Winter Weedy Wonderland - Auto Grow - Royal Queen Seeds

Nicely done. Good luck with the delivery!
Thanks Carmen. It's always scary lopping off part of a plant. I'm sure I heard her scream in agony. Poor thing.

The delivery isn't going to be on time, or they would have been here already.
There was another order I did later yesterday, that is scheduled for today before 10 p.m. That one shows out for delivery. I'm sure they are bundling it all together despite their promise of overnight on the first one.
Such is the zon game....LOL

Good Morning all.
My watering bases are delayed "Due to severe weather in the delivery network". There are areas of Michigan getting hit hard with that white snit. We're supposed to get dumped on again tonight, with a little during the day.
Funny thing is...two of the Black Friday items I ordered from zon that come through the same hub got delivered last night. Driver threw them in the white snit, instead of placing them at the door. LOL
I'm going to do some work on the bigger plants today, maybe some training. We'll see.

This grow looks great and you have a great camera too,I'm new to autos but due to my lack of space and winter weather I've been told autos are much easier to manage in smaller spaces and faster turnovers so I'm doing some digging. This is the kinda thread that we all learn from tho you had nature chucking issues steadily lol but you got it all smoothed out very nice job,I'm curious about training and topping autos. I hear it's ok to do as long as you can get it early ?? What's your experience been so far ? And do you think autos are easier to manage in smaller places ?

Thank you! And welcome to the grow.

My last experience growing Autos was back in 2015-2017, so I have forgotten a ton about growing them.
I do remember they took up less space and were faster. I remember topping my Autos, but don't remember if it made a difference in harvest. I would have to go through some of my old very long journals for that.

I do train, just to help keep an even canopy and to open up bud sites to the light. I've seen lots of Auto growers in tight spaces, and it seems to work out well. I don't grow in a tent, it's all out in the open in a spare room.

Just did a little training today, and topped another one. Getting started early is good because the stems are more easily manipulated. The older they get, the harder they become and break more than bend. LOL

There are members on the thread that are much more experienced with Autos than I, so maybe they will also chime in on your questions.

Have a great day. :)

Awesome ty I been looking around the different threads and there's tons of info to dig thru lol so when you say you gotta dig I can only imagine with grow journals lmao but yes I'm looking into autos for that reason exactly, plus when I scroll the seed section lotta nice sounding auto genetics aswell. What's the time frame on an auto from sprout to chop ? Like 90 days give or take ? How would I divide the light schedule for say veg vs flower ? Does it matter with autos ?

I topped one of the Goat'lato plants. I have two, so I want to compare growth. Why? Because they are MY plants and I can do that! :laughtwo:
The Royal Gorilla has pistils. Auto doing it's thang. She's kinda hairy too.

I was utterly tempted to top the creamatic. I resisted but I did defoliate finally. Not topping is something I’ll think about for a while. And wonder what could have been.

If you are looking around at Auto grows, check out Carmen Ray's journals. She grows lots of Autos and knows her 'chit. There are lots of other members, but Carmen came to mind first.

I topped the Royal Gorilla this morning and did some gentle training. Will have pics in a couple days.
The 2nd Goat'lato and the Royal Creamatic will not be topped, just some light training where needed.
I got the little plastic plant/stem benders yesterday from amazon for training. But, the plants have to get bigger before I put those to use.
So, I'm using my wooden skewers with bread ties on them as "car hooks" temporarily.

Nice I def will check her out, think I seen her name a few times also ty
Check out Jon's First New Digs Grow

He grows a lot of big autos
Autos aren’t what they used to be
When they first come out, they were tiny plants because they were crossed with Indica
And there was a demand for small plants for hidden grows
Now that they are crossed with sativa‘s, you can get some really large plants

I have a auto that takes well over 160 days specially if you top it and do training

That's too funny. Thanks Joe.
I had another member in mind and just couldn't think of the name. I was at his thread within the last half hour. DOH! 😆

Nice so autos are even better than the last time I looked at them like 7 yrs ago ? Niooce!! I remember even before that when autos where not popular and seemed like no one knew what to expect....ty for the suggestions I'll def be checking these grows out.

I used those benders last summer and was able to start as soon as the stem was long enough. They worked pretty good and even when I took them off the bend was way better than the rest of the stem, fatter and stronger. I hope you like them.

Good Morning all! I've been worried about the delivery of the delayed watering bases because a white crap storm is hitting us. It began last night. I figured the roads etc. would delay it again, so I wasn't counting on that getting here any time soon. LOL No word from the zon on when to expect it, just "delayed" in transit.

At about 5:30 a.m. I opened the garage service door to see how much had fallen overnight, and there in front of me was a large box covered in white snit and soaking wet.
The bases are here! :yahoo: They must have been dropped off after midnight last night and it sat out there in the cold and snit.
Thank goodness, so far we are only in a winter storm advisory area instead of a winter storm warning.
