w'man,
the co-op i belong to recommends water curing for alot of thngs, while the
best is to throw mold away, this is not a perfect world, and i do not see why the water bath wouldnt destroy the mold, esp. if dried after the process....i agree with the oven....very low temp....100-150 is all, i do mine two three minutes at a time, then check to see how warm the smoke is getting....you will prevail....the ganja gods only test those who show promise....and you show alot....wow, i agree, with all the crap youve been thru....write a book..., anyway here posting a campaign propaganda message about omm...hope you dont mind....hugs, L

public service announcement...VOTE OMM..please...VOTE OMM.. i want omm to win....just began campaigning for him when i found out my name was up there....boooooo.......i think for all the work you all have done and gone so out of your way to help others, its his turn....and i think it is a great way of letting him know how loved and appreciated he is during this time of illness..(and other times too)..we miss him very much, and need him and his cheer....hes one of the good guys....besides it was his birthday....now get out there and rock the vote.....go vote....go vote, OMM....thank you, and this ad was not approved by omm, but was by me.....he needs the handy pocket vape for his lungs....yeah team.....GET OUT THERE AND VOTE....hugs, L

Hi Lavendar:ganjamon:
Think I might try water curing sometime soon. Might be easier on the lungs.

Thanks for the campaign speech for me, however you deserve it more than me. You help any and everyone and don't really know your doing it. You have way more knowledge than I will ever have and you spread good will everywhere you go. Let the public decide who is more deserving. In my eyes your the one that deserves the recognition! :thumb:

Wow, can't be too upset with 28 ounces, I would have a smile from ear to ear... Very fun to watch. Great job....

Well I'm happy for sure sonzor my brother!

You know I would think that someone my age (or older) would have had to smoke a bit of mold at least a time or two. It is pretty common. I know I have smoked some nasty stuff in my day.

Seeing how it could happen to me so easy, I'm sure we've all smoked some before. Who knows what it's done to us though? LOL

I don't know what happens to the spores either, but they're gone when it's finished. You won't believe all the nasty crap that gets leached out of the buds, you should do a small cure just to see that. The first 2 days the water turns a nasty brown and looks like fermenting beer, bubbles and all. Or at least mine did.

I'm trying a variation right now! I'll explain below.

Howdy L. Well I've 'gone and done it'!

Water and hydrogen peroxide cure

I've taken about one part hp and mixed it with spring water filled each of the five 'half full' jars of dry cured weed (1A, 1B and #2 bagweeds) filled them to the top (at first). One jar just about exploded!@LOL The metal lid actually bent! so I opened them all back up (slowly, like a dropped can of coke) and resealed them (slightly less than full). They are bubbling away right now while sitting in a 'Rubbermaid' tub with a towel on top (away from any electrical outlets! LOL) I can just imagine tonight when one of them explodes! "It's nothing hon, just mice in the walls!" LOL (opening champagne!) I'll leave the hp in for a couple of days (ought to kill anything) then every day for the next week or so I'll change the water (plain spring water). When I'm done and the stuff is dried (thanks for the idea L of the oven), I'll check the stuff out with my trusty Radio Shack scope before smoking it. Hopefully it will be 'cleansed'.

Very glad I still have some 'good smoke' from each of the bagweeds. At least a couple ounces of the 1B and #2, but only about an ounce of my 1A. So it's sad after all the work put into them - six months worth! Could have been worse so I'm lucky I guess.

I opened up all my good stuff to dry some more. some longer than others depending on their condition. The Bubba is the only one now that does not yet have stems that will 'crack' so they are still breathing fresh air now in opened jars.

A real learning experience!

2 days. woohoo.
would you like to try the:
bong?
vaporizer?
both?
neither?

LOL

I've never tried a vape Joe. Is it a major operation?

Joe and I are meeting up soon (We live in somewhat close proximity though it will still be a long drive for him. By the way, Joe does not live in Chicago and I do not live near Chicago, though it is within a good day's drive.! So no guessing G-dog! LOL

See you soon Joe!

O my good friend! Nice to see you my brother. You've conquered the phenomena and now it's on to better things!

You two are both deserving of the award my friend, perhaps a Co-MOM is needed this time!

Like the King and Queen of the prom!

It's past my bedtime O! Here in the upper Midwest it's like 5:30am! The birds are starting to chirp outside for crying out loud!

Night all and may you all have a wonderful day!

Good to be back I've missed your good thoughts ole friend.
Vote for Lavendar all!
Catch you after you've had some sleep! :peace:

Good to see you posting again OMM!

I am done guessing for you Woodsman. I figure you are someplace between Montana to Upper Michigan. Where ever it is, I don't want to be there lol. Me, I am too far north and looking towards the south. One day I will live in Brookings Oregon. On the coast and on the Cali border. You got the good prices in Oregon, but a short drive to Humboldt county. Beautiful too.

Now ya got it! Between Montana and Michigan! Yup, that's where I'm at! I sure do envy you though my friend for living in such a great state! If I had a profession that allowed me to work from home, Northern Cal or south eastern Ore. would be great.

Lav, it is sort of an inside joke.

