Woodsman Outdoors

I have been holding back asking about the Mazar. I know of a bunch of Mazar i Sharif seeds that were promotional give-aways at another site. You buy seeds from that site and they would throw in some freebees. I never got in on the Mazar myself. The freebees I got were PPPs (That I have yet to sprout). Anyway, there was a grow thread for the Mazar i sharif. A lot of people didn't care much for it. I have not have first hand experience, but my overall feeling of the strain is that it was not worth the trouble. Everything is subjective, but when you read an entire thread full of people on a really big site say mediocre you kind of get the feeling they are. You have to weigh that against what these guys buying seeds are use to when paying for seeds, so take that into consideration. I believe the plant is a hash maker from the Afghanistan area.

I had a small jar of Mazar i sharif from a grower in Northern Texas. He had a great start, 20 foot monsters, big and fat. The guy had the perfect place, secluded, near a lake and he would run a Honda pump out of the lake. The guy pushed Miracle Grow nutes, actually pushed them to the limits with over the dosage on the box and they were doing supremely... a very exciting thread. That was Last summer. Well what happened is in July it started to rain and it rained until October. The lake he was watering from grew to his grow spot and he had to take them down in September when the flooding started to kill his plants. It was a giant mess. He had never seen it rain like that over there in his 30 some years of living there. It was a freak failure. Anyway, he gave me 6 jars of various weeds (White Rino, Blue Berry, I can't remember all, but there was some Mazar in there too) when I was passing through last October. It was stringey and immature and no real statement of what the bud could have been like. I ended up giving all those jars to my son and girl friend that were living with me. I had fresh hash and indoor grown California Kush that I ratholed for myself and I let them smoke the stuff from Texas.

Woodsman and G-Dog. Two of my fav peeps swapping war stories. It doesn't get any better than that!

Mazar-e-sharif is in way north afghanistan so it makes sense that it's a hash strain. Hope it turns out great.

I think your plants will continue to mature Woodsman. I cut mine back to 5 hrs per day the last week or so and they still kept developing. And lots of people here swear by a few days of darkness before the chop, one guy was saying 2 weeks of darkness.

Hang in there with them.

Hey Old Buddy! :thumb:

Glad you and the wife got out for a while. Never been much of a gambler, little Black Jack and the slots. Love being high playing the slots......my mind goes maybe this is the one! :smokin2:

Love Reno....the old feeling it has. Great hock shops too! Picked up a few things every time I was there. People get disparate and hock anything. :riskybusiness:

Glad you had a good time!:allgood:

Hey Blue :ganjamon:
I do 24 hours of darkness when I can. I think it helps. But two weeks!!! No Thanks!

I also enjoy the games and tables. I feel if you leave even money you did good. But as long as a person doesn't go over what they planed on losing is a winner.
Nice plants. I love the way they purple out. In the cold. Hope your harvest is a good one Dude. Keepem Green

Hey G, your right about the free seeds, that's where this one came from. Bought the NL#5 and got five free Mazar seeds.

By the way, this is not the regular Mazar i Sharif, this is the 'new and improved' version crossed with Skunk #1. None the less, my first attempt last year ended with low potency weed. That was an indoor with only 100w of HID and no pH monitoring. Hoping this one will be different (outdoors - pH'd - great ferts etc). I thought I tasted some last night, but I mixed up the sample buds from the NL#5 and the Mazar. I think I tasted the NL#5 and not the Mazar. The NL#5 was good.

Still waiting, Radio Shack scope in hand! I thought I actually saw some amber on of all the plants, the Runt! The others are still just cloudy..............The Bubba is looking terrific and though she is small and doesn't have many secondary buds, her three major tops are really fat. Bigger that beer can fat (just the buddage not the foliage). Though not 2 liter bottle size like Wood has!

Hello my friend, the difference with mine being inside now is that they really do not get more than an hour or two of direct sunlight and the rest is very minimal indirect light. They do not get any 'darkness' except for a few hours at night. This may be what's 'holding up the train' so to speak. Your thoughts? Interrupted darkness? Delay in growth?

Hello O, you bet, a casino is a perfect place to be wasted, no doubt. Nobody cares that your eyes are red and almost closed and that your tongue is white from cottonmouth or that you are ordering cokes by the pairs from the cute waitresses! That's another thing I like about Nevada Casinos!

The casinos around here have woman named Brunhilde coming around (once every hour and a half if your lucky). It must be the support hose that slows them down.LOL

I also enjoy the games and tables. I feel if you leave even money you did good. But as long as a person doesn't go over what they planed on losing is a winner.

Hello my friend, my wife and I used to play poker on a fairly regular basis for awhile. Those folks all moved away and now there's just us! That was a very low stakes game, quarters and was more for the joy of it than making any money off of someone. When I lived in the Bay Area, there was a game going on every so often that was a tad more serious, Not too serious that we weren't all smoking and laughing and drinking most of the time. We both miss those poker games a lot. I'm too chicken to play at a table (casino) and besides, I'm never in a position financially that I can loose a lot or bet with the rest. Another thing is that I missed out on the whole Texas Hold-um thing. We always played dealer choice with draw, stud (5&7) and some of the stud games like baseball Woolworth, Omaha (kind of like TH)., so now it the poker machines at the casino if we really need a 'fix'. Though we only went this time because of the free night stay and 25 dollars each for playing. Otherwise we couldn't afford it at this time.

Grow and Photo Update

Well I'm finally starting to see some progress with the trichomes. Seeing some amber build up on the larger tops of the NL#5 so I might start with those tomorrow (or later today depending on where you are).

Tasted a doobie of some Mazar that I had drying (50 grams wet and all cloudy) from a few days ago and got nice and toasted from her :rasta:. She's showing a few amber trichomes now so shouldn't be long for her.

The Runt is also showing a few amber trichs here and there so she's close also. Thanks to my wife for allowing me to bring the plants inside and out of the cold, The Runt will now be able to finish! It was my lovely wifes suggestion that I bring them in, a combination of both paranoia and pity (mostly paranoia).

The Bubba Kush has three enormous colas that are much fatter than beer cans and is packed with mushroom size trichomes! Well at least they look like mushroom sized trichs in the Radio Shack scope!

OK here's some bud shots for y'all. Except for the Bubba Kush the ladies have been with me (us) since the spring (about six months). The Bubba Kush didn't get started till July (I think? :rasta:)

(Note: The tiny blue flecks you see on some of the buds are particles that have flaked off the tarp I used as a tent. I'll be removing these during the trimming process)

As always your opinions and suggestions are welcome and encouraged!

Thanks for checkin out my stuff!

Thank you for letting me (us) know this. This is not good at all, not at his age for sure. I had it in '08 and was in bed for ten days (delirious and barely able to breath from the chest congestion).

Jim, Do not do any physical activity whatsoever! Take your meds (antibiotics) and breath hot steam as many times a day as possible! We are all pulling for you to get better and fast! Wishing you a speedy and full recovery.
