start hydro

Thanks Crower - I'm guessing you'll do great with hydro. Can't wait to see you try it! :cheertwo:
