Woodsman Outdoors

This must be a conspiracy! Your all sneaking in the back door when I'm busy posting my pics!

Two cases you think, huh? I'm thinking some half gallon like L says to cure in and then some quarts to store for the long haul. In the end I'll go to the Salvation Army like L says and just buy whatever they have! Sure would like to make everything look organized for once. We'll see.

Good night to all, see y'all tomorrow (or is it today)!

Now that's funny.....half my jars came from Salvation Army. :yahoo:

Enjoy a good nights sleep! :peace:

well, it looks like norcaliwood (thank you) got over here to help ya, so thats really good...wasnt sure if omm dealt with the same kind of bugs where hes at...and i plead ignorance....good pics, they are something else....and all real beauties...just gorgeous, even little bubba....if you can keep her from molding, she'll be fine...if she does, bring her in, warm her up gently, and put a breeze on her...she does like breeze....in my small area, ive found that works the best....

oh, i forgot, norcaliwood said the vacuem, i had shades of this horror movie from my last yr past....was vacueming the bt out where the plants are and looked up and sucked the whole top of a plant up in the hose, all 24 in of it...never thought to turn it off...it was sucking dirt and all...you know how shop vacs are, so i finally got her free and was looking at all her poor tattered leaves, holding the vacuem in hand, so i bent to put her back down and the damn thing grabbed another....same deal, all the way up to the dirt...laughed so hard i cried....so did hubby after we decided everyone would live, and they did.....this yr. was the battle between the fan and my hair...very long, usually in a braid and pinned up...otherwise it gets full of resin and is a mess...for some reason, we went somewhere, and it was down, and when we got home it was time to do chores, went in and a wad of my hair got sucked in the fan and wound around the shaft where blades are, next thing i felt was a fan attached to my left ear....pulled the fan clear up to my head, i couldnt get it loose, finally pulled hair out...ended up with a bald spot the size of a marble for a long while...its growing back now ... i left the wad of hair in the fan to remind me...now i pin it up and wear a scarf...growing can be hazardous to your health....and using that logic, i rarely vacuem anything but the floor in there....just a funny moment or two...L..so ive been mini scalped....

yes norcaliwood,
we can put anything on the labels....lol...when i turned 21? or close, my step grand father gave me a flask....(we are from a veryyyyy long line of bootleggers)( i dont drink as my gr. gr. ma said that stuff was to sell not drink, so never started) that said "pure ole panther pizz" and a pic of a black panther p'ing in the bottle...one of his old labels from his day....ive always had a thing for labels, a bit of americana...in a way, guess im still a sort of bootlegger, only diff. commodity...family traditions?..L

Whats up Woodsman, sounds like you got yourself some white flies at least that's what it sounds like. It also sounds like you have a little time before you have to harvest so I would not worry about putting some neem or any other organic solution. Maybe even some soap and water if you are really worried about it.. I hate putting anything on my plants but I have learned over the last couple of grows that sometimes you have to give it a good spray because the alternative is losing your hard worked for buds.. Just an opinion... Plants look very nice, hope they survived the storm. If I where you after all the rain stops give those ladies a good shake and get all that excess water out of those buds. Also just an opinion. As for the mason jars I would think you are going to need at least 2 cases. They are pretty reasonable at WMart, I think 8 or 10 buks per dozen. Its nice having all the same size jars. You can keep everything nice, neat and organized. And you can use them for years to come so the initial investment is well worth it. Just change the tops every harvest. The tops are like 3 bucks a dozen... Also just an opinion... Great job and good luck.....

Hey Woods ? You think you got them little sap suckers called white flies? They do hang on the bottom of leaves. They look just like little moths. They suck sap from the leaves and the leaves natural control is sap which can lead to molds ect where the damage is. You can see them when ya shake the plant till they resettle rite back on square one. I've heard alot works to kill them, neem, garlic, to clove oil. And even CO2 levels. Yellow traps attrack them, and what I found works if you can is a vacumn. Suck them paristes into the waste of your life. They do best at warm temp's like 80 degrees. Depends on where ya are in life, as to using tha vacumn. Your grow looks earlier enough to spray for them. GL And best to ya. Most this info comes from Ed R. Hope it helps
I think you may be correct (white flies) I had some larger powdery moth like creatures earlier in the grow that I thought were white flies and after reading up on them just now, they may have been, just a different species. The ones I got now are so tiny they look like white dust particles. But just exactly as you say, when disturbed they take to the air (en mass) and then return to the plants. I have tiny dots on many of the leaves now that are obvious 'dinner sites'.
I hadn't wanted to spray since my buds are just about ready (at least for an early staged harvest). Maybe I'll take off some buddage today and then spray so I'll have a week at least till my next harvest.
All the bug juice I've got says it's OK to use right up to harvest, but I think they are referring to fruits or vegetable that can easily be washed or rinsed off. How the heck do you get it off of the buds? I guess the rain would do that eventually.

I'll check at the Sal Army and see what they got. Otherwise it's walmart were they are not too expensive. Like 13 bucks or so for a case.

