Wonderland Grow

Hey there!

I had plenty of free time Friday afternoon, but somehow 420 servers were down, so I couldn't keep things up to date. But now I brought a bunch of pictures from the last 5 days, and I can tell my AK is growing happily. She won't be a monster, that's for sure, but now I can at least imagine that she probably ends up yielding around 2oz, if everything is done properly. On the first or second page of this journal, I mentioned that with a 0,5g/watt yield, I could get around 100g (about 4oz), but since then, seeing the development of my girls, I must say I'd be happy with around 60-70g.

I'm not sure if I achieved anything beneficial with the training I've done, but it's good for practice I guess. The girls took it fine, there are a few pics from 5 days ago and today. Jack started to accelerate her growth, and the AK is bushing out nicely.

I watered them with pure tapwater yesterday, I think it was 5 or 6 days ago when I last watered them (with nutes).

These two are from Wednesday. First, I only pulled the main stem of Jack, and I also tried to pull the bigger leaves of the AK to let light reach the lower branches too.

And one from the side:

I also bought 5l of ionized water, because when I sprayed the leaves with ActiVera and AlgaMic, my tapwater left these spots after evaporating. I thought I might be better using ionized water at least for spraying.
By the way, I don't think I'll use this ActiVera too often. Does anyone have experience with it? It's an aloevera extract, the bottle doesn't have any expiration date on it, but it smells really bad. I don't think aloevera should smell bad, but who knows.

This is from the next day. I realized I should pull the top growth only, so I pulled the whole plant to the other side.

3 pics from Friday, just to see their true colors. They were drooping, it was while the light was off.
On this first picture, Jack already strenghtened up her top growth, which I pulled to the side the previous day.

A few more pics in the next post, it only lets me upload 10 at a time.

Little Jack today :green_heart:

And not-so-little-anymore AK:green_heart:

Here you can see how I tried to shape the AK. I pulled the bigger leaves to one side basically. The two big 5-tail leaves (on the right and the bottom of the picture) were opposite side growth.

I've also put this small 6W desklamp and some additional reflective plates next to them.

A lot of new sprouts:

I also found this little guy in the tent today, I hope he was alone there...

This carbon filter is for 300m3/h airflow, and my fan is ~180m3/h, so everything should be fine when it comes to real flowering. Yesterday hopefully I'm getting my Ona too.

And finally, a group pic of the nutes. They look fancy together

Looks proper, let her grow out now and she'll spread for you.
Your plants are really taking off! Looks like you're getting that training thing down, I know it will reward you.
Looks good. I wouldn’t worry about size quite yet. Once they get a bit bigger they grow much faster. I haven’t seen autos but I can’t help but think they will Still stretch at flower. Keep on crushing you are doing great.
Thank you! :green_heart:

They will grow fast. Keeping em green!

I wouldn't worry about water spots.

I spray my plants weekly. Spots will wash off and doens't hurt the plant.

looking good there.

Two quick questions about colors.
I fed my girls tonight, with about 6l of water.
Nutes that went into the mix:
BioGrow - 9-10ml
FishMix - 5-6ml
BioBloom - 3ml (it was the first time they got bloom nutes, I'll also introduce TopMax next feeding)
AlgaMic - 6ml

So I've already noticed like a week ago that the top sprouts (but only the top on the main stem) have very apparent yellow tips, but when they open up, the leaves actually look absolutely healthy to me, it's only the very end of the leaves that show yellow. I don't know if it's a sign of nuteburn or is it a natural thing?

After I fed them tonight, the main vessels of a few leaves (which ones seemed quite random) turned yellowish too. The leaves themselves did not show any discoloration yet, but the vessels were definitely yellow to my eye.

Another thing that just came to my mind, I forgot to ask about it weeks ago: the stems of the first and then the second set of true leaves were deep purple. Now this purpling pretty much faded, at least as I could examine it tonight.

I don't have pics right now, I'm in the office, but I may upload a few when I get home.

edit: I'm talking about AK47, the older one.

So, here are a few pics.

Very apparent yellowing, but it's only on the main stem. The last set of leaves before this (the bigger ones on the top and the bottom of this pic) also had this yellowing.
I also noticed that the leaves turn deep, dark green quite quickly.

This is a side branch, no yellowing, but the dark green is visible here too.

This is how the bigger fan leaves look like. The yellow vessels kind of disappeared, probably it was just the small desk lamp that tricked me.

Just a bit a nute burn, looks great though!
Thank you.
I'm not too worried about nuteburn, since BioBizz is 100% organic, and lately I've read several times that organic nutrients are quite hard to overdose. I'm not going above the recommended amount though, haven't even reached it yet.

I'm now wondering when the first buds will appear. It was exactly a week ago that the first pistils showed up. What is an average time between the first pistils and the first buds?

Ok those are preflowers close to the main stock, if you have them on 12/12 or they are autos I would say it should only be a few days until you see actual flowers.

Thanks both of you. ;)
I moved the light from 12 inches to about 18 inches, since the manufacturer's recommendation is 20+ inches at this stage, they were a bit light shocked probably.
Now I'm going to just wait and see what happens, preferably without watering them for a while.

I found that a LUX measurement using my smartphone assisted in ascertaining the optimal distance between the plant and light. At the seedling stage LUX should be around 7800 when measured at the top of the plant.
