I never used it for humidity. That was years ago. I used it for......well...fish. LOL It's long gone.

I just misted with distilled water on all the plants, and hung a wet towel near the fan. Fan is pointed above the plants. Within a few minutes I've hit 40%. We will see how the day goes.
I have a small humidifier for my mushroom grow tent, I'm going to hook that up and put it on the grow platform where the fan can move the mist around. I can set it on a timer and adjust the level of mist.

Hi LC have you tried a 5 gal bucket with air stones to raise your humidity? still would be easier on the electric bill than running a humidifier

Now that's a good thought. I can use my homemade cloner. It has air stones, I'm digging that out now!

i find it raises the humidity in the room where i aerate my buckets & even more when the water is warm
 
Okay, with the large wet towel and the mushroom tent humidifier, I'm sitting at 50% RH in there with the door closed.
I'm good with that.
I'm still going to put the bubble cloner together and put that to use. Trying to locate my air stones, but in the meantime I have some air pump tubing with holes in it to wrap in a circle at the bottom of the bucket. Might put the seedling mat under the bucket to keep the water warm.....

If you are looking on the net for shroom growing vids, you have to stop here first! I learned an incredible amount of valuable processes for beginners, as well as experienced cultivators. He has a plethora of videos with step by steps and explains the why's and how's.

Good Morning Friends...

At about 5:30 this morning, long before daybreak here, I woke to the sound of a car door. I got out of bed and looked at the surveillance monitor and there was a vehicle at my garage with blaring headlights on and a figure at the door. Heart jumped of course. I live in the woods far from cities, no reason for anyone to be here...especially at that hour.
Of course I had gotten armed and ready for a break in.
I saw the figure go back to the vehicle, get in and left. WTF?
It took a minute, but I remembered an Amazon order yesterday with a scheduled overnight delivery between 4 and 7:00 a.m. They NEVER keep that promise here! I coulda had a heart attack. 😆 😆

So, all is well. The humidity in the grow room stayed at 50% overnight with a large wet towel in a large bowl of water.
My air stones were in sad shape, so I opted to just order some new ones. Hence, the delivery that scared the chit out of me this morning. 😆
I will be putting together a different bubbler because I want to use the homemade bubble cloner for something else soon. LOL
 
Whew! We have those crazy delivery hours here too. I'm usually sleeping but when I'm up it does flip the alarm switch!

That delivery guy has no idea how close he came to being "delivered" that morning! :oops:
 
Allllll Righty then...

I have a basic bubbler going using a stock pot and two of the 4 x 2" new air stones with an old aquarium air pump that has double air ports. Minimal electric use, gotta love 'dat!
The RH went down to 45% because the door was open while I did the work. I will wait a few hours now and see how the RH levels off at with the bubbler.

That sounds like a crazy way to wake up, inquiring minds want to know rock salt or slugs Lol! glad it was all good

Let's put it this way....
Back in the mid 90's we experienced a break in/robbery here. Many houses hit in the area by the same "gang" that day.
I demanded the Po Po dust for prints on a couple things that were ready to go, but got left behind by the robbers. Some boys coming to work on the property scared the robbers into leaving earlier than they planned.

Long story short, fingerprints came back with a match a year later and the leader of the gang was arrested. A VERY LARGE man, his footprint where he kicked my back door in is still there to this day.
He went to prison. Got out on good behaviour early because he found "Jesus", and I was worried. It was me who got him found and arrested.
He and a relative shot and killed a store owner and a customer during a robbery within two months of getting out. Got life without parole for that, and I think he died in prison in the last couple of years.

So, I guess it's understandable why my heart races and I get prepared for anything. Rock salt ain't gonna cut it. LOL

I won't protect myself with anything but the REAL thing.