On another a site a fellow named Tex had a GIANT grow. Fields of 20 footers, started inside as clones and put outside 3-4 feet high. On his signature he mentioned the latitude, which parallel he lived on. He had picture of his property, talked about the lake and showed so many plants and rocks in his grows. Said he hunted arrowheads and spearheads where he lives, and put those on display. He would write in his thead and say stuff like, "I had an inch and a half of rain last night between 8 and 10. Well I was able to pinpoint his exact location. He also had picture where his fingers were dirty and you could clearly see his fingerprints. It would be all cool, well nearly cool, if he lived in California. But he lived in Texas and that would be a really big deal there. He started editing his information out the day I told him.

Incidentally, we met in Texas when I was on a road trip (this time of year last year) and I met him on route 66. We had some local food and he gave me 6 jars of his weed. White Rino, BlueBerry, Masar I Sharif and some other things. It was a blast meeting him.

Hey Buddy I forgot to comment on this, the way I cured it I left the containers open to the air at all times. I have no idea if that's better or worse or makes no diff.

That stuff must look nasty right about now. Take some pics if you can. Good luck!

woodsman,
be sure to dump all the jars out each day and move stuff around, the good jars that is....so all the buds get some fresh air....thats why i use half gal. jugs, so i can shake it up and move it around....once its done, you can put in smaller jars, but it does need air room and to be dumped out and repositioned in the jars, (heat)...from the fermentation, and it all needs fresh air to help prevent the mold....hugs, L

yep, the big T is a no fly zone for me....dont like to be all that stealth, but they got some crazy good peyote there....which im sure im never going to see again....

it is surprising what you see if you look....unfortunately, i do, im always trying to figure it out....dont matter what....he was lucky you clued him in...same as with us....we try to stay very stealth where we are....very red neck in our area.....with many generations of them....hugs, L

Hey Woodsman I got a start back at page 79. Didn't see any pic's up. Heard that sad word,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, almost as bad as 'miteZ' pm. I got hit with it every grow I've had inside since I moved here. I can't claim anything but serenade. I tried it, don't ask me if if helped, but between it and neem and other soap, it kept my stuff dead. Just have to keep up the 10 day cycle till within 3-4 weeks of harvest. Seems to have my mite issues taken care of rather nicely too. Now I'll go back and read what I should've before I posted. Keepem Green

First off, my friend, :bravo: :welldone:

And second. A deep bowing :thankyou:
from both of us :thanks:

You are too kind.
Definitely write a detailed smoke report for each.

Suggestions:
1. keep each weed in it's own thread
2. show pics of the plant throughout the grow
3. pics of final product
4. your awesome reviews

Peace brother.
It was nice to see you again.

Hi all! First off I just wanted to say that my laptop took a dump! Aghhh! Not the first time for sure, but always a very 'traumatic' event for me! I think it's the hard drive since I can't get past the welcome message from Microsoft with the 'loading animation' (I have vista). Tried to get it started in safe mode, but won't get past the file loading screen and always stops at 'system/disk' file. Just freezes there and says 'please wait' (after twenty minutes the first time, I gave up on that one (tried it several more times) still won't complete. I do not have a recovery disc, but in the past I've been able to do a full system recovery (factory default settings - like a new computer) This time when I do the alt/f10 it just won't work! Some strange computer text and that's it. Always ends up going to the 'welcome message' and then that's it. It just continues to ///////////load but never finishes. Any suggestions before I call the geek squad and they tell me it's like 200 buck (at least) to check it out and replace the hard drive?

I'm 'sick' when this crap happens and until I get it fixed will have to share my wife's laptop. If you though I was 'absent' before, this surely won't help! Oh by the way I've got an Acer Aspire 5270 laptop (and out of warranty of course)

Hey Wood, life sould not be complete (for me at least) with out things not working (ie computer and grow)! But everything will work itself out in the end!

Peace brother.
It was nice to see you again.

Glad yo liked my stuff Joe. great of you to take the long drive up here and hope it was worth it! Joe and I have met before when he helped me out last year. Otherwise I wouldn't advise 'just ' meeting anyone on here.

Sorry my post is so f0932thf n;waefljsa But I'm quite put out because of the comp issue! A happy Thanksgiving to all!

It's in it's third day of water cure with the first 24 hours involving a good hydrogen peroxide soak, Under the microspope all the mold spores are gone. Now it will be just plain distilled water every day.

The rest of my stuff has been opened and breathing much of the day (for a few days now and some of it is 'really ' dry. The only strain that is not 100 percent dry is the Bubba Kush and that one is getting 'extra air'. Should be fine in the end.

Man Woodsman, I hate computers.

I had some trouble with a couple Acers I got at Wally's a couple years ago and ended up taking them back. I have an Acer desktop that is okay though.

Laptops are subjected to a lot of trauma on a regular basis. My niece broke one beyond repair dropping it on a pillow on her bed.

Anyway, use the wife's laptop and go online. Type all your questions into google. It may help. Rephrase the question if necessary and mention model names and stuff a lot too. Maybe cut and paste your question into google and change a few words until you get somewhere. You may just need to take the battery out for a minute or something.

Good luck friend.

hi woods ,sorry to hear about the laptop, wally world has one (compaq 15")on sale black friday for 198$.If you didn't have bad luck, you wouldn't have any, lol.
