Xlr8's "Flo N Gro" Hydro Multiple Strains 2011

Very nice XL ladies are coming along great still cheering on for the choco damn shame she isnt putting out for you bro...cant wait to see the ending results nice job!

Hi Crower! :thankyou:

She's doing really good now Crower, but a little behind. She'll have to go a bit longer than all the others, too, so maybe she can at least bulk up a few fat buds for me at the end. I'm going to try to elevate her when I can, but she's pretty squeezed. Fortunately, she's healthy now though so we'll see where she takes things. Wish I had more room, but who doesn't?! ;)

Looking great as usual XL!

I'll have to do some reading up on this LUCY strain all you guys are growing. I never heard of it until I started seeing you, K and OMM growing it. Is LUCY short for some longer name? What is it derived from genetically?

Heya GG7 -

Lucy is a name we use because the strain name is not allowed on these forums. Think, "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds".

It's from Barney's Farm, and it's strain name would be pronounced phonetically like this: Ell Ess Dee. It's also known as "Mazar-Skunk" as it's parents are Mazar and Skunk #1, and is actually the preferred name by the admin staff here. Lucy is just easier to say than "Mazar Skunk". "Ell Ess Dee" is a poor strain name in that they don't really want search-engine results that key in on that name with the forums here, if that makes sense. Just not a desirable association due to it also being the name of a hard core drug.

Lucy (the Cannabis strain) is supposed to be trippy, hence the name. OMM and a few others speak very highly of it, so I had to try it! I believe it's still OMM's fave strain... and it sounds good to me. 24% THC!

Setting the light to tungston will remove most of the red and orange.

Thanks Mr Smith. I tried that, and it helped definitely. In the end, I was able to set the white balance similar to the tungsten setting, then shoot in raw which gave me more flexibility in post processing the images and getting the color right before converting to JPG. Some of the pics still look a bit yellow, but I think I can further tweak it, too.

Oh man I really did it this time!! Lol, @ GG7, brother please, I meant no disrespect to ANYONE here, and I have nothing but the highest respect for Brother XLR8 so I will be sending you a PM that may better explain what I was trying to say....I am far and away from the kind of person you described....milk toast....I was only refering to the people who knowingly and coldly abuse the system that is meant to help those in REAL need, as I have experienced myself.....

@ Brother X, my friend I apologize for starting an uproar, was meerly joining in the chant, and meant NO disrespect. I know your situation to an extent, and was in no way referring to you....

I dont say "Much love and respect" just because it sound cool!

MLAR:Love:--Q

Anyway BACK TO TOPIC YOU A-HOLES!!:blunt:

No worries from me Quix! :high-five:

I knew what you meant, and when there are people who abuse the system, it torks me off too. I'm not offended or worried, but I did want to try to keep things from escalating. You're an important Grow Bro to me here, Quix, and I hope that never changes. That love and respect still, and always will, go both ways. I knew you weren't referring to me - you're a good friend. No worries brotha!

Your last line was priceless! :high-five:

That was a great politcally correct discription of the LUCY! I have one LUCY seed left and am going to prepare for my next grow! :goodjob:

HEY X. yea you did a great job of taking the red out of the photos. I thought you might have put the MH back in lol. the grow is looking great though. got a few over achievers I see. nothing wrong with that! Im liking what IM seeing.

I'm not really into the "trippy" aspects of Cannabis after a very unpleasant brownie experience about 12 years ago. The friend who made them used extremly potent bud to create the Cannabutter he used in the brownies. I arrived late to the party and I ate an entire brownie on an empty stomach, while he and my other friends had only taken a single bite each about 30 minutes before I got there. Of course no one bothered to tell me that they were unfamiliar with this bud being used in butter. I had partaken of similar baked goods from this same friend several times before with no ill effects.

About 15 minutes after I ate the brownie, my party mates one by one started saying the dreaded "WOW! This is a lot stronger than the last batch!" Before the stuff I ingested even kicked in I already I knew I was in trouble! ;)

I've had Mushroom trips that were less intense than that edible high I got from that brownie! I could barely stand, and I was seeing double for hours. It finally started wearing off about 12 hours later, but I was still feeling moderately stoned for several days afterwards!

Put me off edibles for life, and formed in me a real aversion to Sativa effects or trippy effects in general.

Picture update - Day 21 Bloom

I spent a bunch of time today trying to figure out how to remove the reds from my photos (caused by HPS lighting). I think I've gotten it much better, and I'm excited to show off the improvement. :)

WOW! They look like they are standing at attention! They are healthy and magnificent looking. She will catch up. Did you consider a bend on the tallest limb? Not saying to do it, just asking if you considered it ;-)

Cool - hope you journal that one. I'll follow! :cheertwo:

I know it sounds funny, but I was so excited to get the pics figured out better.

Yeah, there is a little height difference. The main tops on the Lucy and Lavender are the tall ones in the pics - The Skywalker and Magic Bud are about even with the secondary tops of the Lucy and Lavender. The secondary branching is actually really well developed on all the plants and much of it is close to the height of the main tops. A SCROG would work pretty good in here I think...

Hiya GG7 -

I've had the bad brownie trip, and it's no fun at all. I've had a couple but the last one was really bad. I'm much more careful now, but I still like edibles. Took a few months off though! I like high THC strains, and a little trippiness when not overdone, so I'm excited for Lucy. :)

Heya Sisco!

Yeah, since doing a little defoliating a couple of days ago, the limbs actually look a bit more slender than they seem in person. Pretty stout plants overall, especially at the base.

Time for a massive Vape rip off the surfer... Ahhhhh... :bong:

:)

Hey thanks 4twenty4all!

Do you mean tallest limb on the Chocolope? Or the one (Lavender) top that's above the rest in the photos? Sorry, I'm pretty stoned at the moment and might not be tracking fully... ;)

:thanks: 420fied!

Your recent Blue Planet Nutrient SOG harvest has me stoked about things and gives me further confidence these nutes will produce. I was a bit nervous as I had my DM nute routine down and working well, but these are the healthiest most robust plants I've grown, hands down. And you've already shown the flowers can be spectacular too. :high-five:

Thank you. I hope your harvest exceeds your expectations my friend. Your plants look very happy!

I was thinking that bending the tallest tops to keep the canopy a little more even. Probably the Lavender that is the tallest though.

Looking very, very good XLR8

I am totally stoked that these journals are proving the quality of my products. Thank you for the great grow so far and I know that it will only get better.

Also, I read a few days ago that the Root Conditioner I sent you seems to be doing the trick. So you are using double the dose? That is good info for me. Could you PM me with the exact dosage schedule you are using with that product?
