Woodsman Outdoors

Woodsman, I want to write detailed reports, but I keep forgetting why I'm sitting at the keyboard.

The NL#5's all kick ass. Plain and simple. Feel high from the first hit and it creeps up up me every 5 minutes or so. 20 minutes after the last hit, I think "why am I still holding this bowl".
Note: typing is harder while holding a bowl

Back to the NL#5's
Big Girl: nice cure, tasted spicy - best of the bunch
NL5: tastes sweet, hits harder than the rest
The Runt: hits fast and keeps giving - I'm on the runt now

more later
...
I'm back
our tornado sirens went off and my kid freaked and came downstairs.
Everything is fine. weird.

peace.

Man Woodsman, I hate computers.

I had some trouble with a couple Acers I got at Wally's a couple years ago and ended up taking them back. I have an Acer desktop that is okay though.

Laptops are subjected to a lot of trauma on a regular basis. My niece broke one beyond repair dropping it on a pillow on her bed.

Anyway, use the wife's laptop and go online. Type all your questions into google. It may help. Rephrase the question if necessary and mention model names and stuff a lot too. Maybe cut and paste your question into google and change a few words until you get somewhere. You may just need to take the battery out for a minute or something.

Good luck friend.

glad 2 hear the water cure works sux about the lap top my gateway lasted 15 months & bit the dust hope u get it workingRoorRip

Thanks to you all for your support and 'sympathy'! I got the darn thing working! Soon after I posted that I couldn't in fact, isn't that always the case? I had just left the darn laptop after trying again for the millionth time with the alt/F10 (No restore cd) to restore to default manufactures settings, when I went to 'kill' the computer (shut it down out of frustration) there right on the darn screen was the page I'd been waiting for all evening! 'so you want to restore your comp to factory setting.........YES! Worked till 4 am last night(this morning) but still couldn't get my 'paid' anti virus up or my email (password issues). Today I've got the anti virus up to date and still need to all my internet provider for some password help (email) I've got a billion updates still to do, in fact I had started it, and was about 3/4 of the way done (downloading) when I close the lid (used to just go to sleep) but it shut down! Will have to start the update thing all over. Just checked in to see whats going with you all and here I am!

Very funny Hypo! Your right about the luck, at least I have some (bad)!

I am so glad that Joe was able to visit and try my stuff! I seem to have a problem (among many - LOL) with taste and smell. Perhaps it's an age thing, or just a brain thing? I can taste and smell alright, but I just can't seem to make a 'comparison' to real life 'things'. I just cannot ID what it is I'm tasting, mental block or something. Same with smell.

Had a great time with Joe as he was in the area for bike riding (that's why he made the trip all the way here. Again let me stress.... I've met Joe previously under different circumstances so trust was not an issue. I would not advise meeting' folks that you don't 'really' know already.

I also do not 'sell' my stuff. Personal consumption only. Joe had helped me in the past so I wanted to return the favor (Joe had given me some ferts -cal mag and other things - pH kit etc. in the past). Sent Joe home with a 'care package'. I've asked him to give me smoke reports and such as feedback, since I can't seem to ID the taste/smell myself. Also to see what someone else thinks of the potency. Unlike many of you, I don't have anyone at all to smoke with (wife doesn't smoke any more) so I was clueless to what I've got (I get ripped on all of it, but do others? )

The 'Big Girl' Joe is referring to was from my last indoor that was harvested at the end of April of this year. I still have a nice top left that has been in cure since then. It was my favorite of the two (the Runt) that had potency. Fatleaf was the third NL#5 that I had grown and while it looked the best of all three, it lacked in potency. The runt was regenerated for this grow and seems to have benifited from the sun. While it still looks like the last batch, late to finish and very ragety looking, it is sweeter and perhaps even more potent than it's first growth (indoor).

I hope Joe can keep helping me with the rest of the samples and continue to give us some great reports, I have tried all my stuff now even the stuff that is not fully cured, NL#5, Runt, Mazar and the Bubba Kush. All of them are very good and potent. The three Bagweeds, 1A, 1B and #2 (Pink Lady) are all terrific and each has a different taste, though as I mentioned above, I just can't put a name to the smell/taste like some of you can.

So thank you Joe for helping me out! Looking forward to more input!

Forgot to update on the water curing for the 'moldy' stuff. Fourth day of cure, first day had hydrogen peroxide mixed in with the water (to kill the mold) and sure enough, could not find any of the spores after just the 24 hours of the cure using my Radio Shack scope. Since then I have changed the water (distilled) every evening and it is getting clearer and clearer every day. Should be doing this for a week total, then like Lavender suggested, I will bake the stuff in the oven (low temp) till dry. Or at least dry enough that I can air dry with a fan the rest of the way. Amazed that the trichomes don't even get affected, they are all intact.

Now that sounds good. I bet it will kick booty when it's done.

