Plants looking great and Yea I agree that grow room is nice and spacious, I too am feeling a bit envious.... Also what's the size of your light? I'm even more jelly of that coverage....
4ft x 4ft ViparSpectra KS5000
I did a sponsored grow journal on the light, and a review.
Check it out at their site, they are one of our sponsors

Nice I wanted a 4x4 so bad but I'm a brokey lol so I settled for a 4x3 and I truly love it

Well, I got lucky.....and that chit don't happen often. LOL

See the sticky trap hanging from the light? After I was finished adjusting the fan and the light this morning, I left the room and continued on with other things. When I came back in the grow room, there was no sticky trap.
I found it. Right smack in between the two fabric pots on the left. The fan apparently blew the rod off the light fixture that it was hanging from.
Nothing hit the plants that I can tell, but the sides of the pots got stickies on them. WHEW!
The sticky trap went away, nothing in regards to flying insects in there, so it's not needed right now.

You are sooooo lucky. I use the sticky traps too but I have destroyed so many leaves with those things, coated so many stems and budz,, even the slightest snag is not coming off lol I started only keeping them horizontally across pot,to attract n catch surface bugs. It's just not worth the risk for sticky tape to be anywhere near even waist level....those things can be monsters....but work so damn well....like this

It works just as good and there's no danger of destroying my plants lol

Yeah, I only put one up because of the early problem with the thrips, which seems under control now.
That's an interesting way to use the long sticky traps. Had too many of those stuck in my hair from horse barns when I was a youngun', I shy away. LOL

If u do get bugs your in luck they will stick to the pots 🤣🤙✌️
Lol you done this before haven't you lol that's exactly what happens, the sticky stuff sticks to the edge off pot so buggs very much get stuck to the pots. Ik it's not the most effective way but these strips are using molasses and sugar n good stuff that bugs love to attract them. It's really just a preventative and a bug gauge,I combine w BTI and Neem oil lol if I was infested I wouldn't use it lik-yes I would and have 🤣 works great

When I first started growing, I had an issue with gnats and those no seeum flies. I used to put molasses/sugar water in tops of jar lids and place them on the top of the soil. As I recall, they worked quite well.

Nice, those greedy bugs fall for it everytime lol I tried sooo many things, cinnamon, bar soap, paprika lolol thank the grow I found BTI lol

Here's what I used to do, and the recipe I used below, then poured a little in the lids to place near the pot or on the soil surface. This was a lid to a small plastic coffee container. The bugs always went for it.

Here's the mixture if you're interested:

1/4 Cup honey or corn syrup
1/4 Cup Sugar
2 Tablespoons water

Heat the mixture in a saucepan gently until the sugar is dissolved.

This was my original post, I had attempted a recipe on how to make your own fly paper. Epic Fail, as you will read. LOL

Lol I never even thought of making my own ? No way it's as sticky as store bought w just those ingredients lolol

Seems like they really liked the mix tho,it just wasn't lethal on papers, more like a buffet for them buggy bastards lol
I believe the liquid in the lids trapped them too deep, so they couldn't lift up to fly out. They basically drowned in the sticky. They really did work well.
If I ever have another fungus gnat problem, I will utilize this again.

Good Morning all. :)

So, after about 16 hours of 100% setting on the light, and about 20" from the top of the plants, this is what I see this morning on some leaves. The edges curling, and a few tips starting to yellow.
This is due to light stress, being either too close or the heat? Or any other suggestions to the cause?

Just want to get opinions on that. I have moved the light back up to about 26" for today and will continue to watch. Those tips are the same that happened in my last grow, they eventually turn brown (dead on the tip)

I no likey.....

Low humidity and/or wind burn [same thing really] - it's a sign that the leaf is being dried too quickly one way or another
Is there a fan blowing directly onto those leaves? You've raised the light, so you could try turning the lamp down a bit and apply a light misting before those edges turn crispy, should resolve the problem in a few hours

Yea I think it's both light n heat,,when I have gotten light burn in past it's the combination that screws leaves. I would keep intensity at 100% but move light up and put fan blowing directly at light from bottom or horizontally above light. The plant can take much more, just not so fast. I would move light up then slowly bring back down over a longer period. Full spec lighting is a lot for a plant when young and unfamiliar with full spec, plus light has hotzones too. It's a small reaction so you pretty close to perfect tbh.
