Woodsman Outdoors

Great job Woodsman, I love that Bubba Kush. Is it a trick of the pic or are those fan leaves massive? All the plants look great with all the purple.

When I multi-quote I hit the multi-quote button as you described but at the end I hit the post reply button not the quote. It works.

Take care my friend. Keep those moderate temps coming.

great tent....i bet you were good at camping....does J like to camp?
wonderful colors, i love them....only had one that got purple, the bk, but had a purple diesel....really pretty....love those leaves....do you really know just how beautiful a garden you had this yr. and you did a fabulous job with it...just wonderful...hugs L and hubby:cheertwo::cheertwo::cheertwo:

Our Buddy Captain Cronic cut all his stuff down last week or so in the Emerald Triangle. My people in the Oregon Cooperative have finished all their cutting too. It is neat you are able to follow this to the end like this in the high north. A lot of the Nor Callies are already cut. You are in a class all your own.

:tokin: Knock Knock, it's that guy from the mountains here....hey I wanted some more of that spirit weed bro...I think I am starting to feel better...sleep was more relaxed and breathing while still crappy is better, didn't cough up a lung first smoke today...:cheertwo: Might send OMM a care package too...helped me. (That or the wonderfully cooler weather...:))

Just checking an seeing if my friend is ok and bringing by some good vibes back to your place for you and your lovely wife...I love seeing the things we do for our girls though (tent is amazing bro!)...I actually get why some of our mates get jealous. Mine loves the girls as much as me and mostly just as plants, she loves plants and is amazed how fast they can grow (me too)...always has enjoyed them. Lets me care for them though, she is an overlove/overwater care provider. And she really just can't seem to tell when the pots are light...:grinjoint:

:peace: my good friend from my little mountain garden.

Love the affects of cold weather.... girls look beautiful.

And Woodsman, I am preparing to compile my post about Cannabis pests from my last weekends research at a friends MMJ/organic farm. If you don't mind, and I provide you with my email, can you please send me all the photos you have of YOUR worms and the damage they cause? You can send your removal pics too if you'd like, however I will leave it up to you to add your removal tutorial as all the credit for that goes to you. Would make a nice contribution to the post from you once I get it started. :)
:grinjoint:
Thanks for the kind words about the plants Odin.

I will try to gather some pics for you, not sure about the tutorial as that is (I believe) property of 420 so I'm not sure if we can just copy and paste. perhaps just a link to the page? But I do have pics saved in 'my pictures' on the computer of the nasty little critters and the damage they caused. by the way I estimate that I lost up to a quarter of my buds to them. At least on the three bagweeds that have been harvested.

I and I'm sure everyone here appreciates what you are doing with this research. It will be very beneficial to us all I'm sure. :goodluck:

Looks like you are keeping those ladies nice a warm. Very nice job....

Thanks S. They survived another night of below 30 degree temps. I've got till next Thursday before it gets cold again (night time temps)

I took a temp reading last night (early this morning) inside the tent. It was 30 degrees outside at the time of the reading. I put the temp gauge about 3/4 of the way up one of the plants and got 43 degrees. Lower down (1.5 feet from the deck) it was 40 degrees. Humidity was almost 60 inside the tent, but I had watered them earlier that day.

Massive leaves buddy! Much larger than my extended hand and I'm a 6 foot tall guy (used to be anyways). They are just like the pics I see of other Bubba Kush plants. She is also becoming the most 'triched out' of all the plants I have ever grown.

The post reply button also works.

I am an experienced camper L and my wife has learned to enjoy it also. As I get older though I can only handle a couple of nights then it's to the hotel! Nothing like sitting in front of a small camp/cook fire, smoking some great sh*t and listening to the night time sounds of the forest. Last year was the last time I camped. Went into the Northwoods for a few days and nights (myself). Called my wife on the first night to let her hear the wolf howls over the cell phone (modern technology). Must have been a few different kinds of owls around as they went non-stop. Also a few animal sounds that I could not identify. Very spooky even for me! As I've mentioned before, I used to go up to the high alpine country of the Sierra Nevada's to camp and fish in the many tiny lakes and streams (mostly by myself - 99% of the time ) This was a weekly pastime I had for a few years (in-between girlfriends). I also had a few favorite spots within forested areas (7600 - 9000 ft elevations), only time I would even enter a 'campground' was in the winter when I'd have the place to myself. The roads/passes would be closed higher up. Enjoyed camping in the snow. It's amazing how cozy and warm you can be with a fire tucked into a 'dug out' area in the snow. Used to bring fire wood from work (empty wooden cable spools already broken down). Nothing like BBQ beef ribs or a T-Bone steak under the stars! Miss it all very much, California and the camping/4 wheeling. The 4 wheeling was a blast up there (no never did the Rubicon, though I've done Deer Valley trail (south from the Blue Lakes between highways 88 and 4) AT NIGHT no less! 7 miles of boulders with a stock Toyota SR-5 4x4 p/u extended cab. My friend caved in his passenger side door in his full size Bronco -too wide- bad idea- ( one of the few times I could get someone to come along).