I hate laptops. When you finally get rich I'll build you an kick butt computer!

Glad all is well.

Thank you buddy, I think it will! When I get rich, I'll have a list a mile long of all the things I'd like to do (with in reason of course) and having you build me a computer is now one of them!

I'd like to wish everyone a very very happy a nd safe Thanksgiving Holiday !!!!!

Hiya Woods my friend,

I know I have been missing in action...but just cruising by to wish you a wonderful and...

Happy Thanksgiving

I just love that peacock picture...that bud is simply amazing, a beautiful plant we grow.

You know I always watch and read your journal and am glad you have a harvest you can be thankful for, especially after a wonderful meal tomorrow....:rasta:

:peace: from my little garden in the frosty mountains....brrr.

hiya scooter clown,
what cha been doing, havent seen ya around lately...

woodsman and fans, howdy, hello, and happy turkey day....good food, and good friends and wowza smoke....how can we lose....

woods, i think i would use the fan first to blow excess water off the smoke...then when it not soggy, i would bake it...i prefer 100...but not everyones oven will go that low....

also on the 'very dry' buds in the jars....when they are crunchy on the outside, and still soft on inside; then you do the lid off fresh air, stir, lid on...let sit, and repeat as many times as nec....it works, just a learning curve like everything else....happy turkey day....L

Thank you all for your kind words and holiday wishes! L, thanks for the instructions (i.e. oven temps, fan first etc.)

Heading to my brothers for a late afternoon meal! See y'all soon!

Soaking weed in peroxide and then baking it? Hmmmm Maybe you are better off making hash out of that stuff IMO lol.

Happy Holiday!

It is cold and miserable here.

Happy Holiday!

Very cold out here also, miserable in fact and I can't wait for spring and summer to roll around again.

Apparently it's done. The hp was used only on the first day (24 hours @ one part hydrogen peroxide to 8 parts distilled water) since then it's been rinsed and then soaked every night since tomorrow I'll start the drying process (with fan) Killed all the mold or at least the spores are all gone. Not a one left that I could find.

For hash? No I've got so much hash making material now that I should be set for a long long while. I could have seven different kinds of hash for the seven different plants I harvested. Mazar Hash, Bubba Kush Hash, NL #5 Hash etc. etc.! I've got some killer scissor hash that I've cooked (fried) and rolled (as in rolling pin) a few times that is amazing. Nice and pliable and very very strong.

Happy Turkey Day Woods!

Thank you Odin I sure did. I was a good boy and had only one serving. A rather large one of course! LOL

Your wondering if there is a 'suppression' of the effects? I hope not! I think it will be just as potent as before judging by what I see in my scope. I empty the jars every night then rinse the buds in a spaghetti strainer with fresh cold water, wring it out (or rather, shake it out) Then it goes back into it's jar and I fill it up with distilled water all the way till it overflows. Put the seal ring on it and them tighten down the lid. No air in the bottle. Gotta do this till the water is clear (about a week now for me). Dry good and smoke!

Yeah as long as you don't knock the trichomes off there is no loss in potency. In fact, from what I have read, because of the way that a water cure removes some of the veg matter, the final product is stronger.

Winter is here now. We have had snow and frigid temps. I can trim a bunch of my trees now that the sap is down. We are having a tougher than usual winter so far. Hope you are well and warm. Hope you had a great turkey day too.

i mean you guys doing water cures kool always inovating an just had me thinkin of the surpression effects of mmj like in tumors an who knows what else now im actually think of all the effect from mj it truly is a wonder drug see this is an effect free thinking sparks wisdom in the brain

What I read about water cures is as follows:

1.The comparative weight goes down. you have less final product.

2. No weed smells, no aroma. I have heard you can smoke water cured weed in the streets and nobody will be the wiser.

It's very cold up here, in fact I need to go out and search for a screen or something like it, to blow dry my water cured buds. Went out there earlier and came right back in when the wind on the side of the house hit me!

Could you guys imagine, once MJ is completely legal how much will be learned about it. It will be looked at by mainstream researchers in pursuit of various cures. I know that some research is done now, but not to the extent and with the legitimacy when it is a 'legal (controlled) substance'. Of course that's not going to happen until it's legalized nationally.

I know what you are saying Woodsman.

You know I seen a program on PBS called the Botany of Pleasure. It talked about Apples, Potatoes, Tulips and Marijuana. It talked about how those plant species evolved because of man and only in a couple hundred years. Anyway, the author said that Marijuana Botanist are the best botanist in the world. I guess when you look at what (some) people pay for it you can see the motivation to make it the best you can.

It's titled Botany of Desire and it's a great documentary.

Woody,
We went thru everything and I forgot to write reports on some of them.
I found a seed in the mazar, it was not my favorite, but I will keep it just the same.
That bubba kush really kicked our asses, even though it was not even fully dry.