Hilarious (now not then I'm sure)! I don't have that problem anymore as I've not much hair left! LOL

Thanks for posting on your site a 'help' call for me L!

L you've got the greatest stories! Panther piss!

I'll think about the labels. I normally take a piece of white duct tape and with a magic marker just write the info down, Strain, date of harvest, trichome make up etc.

Hey buddy Ya I think your right about them being whiteflies, there are several species and some oare larger or smaller than others. Original plan was to do a 'staged harvest' starting today in fact. Much of my bagweeds are at clear/cloudy and I'd like to get some at that stage. They are hybrids I'm sure and may not be wise to wait too long, maybe the next harvest would be when they are all cloudy or mostly at the least. Maybe amber is not a good option with these gals judging by the great 'up high I got when all clear trich were present.

It will rain again later today (soon in fact) so I may not want to spray now, May have to wait till tomorrow to chop and spray afterwards. Great advise about shaking the plants after it rains. Bud rot sucks!

Hey Woodsman, just dropping in to say High!

Your grow looks really good. You seem to really be putting in the work and soon you will enjoy your just rewards.

I would have thought the Bubba Kush would be further along than it is, but everything looks great. Pray for good weather long enough to finish them.

We are having a crazy, short summer in our neck of woods. They say the wine grapes are a month late in finishing. Wine grapes want the same thing that buds want.. heat units. They say the pumpkins will not be orange for Halloween too. Same thing, need more sun. Now we are in a La Nina weather pattern and that means a colder and wetter fall and winter. I do not know if you guys are effected by that or not. It don't look too good. I think I may have to be sharpening my axe pretty soon for my outdoor.

Too bad about the weather! I don't know if it affects us out in the upper Midwest. I hope not, I'll have to check online if it does effect us.

Well the Bubba Kush was started very late (July I think?). I will move her inside by the window if it gets cold. She will be the only one that I'll be able to do this too. The others are too huge (the wife, remember).

hey wood i know you were just there but come back by my grow for some awesome shots from my new microscope!

Just went over and took a look at you pics. Amazing and for only $40? Nice!

Harvest Update!

Yesterday evening I did my first chop, Bagweed 1B.

Checked with the scope first and found mostly cloudy with some clear. I took about a third of the plant down, only one of the main stems and several secondary branches. After removing all stems and a fairly decent job of trimming (did a crew cut on them) I got 175 grams (wet). Or just under 2ozs when dry (estimated). Multiply that by three and you get just under 6 ozs (projected) on her.

Pics to come and more chopping today.

Edit:

Just chopped two main stems from Bagweed #2 (Pink) they were Clear with mostly cloudy. Maybe a quarter of the plant.

counting on energy this winter??....i like the energy, i get alot done...
hope the weather holds....if you lose the bk, it is the smallest of all...and im sure as popular as it is, there are more seeds around...i always worry about L.A.Conf....plants...they are the testiest ones...really picky with nutz, dirt even, and minerals....that thing is sooo hybrid and inbred i'll bet....sometimes it really sucks but she sure is tasty....love that taste...have an og that i would like to try, but dont want two prima donnas at once....if it wasnt for all the great things about her, i w
ouldnt bother with her...L

great job on deciding on what you want and doing it...remember tho, variety is the spice of Life...but thats just our way of seeing it...you doing good...yeahhhhh...L

Great Jog Woodsman, you have fresh weed to smoke now.

It was warm and sunny today, and I looked at my outdoor girls long and hard. I am wanting to do the cut myself. We are getting all the drying stuff out and ready... Just another week or so I think. I expect about half a pound from those three plants and a good ball of hash.

My indoor ladies, one in particular (Purple Kush), is looking to be a very big producer for me. Every time I look at her I see more bud sites opening up and more pistols in the existing bud sites. No way to do any kind of math on this one, but I would not be surprised to get over 4 oz from her of some premium smoke. She is a little girl, 3-4 feet, but she is so full and so busy with flowers. I am very proud of her. She was the one I had adopted from someone else.

Here is some dirt on the adoption project... The fellow that got those 40 plants that were ready to flower (like that one of mine)... well they all died on him. He wanted to veg them up a bit and other wild plans and something went wrong. He lost those 40 indoor plants and about that many healthy plants less than a foot tall. Very sad. I tried to help this guy, but he thought he had it all under control and blew it. I wish someone could have taken them that know what they were doing. There would have been a lot more premium smoke out there if they did.

|You know I seem to remember someone telling me when I lived in Upper Michigan that the crap that happens on the West coast forms the weather for the Midwest. That is the direction of all weather btw, west to east. So if we get lots of rain that would mean that you will get lots of snow. I don't want to be the bringer of bad tidings, but you may get some serious snow this year. And if not you can laugh at me all stoned and make fun of me lol. Win Win for me, as I will not be out there. I was asked to go to Colorado for an assignment very soon. I do not know if that is going to happen for sure or not, but I said yes. Not the perfect job... They want to pay me $50 per hour for 3-4 months. Well that is better than what I am making, but I have to abandon my indoor projects to do it. The recruiter told me if I shine like a diamond there they may find ways to keep me longer, but 3-4 months is so short to break up my home operation. My girl thinks we could save a lot if we did it and come back to Oregon only stronger. She is probably right. I will let you know what happens with that.

hey buddy those are trees the sould pay for the carbon offset post a pic of pinky while i sit her drooling n dreamin of her :popcorn:u lucky guy all that work is paying off i been here since the start of this gro if only i could have been growing we would been in the ball park show that pink bro i smell nug of the month ps is that the regen runt or u playin camera tricks on us ha great job man enjoy

Hi Woodsman looking great! I wish we could vote for 2 potm's, because I love your pink lady and OMM's Columbian Gold. But I'm getting on your bandwagon for this run (sorry OMM I still love your plants)!