Either I'm special :) or just plain crazy :rasta: Cause normal people would just not take the risk or put up with all the extra work. I guess I could just give up and harvest it all prematurely, but I'm willing to take it to the limit so to speak. I'm afraid though that eventually the northwoods winters will arrive and then 'even I will have to call it a day'! Just kidding. I just want to have plenty of great smoke!

Funny, my wife used to enjoy smoking with me, but even back then she would suddenly decide to stop and then later start with it again. She'd blame me for it because I'd be smoking and she'd want some! Eventually she just got fed up with the whole smoking scene and gave it up (for good I'm afraid) She's fed up with me for not moving us out west yet. I tell her that we will eventually do it and that she can still try to be happy while we're still here. It's all connected and complicated and my fault for not doing things when it was easier. Life for us would be so much better (happier) if we were living out west somewhere.

Lavendar was asking about some dry weight totals (I think it was her?)

So this is for three of the 7 total plants I've got

(dry weights only)

Bagweed 1A - 115 grams (4.1 oz)

Bagweed 1B - 125 grams (4.4 oz)

Bagweed #2 - 140 grams (5.0 oz)
(Pink Lady)

I figure that I lost about 1/4 of the total weight to the stem borers. There were so many gaps in the stems where there would have been buds or where only part of a bud remained (after operating on it). So 1/4 is not an 'over estimate'. Perhaps as much as an ounce per plant was lost to the little bastards!

The NL#5 is up next to harvest then the Mazar. NL should be ready in a week (I hope). Just looking for some amber trichomes.

Hi My Friend Woodsman :grinjoint:

Nice total so far (great Actually!) and more to come :cheertwo:

You have sure influenced a bunch of folks with this grow, me included.

Next grow I'll be trying NL#5, Mazar, and Bubba Kush....just because you like them so much. Thanks! :)

Tell the wife.....you'll get her there....it will just take time! :)

Just plain old BRAVO!! :bravo::bravo::bravo::bravo::bravo:

ok, ok,
i see the smoke, yes from here....and the spirit may be willing, but woodsman, youre burning your blanket....i cant read what youre saying...lol...but the smell is fantastic....of course it could be the pipe
that i have lit in my hand....yes, im just making it out....wessst is bessst, well, it does seem to be more legal here, but the sun is missing....and where the sun is....it costs toooooo much...looks like youre bound for oregon, or wa...eventually....tell her to hang in, she wont like it here either....moss will grow on her, or mushrooms, or someother soggy wet growth....its beautiful here when the sun shines, i think that happens a couple of days in august....ok, i'll shut up....my feet are wet and cold and that always makes for a good mood....later, L and thanks for the wts...thats quite the haul, and to think, a fourth at least is missing....drat the worms....:tokin::tokin::cheertwo:

Hey Buddy :blunt:

I got my hands on NL today. About to try it. Never tried it before. Should make me want more. :yummy:

If you really want to make the wife happy....come over here! There are a few places that aren't through the roof as far as price goes. Would have to drive a bit, but wtf? :tokin:

Hey Woods, I read your bit on Camping. I camped off and on my whole life and have tried it all. I have used tents, campers, cabins and conversion vans. Seemed I reached a point that I wanted a shower and bed and stopped for awhile. I thought it was just easier to rent a motel near a nice place. This year I met a girl in Oregon and she is a trooper that loves to camp in a tent. We camped all over Oregon this summer from the beach to the high desert. Had a good time too, although I am a bit out of practice. Have one of these inflatable beds that lets out just enough air over the night to make it time to get up as the sun comes up. All the camp grounds in Oregon seem to have showers now, and there is firewood for sale or free if you know how to scrounge. I guess we are getting back into it, although I would probably like to have a camper with a real bed. The summer seemed to short this year.

Thanks OMM, not sure how I influenced anyone, but I'm glad I did and hopefully for the better!

Perhaps I've taught folks to push their wives to the limit as I have? My wife asks everyday now, "When are you going to harvest the rest of the plants?" She is very paranoid and of course is justified (as I am to some degree).

The ground cover is pretty much gone with only some foliage on the lower bushes. If someone was curious and had some binoculars and were familiar with the look or profile of MJ plants, it's possible that they would figure it out. Otherwise, I have enough stuff around the perimeter of the deck and railing to 'break up' the view. With the naked eye none of my closer neighbors would deduce anything other than some greenery on our somewhat eclectic looking deck.

Hope you can find NL#5 (if you need the company name were I got mine I could PM you (not a sponsor). Many of the NL's that are out there are not NL#5 and most are marketed as just NL. Make sure you check with whoever you purchase your seeds from as to which NL they have. Most are predominantly indica while some of the NL are crossed with Hazes which (tell me if I'm wrong) are sativa. The Mazar is also a great strain and while my first attemp at it was not satisfactory, this attempt seems (or looks like) to be a winner. Packed with trichomes and pretty much solid buddage all the way up the branches. Also supposed to be somewhat pest resistant. I've found only a few attach sites on my Mazar and compared to the Bagweeds that is a major difference. Curious to see what I find during the trimming of her. The Bubba Kush is an amazing looking plant and it's too bad that I didn't have the seeds for it at the beginning of the grow. I imagine that it would be twice the size of the one I've got. It is really a 'frosty' lady!

Yup I know about the 'dreary' weather you get out on the NW coastal areas, but of course just over the Cascades it's sunny and warmer most of the time. But believe me, moving from the frigid northern Midwest to your area would be a definate improvement. About the only place that would be worse than here would be ND, Northern MN or the Upper Penn. of Mich. or straight up to Canada.

If it was my choice I'd live in a small town like Markleyville, CA or perhaps Miwok Village, CA. (about halfway between the Ca. Central Valley and the High Sierra's just south of Lake Tahoe. Places I used to pass through going up to 'my favorite spots'.

You stay dry L, if your like me, the bones just don't take to cold damp weather very well.

Not sure if I wouldn't feel 'trapped' on Hawaii (it's an island) although I'd be able to meet all you island growers and I'm sure there would never be a dull moment. My wife would love it though, just asked here in fact. I think she'd leave me in a moment for Hawaii if she had the chance! Says there is a huge Filipino community there. Who knows, she could be related to your big budded Filipino Nurse! She does have similar 'attributes'! LOL

Enjoy that NL O and let us know what you think. Do you know which NL# it is?

Yup the older we get the less enthusiastic we are about 'roughing it'! I can envision myself (and the wife of course) in retirement, traveling around the west in a motor home going from one beautiful place to another. Grow half the year and travel the rest!

Here's a few pics from last night showing some amazing fall colors!

Mazar

Northern Lights #5

Northern Lights #5 and for those of you that perhaps don't remember (we all smoke) her cola was supercropped right after she started to flower to lower her profile a bit. She was the tallest plant at that point and was sticking up above my 'cover'. Anyway that's why she looks funny. Kind of like a crooked stove pipe chimney!

Took these photos without checking the pixel settings. These were done in 3mp, I would have liked to do them in 10 mp to show the trichomes. I would have to reduce the size on them but you would see better detail than what I posted. Next time!

Hope you liked the fall colors!

I love fall foliage !! Good job Woodsman !!

Bet the wife is happy that you now have a stash and she has her house back ?? Did any of your plants became rootbound ??

I'm the one that is happy that I've got a stash, she could care less! She is still not happy because there are still plants out on the deck. I know what she'll say when they are gone. "That's the last time you will grow out there!". Guaranteed!

Working on a few more pics right now.

I got to give it to you, you got big gonads !! I just kept watching, waiting for the helicoptors to show up to tag you !! I had
3 buddys get busted this summer !! Growing on their property !! They were taged by a helicoptor and then was under 24 hr survailance till they swooped on them. They had phones tapped, hidden cameras . One guy harvested and had the cops break his door down and shine a light on him , that made him glow in the dark !! They had sprayed his plants with something !! Still a felony here bro !! There too, and this is why i really respect you !!

Big gonads? More like plain old crazy! I grow just about every year out there, but never to the extent that I've had this season. One ot two plants was never very stressful, both for the wife and myself. This grow is a test of nerves (for both of us). I'll be glad when they are all harvested and in jars curing. May have to bury the jars in the ground when they're all curing! Nothing like having a couple of lbs around the house! Should be no more than a week for the NL#5 and two weeks for the Mazar (if that) and then I'll bring the Bubba inside and who knows perhaps the wife will be so elated that I'm finishing up out there, that she'll let me bring the Runt inside also. We'll see. It would be a darn shame to not let her go the distance also.

Fingers crossed! :thumb:

For those of you that may have missed them on the previous page (perhaps) I've just posted some nice photos.