FWIW, I sprayed my girls with neem like 2 days before I chopped them and I can't notice any taste of it. If you're giving them a week I wouldn't be too worried about spraying them.

Haha I am driving down the intestate using my laptop online.
Thank god I am not driving because I am the designated smoker.

We just passed the visitor center for Mount Staint Helens a few minutes ago. And almost went in. It is such a sunny day that I really wanted to go. Maybe tomorrow.

Woodsman must be busy trimming and smoking his proceeds. Or maybe he is making some hash (that is what I would be doing). I have a girl friend for all the trimming. They like having that job because they create their own stash of the nicest buds. And so this will be my plan very soon.

Hola Amigo, Como esta.

mota muy bueno para su cabeza.

Harvest Update

Hey all, sorry for disappearing for the last day (or two), but yes I have been trimming some of my stuff the last two days. I can only do a couple hours a day because of my back so doing a littel at a time..

Day before yesterday I worked on Bagweed 1B buds. did about 1/4 to 1/3 of the plant at clear and mostly cloudy. Got 175 grams wet on that small batch and yesterday I chopped a branch of the Pink Lady (Bagweed #2) and got 130 grams wet. It may be about 1/4 of the plant (percentages from plants are estimated guesses). I'll be keeping a running tally of the weights since this is not going to happen all at once. I need to hire some elves (the ones that are laid off form Santa at this time of year).

I'll post some pics and then I'll answer your posts.

First is Bagseed #1B (just part of the plant - maybe 1/4 to 1/3 of it) She was mostly cloudy with some clear trichs

Weight for this trimming was 175 grams wet

The next two pics are from yesterdays trimming of a branch of the Bagweed #2 (Pink). Got 130 grams wet on her. She was mostly cloudy with some clear.

Got to spend time with my wife later this afternoon so any trimming will be tonight.

I'm also just estimating what I've got left on the plants, I've got no way of knowing other than 'eye balling' what's left after I cut off the branches.

I sure hope that we don't get a lot of snow this winter. Last winter was record setting snowfall. Was that the same pattern your going to get this year?

Tough decision to leave it all behind to go make more money......in Colorado, I do it but I'd be moving from a 'pit' to Eden. Your already in a nice place to begin with!

Thanks buddy for sticking around the whole grow! I'll tell ya what, last nights trimming on just a branch of the Pink was something else. I had to scrape the scissors every few minutes or they just wouldn't work! The scissor hash was a ' one hit wonder' amazing, in fact my wife even commented about an hour after my first (and only) hit, that I looked very stoned. It also was a gagger of a hit! Couldn't hold it in for more than like 5 secs!

Howdy Blue and thanks for the kind words. OMM's senoritas are something else for sure!

We had two extremely windy days out here and today I notice no more of the tiny white things flying around when I shake the branches. so they may have been blown away in the wind? I hope so!.. I may not spray the three bagweeds that I will be chopping every day now (little at a time). I'll spray the other four ladies. By the way the NL#5 is starting to begin her fattening up period and is a very sweet smelling lady! Perhaps similar to my Big Girl from last grow. That would be nice.

there are some great grows here cannabis is so personal every plant an grower

It's like we're raising a family!

No idea what you said! but Yup I was a busy guy and was trimming away! Wish I could just drive around and look at the things I know you are seeing. I used to love driving down that area north of Portland. Of course I was stuck on Int 5 and couldn't go anywhere else for side trips.

Buddy that is nice to see:) Woodsman is starting the harvest! :):):):)
Believe me your a smart man to do it part at a time. :cheertwo:

Sorry about the back....better start using part of your new meds for that.

This is the start of something big! :tokin:

Hello my friend, yes it has begun! I think I'll have the #1B and #2 (Pink) all done by the end of the week. Both are excellent right out of the box. The scissor hash from both of them has been blowing me away. Reminds me of the primo hash I used to always get when I was a kid, same rich hashish flavor and smell.

My wife helped trim with me this evening and we racked up another 100 (wet) grams of Bagweed#1B. That give me 275 grams so far on here and I'd say up to 200 more to go on her for when she's a little more mature. I think I'll chop some more off of #2 tomorrow instead, I've got only the 130 grams (wet) from yesterday and I'd like at least half the plant the way she is now.

By the way, the postal scale I'm using weighs in '5 gram' measures. To the nearest 5 or 10. It was for eBay selling from years ago.

Pics of the days catch! Bagweed #1B
